Wonderful music. I myself have very little sense of rhythm ( unfortunately) which makes this "paschen" all the more fascinating. It reminds me of rhythmic hand clapping in Andalusia. Oh I wish I were able to join in!

This makes me really smile! I went looking for Austrian folk dancing (Ländler) and this came up, and I'm glad it did. Love the Salzburgisch dialect, too. As a Classical music lover, it's interesting to me realising that this is the dialect Mozart grew up speaking! Never heard it before. Thanks for posting - it brightened my day!

Hi, das stimmt das wäre ein guter Staat, mit der Schweizer Regierungsform, keine Bundestagsdiktatur sondern Volksdemokratie, aber eine Einschränkung, keine Monarchie in dem vereinigten Staat, blos nicht Bayern, diese ewig Monarchie soll bleiben wo der Pfeffer wächst! ;)

kdancat is absolutely right. Mariachi music started when Maximilian I, a member of Austria's Imperial Habsburg-Lorraine family, was Emperor of Mexico. Thereafter, it evolved to what it is today but its european influence can still be heard.

21inheart, I used to go every year to Familie Laimers concerts up in their mountain concert/cabin in Strobl. The wurstlen cooking outside with the wonderful view, and inside they would play with 3 generations of Laimer. Absolutely wonderful. This is a true classic.
