Why he isnt in the Hall of fame is a joke, someone please explain this. Nobody brought you out of your seat like the Russiian Rocket and Im talking about away games as well.
@barkleysound the only reason he wasn't is because the canucks used a loophole to allow him to be eligible for the draft, they used an oft seen couple semi amateur games to say he was a professional, even though he was 17.
If not Bure would of went number 1 overall instead of 56th in the 4th round, Bure was destined for a trade up war between Detroit, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles
in his rookie season he might have been the fastest player in the NHL. When he put on muscle in seasons 2 and 3 he slowed down a lot but was still very fast. In his rookie season he was unearthly fast
He sure was fun to watch. So fast and he hit bigger than he was. Cherry was right that he didnt play much defense but he could find the back of the net like no one else. Funny how back then they took 2 minute shifts. Shows how much things have changed. Hed be even better now if he was starting out. His speed would dominate even more with nobody hacking and hooking him.
I still consider him one of my all-time favourite Canucks player until the day I die. The way the team was during the 94 cup finals and used their skills with finesse. I'm still a Canucks girl no doubt, but the current line-up are nothing like Captain Canuck Linden and Bure.
i think the best part of that video is how when they are awarding the calder, bure stands up before his name is called. My favorite hockey player of all time and always will be. Bure faithful.
@kookykrumbs I don't know...but that might be editing...I'd like to see the actual footage...at the same time if he had 35 goals and the next rook had 14, why not stand up early?
@chaucy9 Where's the NHL? This isn't the NHL I grew up with. I know things have changed and the game has evolved and that part is great, but the NHL is sports entertainment. Whether teams win and lose legitimately now is debatable.
Russia vs. Canada would be a great final. Either team has enough skill to win but in such a short tournament it'll be who has the right type of players, and which team comes together the fastest.
Takes more than goal scorers to win a championship.
And now Russia is better than Canada, remember the last two finals? Who won? "And remember the five best players in the NHL last season, the Canadians were the best? Or Americans? Hahaha .... In the five was the best was 4! Russian player ... Ovechkin, Malkin, Datsyuk, Kovalchuk.I only one Canadian Crosby.
Russia's goal is Vancouver, after winning the Olympic all recognize that Russia best.A Canada and America will be behind us.
Nationality has nothing to do with talent. Canadian, Russian, American, etc, It doesn't matter. Hockey brings people from all over the world together and that's what makes it so great.
There is nothing wrong with loving your countryman, and being competitive. But so many hockey fans are flat out disrespectful. Being biased is being human, but show some respect. The world looks down on you.
Shut up, stupid Canadian! Your hockey rough and dirty! Russian hockey has always been the best, remember the killing Clark Kharlamova? Or as Phil Espazito broke Mikhailova? And now, who is the best in the NHL? Ovechkin, Datsyuk, Malkin, Gonchar, Markov, Kovalev, Kovalchuk, Afinagenov, Nabokov, Khabibullin ... Who is most like the U.S. and Canadian guys? Crosby?? Do not tell! "In America, all scrip converge Ovechkin and Malkin!
I think you are both right. Canada is better. But Russia is better too. In other words, its a tie. You can spin it 300 ways 300 different times, you will always get the same result. Stalemate. If you look at the match-ups, of Russia vs OHL, WHL, and NHL. Canada has won the majority. But now compare top end Russians against top end Candians... Russia has a slight advantage there. Simply put, top 2 hockey nations hands down, and that will never change
The song sounds like it was something thrown together by Vancouver radio station CKNW, which used to broadcast Canuck games. You can hear a reference to the station's call letters (CKNW) at one point. Frankly, it's brutal.
Man i miss Bure..I have always been big Bure fan and 1998 Olympic,Bure made 5 goals against Finland..I was same time sad and happy and i live in Fin,Sick ^^.. Bure 5 Fin 4! He was just Too fast for anybody..Best player ever in my opinion. Sry my bad English..
My favourite player of all time. If he stayed healthy who knows how great he would have been. Considering the fact that he scored around 400+ in around 700+ games. Unbelievable.
few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. @Ahattrick4asprilla It was called the dead puck era because teams played very defensive and all the games were low scoring. So if Bure played today, he would be winning the rocket richard every year.
Yea man exactly. The NHL is riddled with chumps who don't have the balls to score goals. Look at players like Bure...there are none like him in the NHL! That is why this league is suffering. But Russia seems to understand the sport better. They send us Ovechkin, Afinogenov, Bure etc... most of which play the game Bure did in his time. That is exactly what we are looking for! Explosive players who aren't afraid to get injured on the scoring attempt.

@almo8989 can you explain, why you called it the "dead puck era"? Please Tell me which rules have changed up to now. Thanks

@Ahattrick4asprilla It was called the dead puck era because teams played very defensive and all the games were low scoring. So if Bure played today, he would be winning the rocket richard every year.
