in his rookie season he might have been the fastest player in the NHL. When he put on muscle in seasons 2 and 3 he slowed down a lot but was still very fast. In his rookie season he was unearthly fast

He sure was fun to watch. So fast and he hit bigger than he was. Cherry was right that he didnt play much defense but he could find the back of the net like no one else. Funny how back then they took 2 minute shifts. Shows how much things have changed. Hed be even better now if he was starting out. I still consider him one of my all-time favourite Canucks player until the day I die. The way the team was during the 94 cup finals and used their skills with finesse. I'm still a Canucks girl no doubt, but the current line-up are nothing like Captain Canuck Linden and Bure.

Any player with the puck would get hooked and grabbed really badly and penalties were rarely called. The new rules don't allow players to do that anymore which means more offense. So if Bure played today, he would be winning the rocket richard every year.

Yea man exactly. The NHL is riddled with chumps who don't have the balls to score goals. Look at players like Bure...there are none like him in the NHL! That is why this league is suffering. But Russia seems to understand the sport better. They send us Ovechkin, Afinogenov, Bure etc... most of which play the game Bure did in his time. That is exactly what we are looking for! Explosive players who aren't afraid to get injured on the scoring attempt.
