look into installing linux on your own computer and family members, a basic ubuntu install is at the point where it has most of the functionality most people need, granted this may not be a long term fix as infectables may become more cross platform or as linux gains popularity there could be more infectables written for it, but it is better than your windows machines getting harassed every five minutes.

Have you ever seen the one that looks like a shot of your My computer screen that display's your hard drives & such & looks like a scan is going on of your drives ? If you click on the pop up window it installs a Malware virus called Virtualmondu or something of that sort. & it is on Google's servers. Google denies this but a recently updated version of it has hit Google that looks like a windows 7 scan. If you see this scan ( DO NOT CLICK ON IT ANYWHERE ! ) Ctrl, Alt, Del & close your browser.
