Note that only emulators can load the Summary screen on Hybrids. On top of that, hybrids will not have a single set type. I have a Hybrid Lugia whose primary type changes depending on which Pokemon's summary I view. When I don't look at a summary, it's Flying/Flying type. When I look at my Raichu, it changes to Electric/Flying. It was Dragon/Flying one time, and ???/Flying another time.

I've been wanting to mess with these. I became interested since i came across 'M on my own.

I'm gunna attempt to obtain a hybrid on an emulated Platinum, extract that .pkm file using PokeSav, and send it to my current HeartGold via irgts... Since I don't have a working Action Replay:x

@firemon123 u can trade a certain generation pokemon game to a different genaration because they might be trading a pokemon thaty dosent exist in that generation so its impossible to try it out

oh and I forgot, the marril is doing fine but why can't I trade my hybride mudkip to pokemon soul silver? i have pokemon diamond bur if I enter the union room the game freeze

dude! I let my hybride mudkip (8258) mate with an normal MARRIL and they have an egg!

by the way, I can't rename, see the status, battle or train my hybride pokemon :(

can someone help me?

ps: a MARRIL hatched from the egg with thick fat or something and it know present XD

Number 80F9 (Hybrid Lugia) crashes the game when trying to view its summary, put it in battle or give it a nickname. However, you can place it in the PC and view some of its stats from there. It has Bulbasaur's cry. (Pokemon Diamond, USA version)

@WarlordShinkouhyou I put a Hybrid Drifblim into the daycare with my Ditto, and they "prefer to play with others." Then I turned on an Instant Egg code (which can even force legendaries to breed) and a Fast Hatch code to receive an invisible egg. It hatched into the glitch Pokemon called ----- (a.k.a, DP Box). It had the cry of a bulbasaur, and I couldn't see it unless I was at a PC.

So yeah, they can only breed via cheating.

The Generation IV hybrids have been theorized as the game's attempt of reading only partial Pokémon data. Consider that the species word (two bytes) in Generation IV is a signed integer, this means 'negative' values are possible, which is interesting because 8000 is half-way through, i.e. FFFF = 65535 and 8000 = 32768. Therefore 8000 to FFFF might be the negative values, it is possible to read sprite data like this but not with much else explaining how unstable they are.
