  • Everything is suggestive, this particular ditty is fantastic

  • This was released in 1964 on the HMV Label and it was Ronnie's last hit I believe

  • They don't write them like this any more...big shame!

  • you wouldn't be allowed to sing about a "crooked man" these days - the disability thought police would stop it!

  • I remember this song back in the early 60`s, I loved it as a young boy and still do as a young nearly 50 year old, No one would have the bottle today to sing about a hole in there roof or a man walking a crooked mile, ohh they were the days, where have they all gone? those lovely simple songs!!

  • I also remember this song from the same time - guess we're a similar age (50 next May !!!) I've always remembered it and it's always taken me back to those carefree innocent days.

  • lol I be 55 next may, Yes they were carefree days, how i wished we could recapture those happy times.

  • @morsemolly Hi Molly , glad to see I'm not the only one who wants a time machine, haha , my birthday is May 26 1959!!!

  • Same as yourself I was just a kid, when I first heard this song,It always reminded me of our house, which did have a hole in it,lol.

  • great song thanks

  • good old song
