  • looks like siniwali.

  • @jkdsilat7 It is 'a' Siniwali. In fact there are countless. This one is commonly referred to as 'Heaven & Earth', 6 count or Broken 8, when you use the baston. Siniwali literally means 'to weave', so whether we weave two sticks, stick and hand, one blade, doce daga, two empty hands, 3 empty hands, my movement with my opponent's movement, it is all siniwali.

That is a very versatile drill. Like the hubud patterns I think this has an infinite number of potential applications. Yet the basics are simplicity itself.

    Beautifull ellegant and efficinet.

  • For those who are watching this, the techniques used in the flow of the drill were not planned. I did not know ahead of time, as some of my smiles, standing on my toes, and grimaces will attest to.

Also, as some of my facial expressions show, these techniques can get uncomfortable when executed. Discomfort is excellent to show effectiveness, but make sure you are safe. Do not turn discomfort into injury. Mas Guru Heriford does an excellent job in ensuring safety in training. Follow his example.
