Wow, I haven't had any of those. I've had some bugs eat some tomatos, but only when I leave them on the vine too long. My cucumbers haven't done too good, they've been all yellow, but squash is happy. Next year I'll make the garden bigger.
@JoeShmoe65x2 I want some chickens, too. I love chickens, but i can guarantee i will NOT be throwing my hornworms to any of them. I will have oodles of delicious mealworms, though.
now i know what them S.O.B.,s are, yeah last year those fuckers stripped out my tomato plants so bad that i said to hell with planting any this year, i was shooting with a b.b. gun did,nt want to use pesticides , they are a pain in the ass. everything else in my garden was fine, but i like making salsa fresh from my , and you need tomatoes to do that, and them damn varments would,nt give me break. thanks for your post.
@steveeb1269 Nonsense! You can STILL have loads of great tomatoes, even if those silly hornworms eat most of the leaves. beside, always plant MORE tomatoes than you think you will need, because birds, sowbugs and slugs will get some of the ripe fruit, too.
omg thanks for posting this, when i was a kid i seen this huge worm like thing and this is what it was......it was twice this size my mom thought i was crazy, because when i went to show her it wasnt there. Up until this point i questioned whether i had seen it or it was an actual thing, its was like one of those unsolved mysteries from your childhood lol thanks!
you guys are welcome. companion plant marigolds all around the base of your tomaters. marigolds are stinky to all sort of predator insects. btw, isn't that the pupa & moth from 'silence of the lambs'?

You have a cool setup! I think I heard Lilly actually answer you when you brought her a worm. ;)
