Ok that solves part of it. Why are they always pointed at the floor? It seems like they get blocked by the first couple of people and the rest of the room is sorta dark. Have you ever tried pointing them at head level or just above? Are you afraid of blinding guests?
Hey Brian - yeah pretty obvious to me. I have been placing lights on my speaker stands for years now. Its great for when you have tight places to set up or for a lower end gig.
Brian - after I saw you put the jellyfish a few months ago under your scrim I started doing the same thing and it works great... you can use the O clamp or you can get a small clamp from the local hardware store... that is what I did to mount the scrim because I wanted it higher...
Thanks for this video as well Brian, makes sense after you do it with the clamp and all. also covers up the top of the scrim. I think my next gig I Might try my Micro Stars on the stands their small and may seem as if the pole is sending out the laser. Thanks again...Cheers!
Instead of using the Lighting Clamp, I drilled a hole in my stands, and ran a 3" bolt through and use wingnuts. Same idea, but the bolt is fastened to the pole and creates less bulk.
Of course a great idea! EVer since i saw you doing this i started to do it in my setups and you're right. People love it, had comments about them at my last wedding
i always clamp my revo 3 & 4 to my speaker stands... with "O" clamps so it wont scratch my stands... all i need to buy now is some white scrims for my stands =)
Great Idea :) Are there Manfrotto Super Clamps in the USA? I think they are perfect for this, too. The Screw of them is bigger, so there is more place for the Scrim. Search on goole ;-) Keep doing nice Videos :)
Inspired by your Jellyfish (and didn't you also use Sunray tri-led back in the day?), I use Jellydomes on my speaker poles.
I used to use a deck stand with a goalpost over the top but now I've done away with that and use the Jellydomes it all looks much neater. They are fully DMX'd and from white, for the first dance, on through the night it looks great.
I'm tempted to press dislike just because that one hater apparently isn't doing his job...LOL (to the rest of you who don't know me, I really am just kidding)
3rd. Great use of the clamp...I use those things for everything, including a modified LCD mount for mounting my 23" Karaoke monitor. Thanks for the videos Brian, please keep them coming, they are appreciated.
Awesome video, i know i asked about that recently, and i thank you! The skrim thing is also really cool. I'm planning on putting an Electro Swarm from Eliminator on one. Its bigger, but its LED and not too heavy.
Keep up the videos Brian, and its great to see you up and moving around. Your arm will come back in no time.

what size O-Clamp? O-Clamp 1.5???
skiing54 6 months ago
@skiing54 Depends on what size your stand is usually =)
plumeref1975 6 months ago
@plumeref1975 not true, all speaker stands are the same diameter to accommodate any speaker
