I would love one of these for my B&G!!!! Only problem is that she hates having any sort of strap wrapped around her. She literally freaks out and will bite with full force.
i really like this video cuaz it help me out alot but the trainer knows wat his doing but the red macaw that bit him maybe u should try to coax him or train not to get the frighten cuaz the bite could have been more serious but i liked the video and helped me out but i think i shouldn't be talking but im just thinking
Hi i got a ? umm how do you get you macaw to like ive tryed it on him more then 10 times and he wont wear it he bite an runs an gose crazy i need some help lol cus i really dont want to have to cut his wings again i hope you can help me. i dont have a aviator harness i just have one of those regular harness for birds. but yeah if you could just let me know thanks helena
I am very concerned about a hawk, owl, or kestrel swooping down and taking my bird. They don't call them "Chicken Hawks" for nothing. The leash gives me some ability to save my bird. I don't believe in clipping my birds flying ability either. The leash allows freedom with some safety.
If they learn how to fly in the right age they can evade most of the predators. My amazons were chased several times and now they chase the kestrels out of our flying location. Please learn with Chris Biro how to do it with safety.
@greengrendel ya seem thing here i have a question i want to get the selphur crested cockatoo to they sell those types of harness for them 2 cuaz there about the same size aren't they
Its called quality construction and material type... not all elastics are created equal... its like rubber... rubber is incredibly soft and wears easily... yet some rubbers are some of the strongest materials around.. just like elastics.
I have never heard of an aviator harness breaking due to quality / age.
do they make them for small conures? because i have a green cheek and i usually never clip his wings because he dosent really fly. even when i take him out side he only free flys short distances around the tree's and comes back to me maybe the harnice will make him and me feel more secure for him to fly? plus his flight wings are the prettiest sky blue and i cant bear to get rid of them =)
yea when you go to the website that is in the info, the have sizes for small bird like cockatiels conures (green cheek and brown throated only) and other small birds

if u clip there wings they will never learn how to fly outside with out a harness the purpose of the harness is to teach them to fly freely and comback when called

Gabby has one of Steve's Aviator harnesses. There's no doubt it's the best design, easiest to put on and the safest. Gabby is a Hartman bird and she visited Steve's birds just yesterday. ;-)
I just bought an Aviator for my Quaker.. I am real excited to get her out flying! We've been working on flight training commands all winter long!! I just hope I can get her into the harness without any problems. She's fiesty. this video's got me REAL excited, though!! I am going to buy a retractable leash tomorrow!!

This looks like a great alternative to clipping, but it's too bad there isn't a size small enough for a budgie!

This is horrible. Why don't you recall train your birdsand stop harnessing them? Harnesses are horrible for the birds.

Where can you buy them ?
NightmareSkittlesz 2 years ago
this might be a good idea for the first few times before letting them flying completely free.
Most my birds get very frightened on their first flights and I've had to climb trees etc to get them back.

does it not hurt when it runs out of leech?
That pull when the lead ends surely?
xxJonnyCxx 2 years ago
the elastic acts as a shock absorber preventing the bird from injuring itself when it reaches the end of the lead...

clipping thier wings keeps them safer
SpacePope4 3 years ago
clipping there wigs is not safe if their is an emergency were the bird needs to escape it wont be able to escape and it will die

can i do this with every species of parrot?? like "cenerino"???
