i dont know if anybody has said this but when you were fishing at the red dot that is humble channel and the inter coastal is couple more miles down the cause way
i got a tip for you ty. i was on a fishing charter and our captain was a marine biologist for 25 years. he rips the tails of the shrimp because it releases a chemical in the water that attracts fish. so maybe try that some time it worked wonders for us
check out MICHIGANKAYKFISHING on line.. id call LAKE MICHIGAN TACKLE SHOP or another shop in the area. i know small mouth are a big deal in that lake... ask the local shops... find out what kind of plugs they hit (rattle traps? diving plugs? ) put 2 rods out and start trolling! you will turn up something! and when you start catching a few in an area . notice the structure (rocks etc) then start cast fishing that area... ty
hey ty this isn't exactly relevant to the video but I'm going to port oconnor this weekend and i was wondering if you had heard anything about the mangrove snapper
EVERYONE WHO IS TIRED OF WATCHING BASS FISHING ON TV SHOULD SUBSCRIBE. MAYBE AFTER ENOUGH SUBSCRIPTION THEY MIGHT GET SOME ATTENTION AND LAND A CONTRACT ON TV. SALTWATER FLATS GAMEFISH ALL THE WAY BABY!!!
there is a pear by the ferry on PORT street. goes out mabe 30-40 yards into the channel. fishing there is great i would use live shrimp or live sealice(mantis shrimp) i catch sheephead, piggies, rays, trout, and ive even caught 2 hammerheads. both about 3 feet long though. but hey a shark is a shark. =)
Have you guys ever tried kayak fishing off the South Padre Island bay? I usually wade out there, to some success, but kayaking is one thing that I've never done but always have been curious about. Got any tips about beginner kayakers?
never... looks like a killer spot on google maps... as for tips... check out my youtube channel YAKNTEXAS... i try to put alot of tips on there for yakers...ty
dude you need a verses show, at work when i take a lunch im watching your vids on my phone. love your videos cause your always after something different, in an unorthodox way. gret job bro keep it going
pretty cool video guys. Im looking at transferring to Three Rivers Texas for work, been trying to keep an eye on the possible hunting and fishing around the area. This video gave me some hope. Not much water where Im at, boo Phoenix!
3 rivers.... great spot... awesome fishing in corpus area and the hunting in south texas is awesome - big deer, hogs, turkey, havalina,as well as free range- axis deer, muflon, aoudad, nilgai etc etc... enjoy....ty
@bubbacrabb You don't need to hope for fishing on the gulf. You just need a pole. Fishing is GREAT down here, even with the littlest amount of knowledge.
I really like you idea of using some pvc pieces attached to a milk crate to hold your rods, and your ice chest, or tackle box. Great, simple system. An idea from me to any of your viewers. Take a black permanent marker, or a hot soldering iron and draw, or make a ruler along the side of you hull next to where you sit. Catch a fish, pull the hook, lay him next to your homemade ruler, and see if it's a keeper or not. Easier than looking for a tape, or ruler in the boat. Happy fishing.
hey ty hows it going bud sorry i never got back to you on that comment like 3 months ago i didnt even know you had written back, this vid was great bet those little reds were fun cant wait till i get my kayak i want to yak the coast so bad also calaveras
There is another guy, older than you that has put out vids that I think are also called 30 miles out, they could be some other miles out name. I'm new to fishing but I am digging it big time . The other 30 mile has given me some tips. I'm gonna buy a yak and hit the bays soon. My only concern is that aholes are gonna fuck with my truck and steal shit when I am out in the water. Any suggestions?
Wow great video! You should have done some night fishing on the Humble. I've caught alot of keeper reds at night around about where you guys were. At night is when that spot really shines!
for the sheep head the best bait is live fiddler crab, you can catch milions of sheep head. but put it a couple of inches above the bottom or the blue crabs will get it
@tyonthefly I live in SA also, 281 & 1604. I somehow happened upon your vid. It just popped up. I went with a friend that has a bay boat and a little house in Port O'Conner last Sept. It was a blast. Park the boat, jump in, and hunt those reds and specs. I have been looking at kayaks ever since. Any suggestions? I would like to get one with pedals and rudder, but havenot seen them at Academy or Bass Pro. Special order I guess? Probably exspensive. What is your take? Enjoyed the vid btw.
It's nice to see some videos from guys fishing TX. I'm tired of watching the same old stuff from guys fishing the flats of Florida on ESPN, VS, etc...

we usually start hitting the offshore blue water stuff when the seas lay down... usually mid summer... the hotter the calmer...
this allows us to safely run farther, faster till we hit the blue water break.... ty
