Not including all my upgrades of course, and I have two other eMachines, as well as an armada of gaming devices, mass usb storage devices, top of the line LCD widescreens, and 7.1 surround sound.
Wasn't talking about the video, was talking about your random "I'm better than you because I have this and this and this" post. Nobody cares - but if you feel important I'm happy for ya...
But yeah the video is cool, doesn't come close to Linux but this argument has been doen a million times...
hooo lots of pc fanboys here haha all enjoying the little aero ahahha expose owns you in a bad way just use youtube and you'll see hahahah retarded btw cheers devin6687
I think Mac is sucky, and guess what they are going out of business around the next 10 years due to how much people have a PC with Windows. and wtf is a "unix" that's been around since the 60's i mean why the fuck would someone use something from the 60's on a computer. I can hack Mac in Unix.
If Microsoft were smart, it would have rebuilt windows on top of UNIX, it's still much more secure than Vista could ever be.
UNIX was designed for networking, multiple users, file sharing, multi-tasking, permissions, root access... all from day 1 of development. In Windows, all of those things were afterthoughts, and so is the security.
Exposé is not useless. It makes Flip 3d look like a joke, if you ask me. Exposé has 3 different functions where flip 3d just has one. All windows, application specific, and reveal desktop. Plus, my old Mac can do Exposé and it's 3 years old. In case you haven't noticed, the number of people switching is growing every day!
Oh wait, I apologize -- on further investigation: The Apple TV can't even capture a fucking cable signal :D
I use Mac OS. I use Windows. I prefer Windows. It's more stable (YES, DO NOT EVEN TALK TO ME ABOUT THAT. I CANNOT FUCKING TELL YOU HOW MANY TIMES iMOVIE HAS FUCKED ME OVER AT SCHOOL), starts faster, and is more compatible. Yes, Windows has some features similar to Apple, but who the hell is trying to say that no two operating systems can share features? Mouse support?
THANK YOU! I cannot tell you how many times iMovie crashed on me in school. Select a font. Select the font again, "iMovie has unexpectedly quit" What the hell is Error -2? Who knows. Meanwhile, all of my movies are edited on Windows Vista, on an AMD Athlon 64 rig with Adobe Premiere. Crashes: None. Ever. EVER.
Just because Microsoft takes more time and puts more changes into the operating system, doesn't mean they are slow. Let's look even further -- Every year, Apple releases a new update, costing near $150. Microsoft had a release wait of a little over 6 years. Six years with Microsoft: $239 (Home Premium)
Six years with Apple: $900 (Assuming yearly updates at $150/update).
God you're a flipping moron. There have been 4 paid updates to OS X. 10-10.1 was free. Then Jaguar (10.2) then Panther (10.3) then Tiger (10.4) @ 129 dollars each that's $520. Don't assume when you don't have a clue what you're talking about.
So what if Apple had some of these features since 2003? Windows XP was released in 2001. You don't see Microsoft shipping "Windows NT 5.1.1", "5.1.2", etc... No. 5.1, then service packs. Here's a fun one:
Exposé is much better than that Flip 3D, you have to go through all the windows one by one, that is impractical and does not deserve to have a 3D effect.
So many get this wrong because THEY ASSUME. You can in fact click on a window to select it. I like expose too but Flip3D does give you bigger previews which is better when you need to see detailed content to distinguish the windows.
It gives you bigger previews, but unfortunately, you can't see every part of every window. The biggest help Windows would be is that it would be obvious which window is which. Nothing has hardly any uniformity at all, so yeah, that is easier. But you also consider that you still have a separate menu bar for every window and it's still far less efficient.
Bullshit. It's more efficient to have every program have it's own menu bar. On OSX, I have to click the app, THEN I can use the menu bar for that app. If the other window needs me to use it's menu, I need to manually focus that app first. With Windows, I can just click right on the app's menu bar, and go. One click, no mouse travel.
ah, what linux developers were doing in 1 year, and Apple had for nearly 7 years now; took MS 6 years to copy? oh dear xD (but it's a really bad copy of OS X)
OS X *released* a subset of the Vista features before Vista. However, Vista had these features long before Mac revealed any of it to the public. WTF is it with people being *religious* about OSes? Learn the facts, and act on them. Don't spout things about any platform based on emotions.
Vista was RELEASED in 2007, but it's been in DEVELOPMENT since 2002. The only reason OSX had them public earlier is because they do tiny little changes, increment the version number by a fraction, and sell it for about five times its worth. "Holy crap, updated search!", which is useful for people who don't know how to organize their damn files.
why would I buy a mac off amazon, I always buy my macs from one place and one place only and thats an Apple retail store. Also if I include everything which I bought for My Macbook it was around $2,689.9 and thats just one computer I have three other macs
:D nice, but too weak for a system requiring such a huge hardware comparing to linux that manages to to thing that are hundred times greater. ....see 4 yourself on products such as compiz, beryl, kiba-dock.. :D
Just because Vista doesn't throw on a cape, ride around on a pony while juggle flaming torches doesn't mean it can't. The linux 3D accelerated desktop veriants are way too over the top. If they're to become common to the masses they need to refine the flash and glitter. Check out Windows Presentation Foundation to see what devs are doing with MS's new platform.
