That's wierd it should not ding at the floor when you arrive. Fire service usually disables that.

And when turning fire service off you go from on to bypass to off

Also, if you remove the key and switch it to the off position while at another floor, the elevator will recall back to the main floor.

Well, some states do not allow for "Bypass" or "Reset."

He is wrong on one point. The Call cancel button does not cancel hall buttons. It will cancel any errant car caLL. tHE HALL BUTTONS AUTOMACTICALLY GO OFF ON ACTIVATION OF FIREMAN SERVICE.

Just checked fire service recall on a set of Dovers today to verify that the smoke detectors triggered the proper primary and alternate recall, and shunt trip. Dovers use a 2389 key.

Yes, as the elevator recalls to the ground floor, Otis elevators display that and the fire hat while the elevator is in phase 1. when phase 2 is activated with the key, the "please exit when doors open" shut off, but the fire hat stays lit up.

I think before you open the door you should touch it first to sense the existence of fire, and after you are sure that its safe, open the door.

Allright. So the door close button on a Schindler elevator does work in both normal & fire service modes.

No door close doesnt work on schindlers in normal mode it will work in fire service.

fyi- the call cancel button on the car operating panel is used to cancel calls that you have set up after the car was put on phase 2 fire service. any hall calls already registered will be cancelled when the phase 1 fire service is initiated
