I feel really unintelligent...or at least uninformed, as I probably should at least check wikipedia before making a claim about a subject of which I know nothing. Woops.
The trouble with this design of walker is that it only has four feet and hence lurches from side to side, which causes problems with steaming. This can easily be seen in the video as the model starts off quickly from rest, but soon slows down as steam pressure is dissipated. A six-legged design would be more stable and should therefore steam better.
@crabfu: Indeed. The "Industrial Revolution" would not have happened and we'd still be living in the 1700's, technology wise, without steam. It's doubtful we'd even have developed any practical electrical technology without steam to power the generators.
Well. Now I should probably have a basis for thinking things before I say them. I concede, I'm sure (Geothermal?) Steam energy is extremely useful for powering private homes/cities.
I'm really surprised I didn't get, like, -15 thumbs down.
From Stockholm, Sweden: Ha, ha, ha! That is so cute! And a fine built "walker". Good job!
I just miss the sound. Please, can you film it again with sound and a bit better picture quality? That I would like to see -- and hear! Please, let me know if you then have a new version like this!

Steam is the best power source EVAR!...except that it's useless, sadly.
Kaixero 1 year ago
What I do with steam is useless, that's for sure. But steam power itself is very useful.
crabfu 1 year ago 10
not realy you could be onto something useful with your skills.

Yes cool but not useless. What do you think is powering 90% of all of the homes in the world? Steam powered electric turbines.

Nuclear powerstation is also steampower. :)
iamsnail 1 year ago
@Kaixero considering it's used to generate 80% of the worlds power, via nuclear and cole oil, and gas powerstations, i doubt its useless :p
spodface12 11 months ago
in fact even an atomic power plant uses steam to generate power.
