listen,Batman never had his revenge on Harvey Two Face. because harvey never own batman anything personal. so killing two face is technically doing a justice rather than vengance.
It's called Batman Forever because throughout the film Bruce Wayne struggles to decide whether or not being Batman is nescasery. At the end, he realizes that he isn't Batman because he needs to be, but because he wants to be. And besides, this was the first live action Batman movie and I loved it and I still do know as I'm 22. It cheesy and ovver the top with one liners but I love it anyway.
Dude it was not the bad yes it was kid friendly an the fight scene could of been better an two faces make up was lil much but overall it was still a good movie they followed the comic an everything wat more can u ask for
F... Kids? u know u were a kid once. And you just insulted people haven't done anything wrong. It was the parents at the time to screwed up the 90's batman franchise the same as they did witht the teenag mutant ninja turtles movies. So thank you parents of america.
For the live action Batman movies, this really isn't that bad. In fact I'd call it good: easily better than Batman & Robin and Batman Returns. Jack Nicholson's performance in the '89 Batman is the only reason I enjoyed it more.
What is interesting is that your review managed to get me to shut if off after just two and a half minutes. You ran your opening jokes into the ground (forgivable), but then you decided "I must drop the f-bomb to be an adult". f-bombs are FILLER. -_-
i saw this when i was five, after seeing batman ( 1989) and batman returns. and pnce saw bat ma nand robin. i stoped watching because even though i was five i could tell that it sucked, i stoped wathcing, i am a lot older now, and i fucking still hate it, although i love the tim burton films.
oh and i remember a documentary saying that the set design and color palate was influenced by the dark knight returns. if you watch the film then flip through DKR then it does make some since. so in that regard the flashyer colors don't bother me
i will give you that the film reeks of 90's box-office decadence (lowest common denominator = bigger box-office numbers) it just feels like people hate on it more than it deserves (probably causethey think it's like batman & robin and they haven't seen it since they were kids) i'd say check it out if someone hasn't seen it in a long time. i guess you and I can just agree willie that '89 is the best bat-film ever!
@Willie8911 You do understand taht the reaons why Two-faces makeup was so bad was becuase it is insanely hard to make the right side of an actors face disfigured horribly and expect them to still act and don't say that TDK is an exception because Two-Faces burned half in that film was CG.
@starkiller20293 Well, if it was so hard, and was going to come out terrible, then don't do the charachter! Also, the part was horribly written. I mean, I would have forgiven it if the part was fantastic, but it isn't, so the makeup becomes especially inexcusable.
the reasons i think its better than batman returns: 1. hero and villain motivations actually make sense 2. you can say that the dialogue is campy and cheesy all you want but really its just as bad if not better than batman returns (just with a different coat of paint) 3. it's more faithful to the portrayal of batman and (to a lesser extent) his villains in the comics than returns 4. there's a plot. im not trying to be an angry fanboy, im just giving my humble opinion as a bat-fan.
@21doriangray Those are good arguments. I think both movies are deeply flawed though. I agree with your criticisms of Returns, but like I said, in Batman Returns, the film making is technically better. To me, Batman Forever represents the ugly side of 90s film making. Huge budgeted set piece spectacles colored with zany over the top characterizations. Now you may think its better then BR, but its still a bad Batman movie no matter how you slice it, despite some flashes of entertainment.
@21doriangray I don't agree...I will say its more commercial then Batman Returns, and also that is more traditional Batman movie then Batman Returns. As a film, Batman Returns displays a lot more quirky uniqueness.
