  • I remember being on a coach in the 70's at the German-Austrian border at 2am with 35 others singing this song out at the top of our lungs much to the besument of the Border Guards.....I swear they wanted to shoot the Mad English!

  • Like so many others I fondly remember this from my youth in the early 70s. Also, and I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but it was also widely played on the 80s Mod scene. Just as a bit of fun at the end of the night, but it was memories of drunken Mods dancing in a big circle and loudly singing along to this that brought me here! I think it was something to do with the groovy checked trousers! Get well soon Jackie, you brought me a lot of pleasure twice in my life!

  • jackie, sorry to her about your health problems, please get well soon....your a legend!!!!

  • Hope you are well Ms. Jackie! This song brings me back so many fond memories!

  • I am 46 years old now and I remember this well when it first came out, I still love it now. I hope you are back to full health very quickly, Jackie.

  • You'd be surprised how many people remember these song !

  • Hi Paul,

I am saorry I have not been responding to the fan mail of late as I have been in hospital and am now recovering from a heart ailment. I am getting better and stronger with each passing day. I would like to wish you a very Happy Successful and Heathy New Year to you and all my fans.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Hi Jackie. I'm very sorry to hear about your health problems. I hope you are resting and make a speedy recovery. I know I speak for myself and all your fans in wishing you my very best wishes and hope that 2012 is a healthier year for you. Take it easy Jackie... and keep on taking the tablets! Hope to see you bouncing back in no time.

    Best wishes, Paul x

  • @paulreno1 Hi Paul, thanks for your kind thoughts. I am well on my way to feeling more like myself. I get stronger everyday and yes I am taking loads of meds., and am now running around like a blue a$@#d fly. lol.

    Happy New Year to you,

    Jackie (Lee). X

  • @MsJackieLee Hi Jackie. That's great to hear you are feeling a little better. Hope you keep going from strength to strength. If you are feeling like a blue a**** fly better wipe your feet before you put them up!

    Paul x

  • I think that Jackie Lee sang the theme tune to the 'White Horses' TV series. Please correct me if I am wrong .

  • @TheHumbuckerboy Yes that's correct. She sang many TV songs. She had a successful recording career too. Jackie often comments on this page. She's a very nice lady.

  • @paulreno1 Thanks for your reply.Yes I see that Jackie sang a number of theme songs including 'Pipkin's' etc.'White Horses' would be her greatest performance that I am aware of ,being very evocative and unique.Another brilliant theme song was/is the theme song to 'Belle and Sebastian'.

  • @TheHumbuckerboy I am so sorry for being out of commisiion this while back. I am now in recovery and feeling great. I want to thank everyone profusely for sending me such endearing comments, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

    Happy New Year,

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee It was wonderful to receieve your message this morning ,definitely a nice start to 2012 ! Your vocals here are melodic, happy and joyous .My personal favourite is 'White Horses' which is ,dare I say it , touching on genius .I pray that God will bless you with your health and in your life this coming year.

  • I hope you are well and merry xmas to you.just to let you know we had a son just over 14 months ago and we have named him rupert ,and his middle name is bear!, he is a most handsome boy and full of character .i will post hopefully a picture to you if you have website ,we live in the highlands of scotland ,we are haveing one of the mildest xmas on record but very windy.regards phil

  • @tigertruckerman Hi there Phil, I am so happy for you to have had a healthy and happy baby boy. I must say I love your choice of naming him Rupert not because of my record it has always been a favourite name of mine.Say a big hello the the highlands for me.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

    Jackie Lee.

  • it's amazing that such a basically twee song for a real kiddies tv programme can be done in such a cool, trendy way and still work perfectly on both levels. can't really imagine any singer of the modern day being able to pull something like this off.

  • @womba68 Thanks you so much for the accolades.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Without being aware your singing voice has stayed with me from my childhood. Firstly I have a vivid memory of White Horses as a child and when I found this I realised the connection. If you go to golddalek1961 you will see a video that shows the impact of your music on us all. We play this regularly and chose to play it instrumentally. We've had requests for "Rupert" as well. Thanks for making us all young again. :)

  • @golddalek1961 Thanks a whole bunch for you comment. I will indeed have a look at the link you sent me I am sure it will be very interesting. It is wonderful for me to be remembered in such a lovely way and I thank you for that.

    Happy New Year,

    Jackie Lee.

  • Altogether now lol

  • i agree the song is great

  • Comment removed

  • wow i just been listing to the rupert and also the white horses theme both quality and fantastic i loved them years ago and will enjoy for a long time to come.

  • @triumphcam1000 I am quite amazed myself that these two recordings are still remembered by so many people such as youself. Thank you so very much for taking the time to make such a nice comment.

    Jackie Lee

  • Thank you so much for your comment. Yes there were some rotters out there and there were some very good managers and agents, however, one had to be very selective in the the choices we made. I learned that a little too late and as you say I have my fans, over a million wonderful fans, so really, I am very lucky. Thanks for your concern.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee I hated it when I had to start going to school and therefore missing Rupert every Wednesday. I love your dancing as if you were a puppet on a string :-)

  • please excuse me for cheering myself up by visiting this link once or maybe 5 times a week lol. and yes i remember watching the news in the 80's about how most artists throughout the 60's were ripped off with bad Dodgy managers and also being cheated out of thier royalties. atleast you have your fans. :).

  • @MrDjc1970 Oh! you are a darling, thank you for that. Yes indeed my fans make up for everything that I lost money wise, as they say money isn't everything and I am living proof of that..

    Jackie Lee.

  • funny how a song can turn back time...

  • What a great tune - brings back such fond memories of my childhood. Was so glad to rediscover it! Thank you

  • Jackie Lee has a lovely singing voice, even as a child would stop to listen to the the song, nice to hear it again, if you read this Jackie, I hope you are very well, & thank's for cheering people up.

  • @postcodews41nu How lovely that you still remember me, thank you for that and thank you for your comment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • No. Just a letter or two. My Christmas wish list is growing. Kath Jenkins, (got them all on other CD's - don't you hate it when people do that), Kate Bush, her cousin, Metaphorest, (absolutely brilliant) and Jackie Lee's CD's. Now what about "Dear Mr Pye. I asked Santa for four things, but he says that he can only do three because you won't give him the other one to give me". (I'll pretend to be eight. Adds more weight to the letter)

Thank you so much for replying

  • @Wayne74566 The pleasure is all mine Wayne.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Now we can do this. Takes belief. What we had as kids. When Nutwood and the Lipizanas were real in your summer hols. Gone into bullying mode.

  • @Wayne74566 I do hope the bullying mode doesn't last for long.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Forgive me for sounding naive but... the real Jackie Lee is chatting within this forum?

  • @GigglingJester Yes indeed it is really me believe it or not.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @GigglingJester No it's not naive - it is the real Jackie Lee who visits this. She is a really nice person with a beautiful voice and always answers any questions you may have. Many celebrities these days wouldn't give a rats ar** about their fans.

  • sends chills down my face after all these years but wish i had that 1973 Bear Annual with a brown rupert face...i'd be minted now lol.

  • Come on Ms Lee, you know you can do it. Loads of 40 somethings need you more than ever now. "In the bleak midwinter" and all that!!. Save us from another Cliff Richard record at Christmas PLEASE. I'm sick of mistletoe and wine and it's only September!!..

Could I bully Pye records for you?.. If they tell me that there is no demand for it, I could always say that I'm demanding it, as are many others.

  • @Wayne74566 Please pretty please you can and bully Pye anytime you want to and tell them I agree with you, and while your at it please have a go at Universal to rerlease a White Horses Album as they own enough of my recordings to do just that. Sorry I have not been on line of late as have been away cruising for a couple of weeks haveing a ball might I say.

    Cheers,

    Jackie Lee..

  • Jackie is a truly multi-talented gem of a lady who deserved more recognition for the legend that she is.I have just rediscovered Jackie after all these years having recently purchased her two Cds.Happy memories of a long forgotten childhood that will remain in my heart forever. Thanks for the wonderful memories,Jackie!

  • Comment removed

  • In the word of that annoying dog on the insurance advert. "Nooo". Doris Day is topping the charts for heavens sake. Side A, "Rupert". Side B - "White Horses".Tell Pye it's already on one Christmas list So that's Christmas Day sorted. In no particular order. Your good self on the turntable. Kate Bush, - new album out soon, and Katherine Jenkins. A veritable smorgasbord of talent before I incinerate the turkey and murder "Silent Night" on the banjo!. Seriously, think about it.

  • @Wayne74566 Ha Ha Ha Ha, thats the best laugh I have had all day in reading your message. I must say it woud be nice to have Rupert and White Horses re-released, however I dont think I'll start counting my royalties just yet, more's the pity.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Ms Lee. Why not re-release it?.

  • @Wayne7456 Ask the powers that be "Pye Records" they will most likely say that records are not selling these days and we may lose money in doing so. Thanks for asking.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee The powers that be tend to not invest much money in promotion, unless they are guaranteed instant profits. I'd love to see you riding high in the charts though Jackie. I could fulfil my dream of being a JL Groupie!

  • @paulreno1 Hi Paul, I would love to be riding high yet again in the charts. Not because I recorded White Horses and Rupert and about another 80 recordings on top, I still think that with all of the requests and fan mail I get that those two titles would sell like mad especially at Christmas time. I also think that there are a hell of a lot of idiots working in the wrong places. It would sure be nice to have some groupies again with you heading them up, Ha Ha Ha

    Jackie Lee..

  • @MsJackieLee We tend to forget about your other work. Those studio tapes must be sat in some vault, gathering dust. As there are over 94,000 views on this alone, there are enough fans to make a worthwhile release... and for me to get some "I love Jackie Lee" T-Shirts printed!

  • @paulreno1 If there are any more tapes out there I am sure that Steve Panter who designed my web site would know all about them.. He has a vast catalogue of most of my work that he has purchased from all over the world. He has been just a wonderful fan for many many years. If one takes into account all of the fans who have watched the videos I think it is close to one million and thats a hell of a lot. I also love the idea of a Jackie Lee tee shirt..

    Cheers,

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Hi Jackie, did you ever work with Joe Meek? I think your "Town that I live in" ( My fav of yours) has that Joe Meek sound to it, I just wondered if you had dealings with him.

    Kindest regards, Duncan...from Aberdeen xxx

  • @dunx1964 Hi Duncan, you're right, it does have a Joe Meek sound. I never did meet him as far as I can remember.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @paulreno1 You are right, as one of my dearest fans found quite a few in the archives of Abbey Road. I had no idea they had kept them. I am sure there are some more hidden away in some other studio. Although most of the ones I recorded in are now closed mores the pity. Thank you for your interest. I would love if the powers that be "Universal" were to release a new White Horses CD as they now own possess most of my 80 recordings.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Do you have any rights from your recordings? Or did you do the session and only were paid for that work. Also another question - did you overdub and harmonize with yourself on a lot of them? They sound great, even today.

  • @paulreno1 I own the rights to most of my recordings if you mean royalties from record companies. Yes I did indeed do all of my own harmonies. I've always loved harmonizing. It was my idea to do it on White Horses and I think it worked out well. Thanks for noticing.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Thank you for answering Jackie. Yes, I did mean the royalties. You must hate YouTube - as you won't get paid for anything that's uploaded here! Pity, because there are many fans of your music out there. It shows by the amount if interest your recordings bring. White Horses does sound good - and with you on there twice makes it doubly great! You should get paid for your main vocals and your harmonizing as well! That would be a nice little earner!

  • @paulreno1 Hi Paul. thank you for clarifying. The amount of royalties are minimal as the contracts we signed at that time were a laugh, if w hade only known. the record companies still haveus over a barrel, shame on them.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Hi Jackie. At the time, did you ever think your recordings would stay in the Public's mind for such a long time as they have? You have a large following of fans today. And your songs have stayed with us - etched in our memories from growing up. I suppose at that time you were working on the songs the companies didn't negotiate on the royalties.

  • @paulreno1 Hi Paul, I am so thrilled at this time of my life to have such a vast following, it truely amazes me and I love every minute of it. They did negotiate royalties of a rather small nature. Except of course White Horses where I was diddled out of my royalties by an unscrupulous person till I investigated it and was then paid only in the last couple of months royalties by Universal but they by law could only go back 6 years. Story of my life.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Hi Jackie. That's a real shame you have missed out on so many royalties - and can only go back 6 years! You have missed out during all of the other years of not getting anything at all. And "White Horses" was one of the most commercially successful recordings of your career. Your voice is very recognisable and a joy to listen to. Somehow those songs just never seem to age.

  • @paulreno1 You can say that again. A lot of other artists have gone throught same as I. I was not too smart when it came the business side of my career at that time, much to my chagrin. However I learnt a little too late.

    Cheers,

    jackie lee.

  • @johnny2o2o

Growing up in the 1970s was fine. You may have been a miserable bugger, but why criticise someone for having fond memories of that era?

  • @Brrykvn try reading my second comment smarty pants!

  • @Brrykvn Sorry, no, with apologies to the OP I will try to explain my point. I too have fond memories of being a child in the 1970s. But that is because I was a child and had good parents who cared about me. The blackouts may have been great fun to the average 5 year old (including me) but they were not great fun for the adults who lived through them. They were not great fun for the hospitals who were struggling to keep people alive. Enjoy your childhood memories but put them in perspective.

  • @johnny2o2o............. Now now boys. I think that memories are such a personal thing and if a song or whatever brings back a happy memory of somebody's childhood I dont see the harm in that. I am also sure that most parents who went through those dark times will remember a song or a tune that brought them a little happiness

too. I know for a fact my parents did.

    Jackie Lee.

  • This song has been with me for the best part of 46 years and was partly responsible for starting my Rupert collection. Going home from school for dinner and watching Rupert made the afternoon sessions go that little bit better.

Thank you for posting the video Paul and a Big Thank you to Jackie for the beautiful song.

  • @mawrupert1 You are welcome. It was a great show and I fondly remember it, and the lovely song from Jackie Lee. I think they should have kept the original song when they remade it.

  • @mawrupert1 Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I in fact was sent a replica of the original Rupert by a dear fan of mine and it now sits on my dresser in my bedroom and I say goodnight to him each night, Wasn't I the lucky one to be able to record the title song.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @johnny2o2o There have been wars in every decade, I'm not denying that. But for me, growing up in the 70's bring back happy memories, especially this song.

  • @paulreno1 for sure paul, I have good memories of the 70s too, and I always loved this song as a kid. I just think that maybe today is not as bad as you seemed to imply. BTW thanks for posting this - I didn't immediately realise you were the poster.

  • @johnny2o2o No probs Johnny.

  • Ireland's best, now living in Canada - now 75 now. Search MsJackieLee on youtube for personally here, in person.

  • @doug220766 Hello Doug, I afraid I am not very accomplished on the computer. So if you would like to send your comment to my inbox it would be much easier for me.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @PaddyGoo I will indeed have a browse and a listen. Thank you for sending me the link.

    Jackie Lee.

  • This was when children had childrens hearts, they were not corrupted by the media, A time when TV for children meant just that..

  • @tukoramerez I am afraid I have to agree with you. Children seem to be growing up before their time and thats a great shame. I do think that most of the blame goes to the media, although I also think that parents should have more control over what their children watch.. I know it must be very hard for parent in these days to cope with what is happening all around their children. Thank you for your comment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Long live Rupert!

  • @Skygypsy100 I concur, and thaks for the comment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • This is so nostalgic i am almost in tears listening to this song.

  • @simposayerman Aw, dont cry. Thank you so much for your comment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee

Oh my goodness! Ms JL! So lovely to see you on here, you already know how much happiness and looking back wistfulness you bring with this and White Horses, so I won't bang on about it... but thank you so very much. Buggar, am welling up now myself! Bloody power of music eh? By the way, check out the band Puressence, and the song Pallisades.........totally sampled Rupert in it. Hugs to you JL x

  • @msjackie Yes, thank you, from 40 odd year olds everywhere. Your performance is magical. What a beautiful voice.

I've had this song in my head all my life it seems.

  • @inglegt Thank you for the accolades, you flatterer you and I love it.

    Jackie Lee

  • @msjackie Lee.....quite simply....And from all of us..... Thank You ..for being part of our childhood..

  • @TheTaz1999 Quite simply, thank you for being a part of mine also.

    Jackie Lee

  • Do you know how many 40 somethings still get a tear in their eye when they hear "Rupert" & "White Horses" ?

I'm sure with the thousands of comments you've had you must realise how much these two songs mean to so many people. When you reach 47, you sometimes yearn for your childhood again. If you you close your eyes and listen to either of these two songs you are there again....briefly....but definitly there again.........and for that 2/3 minutes youre 8 again, and it's lovely. Thank you.

  • @JohnnyLovepants Hi Johnny what a lovely nostalgic comment, I do know what you mean and I often would like to go back to those times myself, if only. Thank you so much for your comment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Brings back good memories. Beautifully sung...I play this regularly to my 11 month old daughter who dances her heart out to it!! Bring back Rupert to TV

  • @swimmerdavid40 I would just love to see that little darling dancing to Rupert it must gladden your heart. Thank you for sharing that comment with me.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Wow huge wave of nostalgia just washed over me ! I vividly remember watching this when off from school suffering from chicken pox ! (seem to remember being made to eat copious amounts of chicken soup too yuck !) Much as I loved this and many others of the time it has to be said that it was the multi talented Jackie Lee theme songs that really made them. Thanks for the sweet memories

  • @Mikeaa1970 Chicken Pox, yuck. I had that too. I think most children had it in those days. I thank you for you lovely comment and am humbled by your words.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Such joy.....my partner have started singing this song to our dog. Lol. She is such fun 2 just like Rupert. Playing games and having fun with her friends.

  • @xr6lad Oh! that is too cute for words, I am sure she is just adorable.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Every time I watch "Rupert", I think of this song... (And my mum had a dress like this - 'charming hostess' dress circa 1972 or so...) Of course there were that song about a wedding and 'Just Like a Man', but I also seem to remember something like "I've Gotta Be With You" but Jackie Lee, too...

  • @shmuli9 You are right on all counts. The frock as we used to call them was a multi coloured silk number and I thought it was lovely when I bought at a very chic boutique on Baker Street. On viewing it now I think how could I have worn such a dress (frock) I should have had my head tested, lol. Thanks for your comment I laughed at the circa 1972.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Watching this makes me feel all warm inside. Jackie Lee you are a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice.

  • i love her music it brings back so many wonderful memories of me and my best friend loveee 41 yrs we have been friends and we loved singing this and white horses thank you jackie xxxxx

  • @mrsdaipunk My thanks to you and your friend for remembering me in such a fond way. I am truely flattered.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Jackie Lee Never got the True Recognition her Magical Voice Desserved ! Matched Only by The late Karen Carpenter. Although, I think Jackie has the edge regards versatilty in different musical styles . Both her Top ten Hits Deserved to be Number One's Thank You for posting & Jackie for Singing !!

  • @xenapgf Well thank you for the wonderful accolades. I must say I enjoyed all of my recording career. I think I must have spent three quaters of my career in the recording Studios. Not only was I a soloist, I also did a lot of backing for other artists of that time. So I was a very busy young lady. Thank you for your interest.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Hi Taz. Yes it was a different age. You could play outside without a worry. Parents were happy for their children to be playing and didn't fear for their safety. Also the TV programmes were something all the family could sit down and watch. And without video/sky recorders you had to be in to watch your favourite programme at the time it was shown. Memories of a different age. Even the power cuts were fun!

  • @paulreno1

i am so glad you put this video on ,my sister loves rupert the bear ,always have;i wish they would play these shows again.

  • @bagpuss7422 Yes, it would be good if they showed the shows again - or released them on DVD.

  • @paulreno1 Sadly some were wiped.

  • @paulreno1 You're joking?! Does Doctor Who & Terror Of The Autons ring any bells?! Such violent tea-time horror, not to mention other DW episodes that all the family could sit down to watch!

  • @paulreno1 - in fact I believe there were more murders of children in the 1960's than there are now. Brady and Hindley and so on. Parents are paranoid now.

  • @doubledeckers Although you seem to have your facts right, I still would be paranoid if I had children in this day and age. Think of all the other sick indivuals that are out there. I was lucky when I was young, although there were a few strange people they were few and far between.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @paulreno1..hi how are you...i tried to explain to my own children how we had everything but nothing back then... no computers no play stations no mobiles nothing like that at all. but what we did have was respect for our elders , manners and freedom to be able to play outside with out any fear. none of this political corectness. or health and safety nonsence. just happy days.....

  • @TheTaz1999 You hit the nail on the head as far as I am concerned. Ah! bring back those wonderful happy days.

    Jackie Lee.

  • i used to run home from school every lunch time with my gran to have my boiled egg and watch rupert. then cry my eyes out when it finished. and im now doing it again thinking about the good old days when i didnt have a care in the world... THANK YOU

  • @TheTaz1999 I know what you mean. The world was a different place back then - it seemed safer. And you are right, not having a care in the world. Only three TV channels and the only way you could record the programmes was with a cassette player near the speaker! Happy memories.

  • @paulreno1 The world is not a lot different now, it's just that we have far more interference from the state which will carry on unless we all decide to tell them to feck off.

  • @airscrew1 Ha Ha ha ha,

    Jackie Lee.

  • @paulreno1 I am 45 years old and I remember this. I loved this theme song and still do. I remember the days of the cassette recorder by the speaker and no one could speak or it would come out on the recording. They were the best days of my life. The world was a much better place then even with the power cuts. They are great memories.

  • @Davewise1965 I remember those cassette recorders they were the greatest thing since sliced bread in those days. Life did seem a better place, or is it because we didn't have a care in the world, our parents had all the worries. Whatever it was, I still miss that time in my life. Thanks so much for your comment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee You're welcome, Jackie.

  • @TheTaz1999 I just had to reply to this touching comment and say that it tugged at my heart strings. Oh for those good old days.

    Jackie Lee.

  • this song was a "bin it or spin it" on my local radio staion this afternoon "radio norfolk" i phoned in to say spin it as i remember buying it 40 years ago. i also bought "white horses" which was also by jackie. i wonder where she is now?

  • @phil13ncfc Where am I? If you must know I'm still alive and kickin. I want to thank you for requesting my Rupert reecording to be played on Radio Norfolk, if you speak to show host again say a big thank you from me. By the way thank you for buying both records.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @phil13ncfc Jackie is definitely here. And she kindly comments on the footage and any comments you have, on this video. Check out the replies on the comments here. She's a really nice person - which you don't often see. And of course a voice like an angel.

  • @paulreno1 How nice of you to say that. I love to reply in person to all of the comments that are sent to me.

I am so honored to get them after all of this time to be rememberd is something I still am amazed at.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee You are welcome Jackie. Some Entertainers wouldn't dream of commenting on YouTube. I would have loved to be one of your "groupies" back then!! I guess you'll always be fondly remembered for your beautiful renditions of all of those TV shows. They are timeless.

  • @paulreno1 You would have been one of my very special "Groupies" ,lol.

    Jasckie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Gladly! Give me a call when you are back on tour lol. As long as you don't call me one of your "Rupettes" lol

  • @phil13ncfc Hi there, I am still in the land of the living and hope to be here for a very long time to come. I now live in BC Canada. However my heart still lies in the UK. Thanks for asking and thanks a lot for your comment.

    Jackie Lee

  • great days.

  • @rabsmiff Yes indeed I agree with you they were great days.

    Jackie lee.

  • I love the song, and I love the hair, and I love the dress. In fact I love it all.

  • @Squallfie66 Ha Ha Ha, I love this comment.

    Jackie Lee..

  • I love the old cartoons. Like for example theres: rupert bear, a busy world by richard scarry, little bear, kipper(maybe not as much?). Those old cartoons are classics. Like disney is good and all. Don't get me wrong. I love disney. But when I watch these cartoons I always get this weird feeling like Iam in them. Sometimes I feel like Iam in a log cabin(I like log cabins. rofl). I feel that those cartoons have a strong power to cheer you up.

  • If I'm not mistaken, Rupert the Bear was shown on Wednesday lunchtimes when I was at primary school. I remember rushing home for lunch to watch it and I always loved the fantastic title song.

A shame the original Rupert the Bear TV show is not available on DVD

  • @stubroon I tend to agree with you about the original not being on DVD. I have no idea why not. I also think it a shame that the original song which was written for the original Rupert series is not being played for the new Rupert series. I have no idea why that has happened either.

    Cheers,

    Jackie Lee.

  • Oh Jackie! just had a good cry at this song..reminds me of dancing round to it with my godson, ( who's 42 now) he knew all the words at two! also loved your White Horses, takes me back to my teens! you might like to know Liza Tarbuck played it on radio 2 on Saturday, and said all ladies of a certain age would have a tear in their eye, and I did...where did all those years go?

  • @LadyGmarilyn Thank you for those lovely memories, Yes I heard that Liza played the record recently. I myself cannot believe that my recordings of Rupert and White Horses are still being played to this day. I am truely flattered to say the least.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee I doubt you are actually THE jackie lee. lol

  • @Dimunic Then why if I am not the real me would I take time answer all of the comments that are sent to me not only on this video but many many more. Believe it or not I am still alive and kicking and now abide in BC Canada.

    The real "Jackie Lee".

  • @MsJackieLee Because, you are probably a poser. :V Just saying. Ived had alot of people pose as celebrity stars. Such as hannah montana, nick jonas, etc. If I recalled; my friend said he was talking to one of them. SO either make a video and say you are the real jackie lee, stating your name. And stating the videos comment and proof you are her. So yeah. lol

  • @Dimunic Sad sad loser. Probably watching kids vids for all the wrong reasons.

  • @denpunk666mitsos Lol shut the fuck up kid. You barely know me. Talk about yourself first and point out your flaws before you try to point someone elses flaws.

  • This is simply charming.

  • @KRISPYKWENT29 Thank you Kris. Much appreciated.

    Jackie Lee

  • @MsJackieLee , beautiful voice miss lee, loved the bear as a nipper , in fact this is my phone ringtone ....sad eh,still got the vinyl record in perfect condition the lad himself tattooed on my arm xxx

  • @meladben A tattoo of Rupert, imagine that, it must look awsome. I had no idea that you could get it on a phone ring tone, thats interesting. You certainly love your Rupert and I love him too as he was very good to me.

    Jackie Lee.

  • What a voice!!!

  • @plinth4291 Thank you kindly.

    Jackie Lee.

  • No matter how old i will be this takes me back to a time when tv and the world was to me innocent thank you for bringing back a time when to me the world was full of good music good tv and well good i remember white horses with the same affection the long summer school holidays sheer magic

  • @creccy I do tend to agree with you about the good music and excellent TV and also good TV series songs. I miss those wonderful day's myself.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Great stuff indeed......Huge melodies and superb vocals....I'm in a horrible Black Metal band but you just have to dig the catchy 60's melodies on loads of TV themes...I was very very young when Rupert and White Horses were on TV in the 70'S but they left a lasting impression...Pity TV themes are so nondescript these days... ..Jackie Lee has a truly wonderful voice...

  • @bahn667 Well thank you so much for your delightful comment. I do agree with you about the nondiscript music

written for TV, especially childrens series. There is not one tune I could hum or remember the lyrics of, they are all so unmemorable.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Love this song and Jackie Lee's vocals ... puts me in a good mood every time.

  • @ianzxcvb Thank you for commenting on my Rupert recording. I hope your still in a good mood.

    Cheers,

    Jackie Lee.

  • HOW THIS BRINGS BACK HAPPY DAYS THANK YOU

  • @creccy May I say thank you for posting your comment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • I still have a couple of my old Rupert books from the 1970's, but I don't recall the series at all (if it was on ITV, that's why - to this day I rarely watch ITV)

The song, however, is unforgetable. We all used to sing it back then :)

Lovely to see the lady behind the lovely voice. Also, the 'Barbarella' song sounds great. I'll check that out again soon :)

  • @MalquiLans Thank you again for your flattering comment.

    All the best,

    jackie Lee.

  • Uh..."chocolate-covered CHILD", I meant to say......

    Oh, don't you hate
