@52jamaica Next time I hope I get some warning before Indiana goes Democrat when I heard it did I almost splattered my TV screen with the soft drink I was drinking.
His key to winning Indiana was to make the rural areas close, (only lost by 11 pts) as well as the suburbs (only lost by 9 pts, 26 pts lower than Kerry), and lastly running up the numbers in these areas:
Marion County (64%-35%) - Indianapolis,
Lake County (67%-33%) - Gary/Crown Point,
St. Joseph County (58%-41%) - South Bend
Monroe County (66%-33%) - Bloomington
along with winning college campuses in Anderson, Muncie, West Lafayette.
Obama won Indiana and North Carolina because he started campaigning in those states early and the Republicans didn't take him seriously. When they finally realized Obama was a real threat in those states, their response was too little too late. Obama had lots of resources and volunteers in both states; McCain had next to nothing.
He will with his amazing leadership heal this country like he ran his campaign,, it will take time but we will come through this and make history,, I loved helping him do it and will continue...
I was very shocked when Obama won Indiana Mccain was slightly ahead in the polls on election day. It was indeed the biggest suprise of the night.INDIANA THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR GIVING VOTES TO OBAMA!!!!!!!
This morning I sat down in five hotels writing about GOD,LOVE & WORLD PEACE in 11 languages & handing my works over to 10 glorious individuals representing 7 nations.
4 of them were in the investment sector & adore my partners Albert Arnold Gore Jr (Al Gore) & Sir Richard Branson. Google those names with World Peace.
I shall continue for PEACE is what most of the world desires.
I enjoy Manhattan for its diversity & being wired to the internet & google.
My mom kept asking me, "What should I be paying attention to during the returns?" I kept telling her, Indiana is among the sates with the earliest poll closings. I told her if Indiana is not called by 8pm, Obama will win the election. I always knew Indiana was gonna be close, but I NEVER expected it to actually go to Obama. Truly Stunning, and anyone from the state will tell you so too.
The Democratic Tribune called this one from the jump. They kept reporting how Obama had superior organization and a damaging ground game in Indiana - while McCain refused to campaign there and had ZERO campaign offices.
Indiana was the surprise. I didn't think that Obama could win Ohio and Florida. The vote was so close in Missouri. I believed that if Obama won Indiana he could win Missouri. He almost won Montana and made it close in Georgia.
@luvs2teach00 He only lost Missouri by 3,436 vote's. So he didn't lose it by much. I think we're going to see a repeat of this to. I've always said if he gets the economy jumpstarted and job growth starts to go up. He's re-elected easily. Because lets face it, the Republican Party and the Tea Party can fight over health care all they want. But it doesn't do much good if people don't have job's to be able to afford health care.
I am proud to have lived and voted in Indiana all my life and I am very jubilant that I voted for Obama in this first time that Indiana has gone 'blue' since 1964! Lyndon Johnson paved the way in 64 with the Executive Orders for Civil Rights and Barack Obama is that final result!!! Both years, 64 and 08, Indiana goes Democratic! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gee you think he will win indy again...uh ya sure...he is only what under 30% approval there

I figured Obama would win Georgia before he won Indiana. That was definitely the surprise of the night for me.
And like you I didn't think he would carry Florida. I kinda saw Ohio coming, but I never expected it to get called as early as it did.
