I want to know something. I heard one Jefferson Pepper song on the radio a few times. It's a christmas song called Bethlehem, PA. It's a story told by a trucker who was forced to work early christmas morning, he stops at a weigh station and calls his pregnant wife, who tells him that she is going into labor. He immediatly turns the truck around to head back, with only a single star to guide him. As he gets close, a red light appears on his dashboard indicating he has a problem.

Song titles are not something that can be legally copywritten. Which is fortunate, really. Otherwise we would have only one song called "Breathe" instead of at least six.

I actually don't like this song. But I refuse to say something mean about the guy who wrote or performed it. I am sure he would not like stuff I like.

1st off the song was not sung in iraq, it was recorder in good ole usa, it was just about the iraq war. and christmas is a figurative term mening a time to give and the song shows Jeffs view of what we "gave" iraq. We gave them a raw deal, jeff is compassionate towrd the civilian iraqis. And as for the soldier this is about he is the best patriot i know. He will fight but only after he makes every attempt for negotiating peace. you confuse patriotism with the red neck kill em all mentality

I feel for this soldier, if this is what he feels. However, we did not go to Fallujah to "win their hearts and minds" and we DID get most of the civilians out of the city. The enemy ruled Fallujah. They were killing our guys. We feel terrible about any innocents hurt or killed in combat. But remember, those killed were killed in a battle with monsters that TARGET innocent people. Iraq is NOT a war. It is a CAMPAIGN in a war on terrorism. And we are winning.

In this country if anybody starts talking about the troops you get people reflexively giving us "God Bless America", but the song is clearly saying what America has done in Iraq doesn't deserve God's blessing. This is an excellent representation of the mixed emotions that the troops must feel as they try to do their job and represent their country. The video and song capture the sadness that all the troops must feel.

How true. We tend to forget the iraqi people, and that is what we fought for. I want the best of both worlds...Our troops home and an Iraq that is free from terror and provides a safe society where children grew up to learn how to better leaders.
