Like that 'inside baseball' look of the engineer shifting into reverse. Question: are the piston rods stainless steel? A helluva glint off that shiny steel. Great work, Skip.
@Nec1228 I think its called a tripod. A decent tripod with a fluid head will set you back a sizeable sum of money. It is also a must have for video. So too is a zoom controller that plugs in to the camera and sits down on the tripod pan/tilt handle.
This trucker's opinion is that THAT trucker is an idiot. If the signals are operating any the headlight is in sight, you STOP.
Another beautiful video, Skip.

Thanks for the video Skip. Very educational. It's not often one gets to see the reversing mechanism in operation.
What I have always wondered is, is there a way to advance the steam valve to open earlier for more efficiency at high road speeds?

That trucker messed up a lot of peoples shots!

I'd like to see you get a tie shot of this or another steam engine, at about that speed...

With the scene being surrounded by steam fans, can you imagine the reaction towards the truck driver if that happened? >: O

What a beautiful beast of a machine. The conservationists have certainly done an awesome job. It looks like new! Great vid!

@racerboy23432 Trust me, I don't think 3985 has much to worry about. Just the truck.
foroke1 1 year ago
@foroke1 yay it might damage the front end a bit
racerboy23432 1 year ago
@racerboy23432 I'm sure 3985 would be fine; the truck on the other hand...
