  • The vid looks professionally done. Excellent job.

  • did you try the pearly gates by seymour duncan? and how do they compare to the alnico?

  • No, I haven't ever used Pearly Gates. Sorry. The Alnico II Pro's give you that basic, classic Strat sound. Not overwound, but just a touch hotter than standard Strat pickups. Better tone though.

  • could you put up a video of you playing with the red lace sensor with plenty of distortion, i'm planning on buying it for myself this christmas, so i would really appreciate it.

  • I have the same hardware on my strat. It does not stay in tune when using the wammy. Do you have the same problem? If not any tips?

  • I don't use the tremolo. I have 5 springs on the bridge and it's bottomed out against the body like a fixed bridge so I'm not sure how it would behave with the whammy bar. I would say that if you in fact have the LSR roller nut and the locking tuners, then your tuning issues probably lie in the string saddles. Upgrading your bridge (or at least the saddles) would probably solve the problem. There are graphite saddles out there that are pretty nice.

  • Hello. Great Video, great Cam! Does anybody know if the HV30 is a FULL HD cam?

  • Thanks!

HV30 is 1440x1080 resolution. 1:1.33 aspect ratio. Some people consider "full" HD to be 1920x1080, but the HV30's res is considered 1080i HD technically.

  • Thank you! If the HV30 is considered to be 1080i then it's not Full HD cause Full HD is 1920 x 1080p. I think... Anyway, I love the HV30!

  • Well, being interlaced vs. progressive is not the determining factor in whether a camera is HD. You're talking the same number of pixels, but interlaced fields (i) vs. progressive frames (p). It's the pixel count that determines HD vs. SD. 1080p is still an emerging HD format, but no "more" HD than 1080i.

  • I forgot to add that the HV30 has 3 shooting modes: aside from the typical 60i, there is also 24p and 30p to choose from which are progressive frame rates.

  • Yes, I know (mine is the PAL version and has "only" 50i and 25p) Thank you for your reponse but I'm not asking if the camera is HD, the question is is it FULL HD. I heard FULL HD is 1080p. The camera, even if I record in 25p, is still 1080i, right?

  • "Full HD" is really just a marketing point for televisions. The meaning is that it is capable of handling all HD formats i.e. 720p, 1080i, 1080p, etc. A 1080i television is not considered "Full HD" because it cannot handle 1080p playback. However, before the 1080p format came along, 1080i WAS considered "Full HD." So under that rationale, the HV30 certainly is not "Full HD" as it is not capable of recording the 1080p format. But it's more a matter of semantics than one of imaging capabilities.

  • Really nice (customized) strat, great looking at. Enjoyed the music too!!

  • Thanks! The music is by Marconi Union. Google them, they are awesome.

  • Be sure to watch the hi-quality version....

  • definitely! How would you describe the tone with the LSR roller nut? Is it harsher? I'm thinking of putting a LSR on my strat.

  • It doesn't really affect the tone so much as it affects the sustain. Between the LSR and the locking tuners, this guitar sustains for days! It'll stay in tune for even longer too. The main benefit of the LSR is the fact that when you bend strings there's no nut binding. I highly recommend it, but upgrade to the Schallers if you do it to really get the full benefit.

  • How do you install these two things? I was thinking about getting a roller nut and locking tuners on my strat. Is it something I should leave to the professionals (its my only guitar.. Couldn't stand to see it hurt)?

  • Well, unless you are very good with a router, I would leave the LSR roller nut installation to a professional. The nut slot has to be widened to accomodate the LSR. The Schallers on the other hand are pretty straightforward. Depending on what type of tuners you have right now, you may or may not have to do a little bit of drilling.

  • Thank you!
