@lthebault Counter doesn't reset the combo either. Actually it adds one because you automatically hit him after a counter. The only thing that resets the combo is not connecting with one of your moves (or waiting too long). I once played through a challenge room without using strikes just to see if I could. You just counter and evade until your have enough combo to do a special takedown, then repeat.
@SonnyD38 if you look close, theres no warning over the enemys head indicating for a counter... he is on hard. my guessing is that your on easy, because on hard, theres only a small chance you would keep your flowing combo

My first play-through on medium victory, I walked right passed them, I was ready for a fight but since all 16 of them didn't attack I just leftem alone. But when I looked through the achievements halfway through hard difficulty I was like....DAMN!!!, I have to do this without that little...spidersense thing. Oh well, I beat it anyway, I placed explosive gels by everyone on the floor, and blew as many of them away as I could......still took me a couple of tries though.
I didnt know about this achievement but yeah I did beat the shit out all of them too, lol. they were like , u r on the main list. I was like "STFU asswhole!" then they all gang up on me n I died. o__o
I did this on hard after 3rd try. Use the explosive spray helps spray it 3 times on the floor so you can knock all the guards out then take down like 3-4 guys. the rest just evade a whole lot, use your combo batarangs and the throw move helps.. just kick their ass basically lool
you dont have to beat up the guards at the front gate, the scene of them talking to you is pretty comical. you just have to KO the henchmen in the hall after walking through. The henchmen outside wont even attack you :)
i love this game the only part i don't like is that you cant fight the joker again unless u start a new story and i have wanted to so bad that i have beaten this game 4 times
How come no one else is genuinely good at this game? I hope the developers don't dumb down the combat in Arkham City, because that would be a damn shame. Games need easy-to-learn, difficult-to-master gameplay like this.

lol, good job on the achievement! What I did when i got inside to bust the rest of 'em was walk between all of them, putting explosive gel equidistant to each other, got my distance then *BOOM**BOOM**BOOM*! Funniest thing ever done on any batman game I've played.
plant e-jell 3 times near the people at the door. back away explode it.
now do 3 ground take downs and kick the lone guys ass. go inside. on each side every 3 inmates place a e-jell on the groud. explode them and ground take down as many as can before they get up. then just punch and jump the rest.

@Marioiswicked You only have one chance to get this achievement. This chance xD Right before entering that building to take down Joker. If you finished and didn't get it, you'll have to start all over and work your way to that part again.

So I killed the guys outside cuz I thought they were gonna attack me, like ussual, but when i got inside and saw the guys clapping and all that, I kinda regreted killing the ones outside cuz I realized they were not going to attack me, now I regret not killing the guys inside because if i want that achievement now I have to finish the game again, on hard x.x..
@wingdevil A more interesting way is if you don't kill the henchmen outside at first. They say you aren't on the guest list, before actually checking it. Then they mock you that you're the guest of honour.

Dumb question... do you have to be on Hard difficulty to get the achievement? I already beat it on hard and I got all the riddles done except one I can't get so I'm starting over anyway. I just don't want to beat it again on hard when I can do it on an easier difficulty.
I missed this on my first time through on Normal. I had to complete it on Hard mode. Argh. It was almost as frustrating as Ninja Gaiden II. I did use the "gel" trick, though. It helps out for the initial takedowns.

I am playing on hardcore difficulty on this game and its harder then it looks. Henchmen hit faster and sometimes you can't react fast enough to counter. There are times you hit the counter button but the game doesn't register it sometimes.
Hardcore difficulty makes four henchmen a nuisance. Its hard not to get hit once. I bet you never even played it on that setting.
You probably played on easy or something. Stop acting like a fucktard.
Probably because you are mashing the buttons. I did the same thing when I played it. I could barely get a 20 hit combo and that was with the help of a titan henchman. Slow it down when you play and pick your targets carefully and you will get better.
I sprayed explosive gel along the corridor and then did take downs on 3 while they were stunned. It helps to whittle down the numbers before you start fighting.
You can actually get the party pooper achievement and the 40 combo achievement on these guys if you haven't already. You need to have upgraded to 2x critical combo strike though. I got both achievements that way.
At first I just casually walked up to the four guys because they didn't charge me, so, like Batman, I didn't start a fight. But when the guy started being an ass all sarcastically going, "Let's see, B... Bane..." I instinctively just punched him in the face, lol. This game had some really funny moments.
This Achievement is actually very rewarding after you take out 20 guys on Hard difficulty. You feel satisfied taking on 20 guys as Batman.

So I killed the guys outside cuz I thought they were gonna attack me, like ussual, but when i got inside and saw the guys clapping and all that, I kinda regreted killing the ones outside cuz I realized they were not going to attack me, now I regret not killing the guys inside because if i want that achievement now I have to finish the game again, on hard x.x..

@wingdevil A more interesting way is if you don't kill the henchmen outside at first. They say you aren't on the guest list, before actually checking it. Then they mock you that you're the guest of honour.
That is until you go Bat-shit crazy on them!

Dumb question... do you have to be on Hard difficulty to get the achievement? I already beat it on hard and I got all the riddles done except one I can't get so I'm starting over anyway. I just don't want to beat it again on hard when I can do it on an easier difficulty.

I missed this on my first time through on Normal. I had to complete it on Hard mode. Argh. It was almost as frustrating as Ninja Gaiden II. I did use the "gel" trick, though. It helps out for the initial takedowns.

I love this game. It captures Batman perfectly. Its like a mix of The Dark Knight and Batman the Animated series.

Wow Rockboy. You are a major geek.
I am playing on hardcore difficulty on this game and its harder then it looks. Henchmen hit faster and sometimes you can't react fast enough to counter. There are times you hit the counter button but the game doesn't register it sometimes.
Hardcore difficulty makes four henchmen a nuisance. Its hard not to get hit once. I bet you never even played it on that setting.
You probably played on easy or something. Stop acting like a fucktard.

its easier in the hallway part if you just lay explosives, and then walk around KOing the guys who get knocked down. less combat that way

Probably because you are mashing the buttons. I did the same thing when I played it. I could barely get a 20 hit combo and that was with the help of a titan henchman. Slow it down when you play and pick your targets carefully and you will get better.

I sprayed explosive gel along the corridor and then did take downs on 3 while they were stunned. It helps to whittle down the numbers before you start fighting.

You can actually get the party pooper achievement and the 40 combo achievement on these guys if you haven't already. You need to have upgraded to 2x critical combo strike though. I got both achievements that way.

At first I just casually walked up to the four guys because they didn't charge me, so, like Batman, I didn't start a fight. But when the guy started being an ass all sarcastically going, "Let's see, B... Bane..." I instinctively just punched him in the face, lol. This game had some really funny moments.
