  • I will trust someone's opinion if they have "M.D." behind their name....

  • i use it daily, no problem here!

  • @schildty12345 me too.

  • Used Retin A for 32 years. NO wrinkles and I am 48. I use Retin A on face, chest, back. arms and legs just like lotion, works great.

  • @MansMan918 : How much percent retin a do u use? Do u use the ointment, lotion, or the gel type? Any particular brand or u just use the generic? Thanks in advance.

  • @MansMan918 hi.....i just got retin-a 0.05%....and im too scare to use it....but want to try it out. Can u tell me -HOW and WHEN TO APPLY IT SAFELY...pls....thank u in advance.

  • @cutepare Hi, I know you were asking somebody else, but I've used both Retin-A and Renova (currently using Renova, but have used Retin-A too in the past). First cleanse your face w/a gentle cleanser & pat dry. Use a pea-sized amount of the cream (that's for your whole face; dot the "pea" on your forehead, both cheeks, and chin to distribute). Gently rub it in until absorbed completely. Avoid your eye area & the creases around your nose; also don't get it too close to your mouth. Hope that helps!

  • @visceralanding Thank u sooooo much for your replied. Yes i applied moisturizer on top of retin-a but i didnt wait 20-30min tough!!!!! I will starting doing it for sure. Yes i also applied sunscreen everyday after the moisturizer. So basically my steps are

1.cleanser 2.toner 3.retin-a 4.moisturizer 5.sunscreen(nite time) as for day-time - i used same steps 1-5 and then 6. foundation 7. makeup powder and apply make up routine....is that the right steps i should be follows? thanks in advance..:)

  • @cutepare You're welcome! Glad I was able to help some :-) No need to apply sunscreen at night––only in the AM. At night, you would just apply the Retin-A, followed by your moisturizer. (And again, just wait about 20 min or so to allow the prescription adequate time to fully absorb; it may actually 'feel' like it's absorbed into your skin w/in a couple of minutes, but for it to be optimally effective you want at least 20 min. before applying anything else over top.)

  • @cutepare forgot to add that you want to apply this type of cream in the evening, before bedtime. In the beginning, your skin will feel tight and may feel dry, flaky and/or irritated. It's ok to apply a moisturizer on top of the Retin-A (or Renova). Wait about 20-30 min after applying the Rx before doing so (nothing with "treatment" though, just a simple cream or lotion to hydrate). Make sure you wear sunscreen daily, no matter the season (in other words EVERY SINGLE DAY – NO EXCEPTIONS!) :-)

  • how is she an expert??? you need a medical degree to be a skin expert.

  • @jrr1234567890 i hate people who refer to themselves as EXPERTS.. You are correct, experts are doctors.

  • @jrr1234567890 her white lab coat makes her an expert..duh

  • yeah, you can buy it in mexico for 16 dollars maybe.

  • you dont have to have prescription for this if you go to mexico and you can also get it for about 1/3 the price

  • wow i just started usin this and i stopped used it every night peeled off my skin made it all red and itchy...guess ima use every third night

  • I have used Retin A for 25 years. 47 years old and not a single line or wrinkle on my face. Three years ago started using Retin A like lotion on chest arms trunk and legs with great results. Retin A also works on lips. NEVER use Retin A has a daytime product.

  • what DR let you use this for 25 years?????????

  • A very good doctor. I have been acne prone since 12 years of age then I had an organ transplant and was put on immunosuppressice drugs which can make you very prone to skin cancers and..came along retin A micro. The best part is Reti A is the best anti aging cream on the market. Living proff here!

  • How often do you use it on your face? every night? or every other night? also how often for the body? great tip about using on the lips.. I didnt know you could do that, I'm just about to start this week. You sound like your looking great.. thanks.

  • Kool! I want it! what % are you using please? x

  • where do they sell it and for how much?

  • @irukaio I buy mine from batabeauty.co.uk u dont need a prescription i think

  • is this like a spot treatment?

  • Yay! im so happy i have retin-a perscription.

  • o and use vanicream for moisturizer free of oils dyes and chemicals and fragrence awesome stuff its at walgreens for about 15 bucks

  • i use retin a gel 0.025 works great for my acne use every other night i agree because that stuff will make you peel like crazy. burns like a sob as well. you will notice new membranes on the surface but they clear up. its all the same thing but it comes in cream and gel gel being the best.

  • .1% of the retin-a cream is what im currently using.

  • omg! retin-a and renova are both tretinoin. why did she say you can find it with natural skin care products. geez. they are both rx products. im 23 and have been on retin-a and tazorac since 17. i love the results and i get an enormous amount of compliments on my skin. i use it every other night now.

  • does it help get rid of brown marks from acne? like when i had acne and didnt do anything to it and went away it just turned into a brown mark, but it's not like a ice pick scar or anything.

  • yes thats what im using it for and it is seriously working, i didnt think a cream existed that can get rid of acne marks.. but im using the .5%

  • what strength are you using

  • Do you know if I could use retin-a if my skin is super sensitive? I have redness. Thanks

  • Renova is better for your skin!

  • Retin-A and Renova both contain the same active ingredient, Tretinoin. The difference is the base (inactive ingredients) and that Renova has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of lines and wrinkles. I do wish skin care "experts" would do their research before giving out the wrong information!

  • I am currently researching about all retinol products and you are 100% right! Retin-A and Renova have exactly the same ingredients just different bases! Renova is for drier skin because the base is made more moisturizing but they say it will not be that great for oilier and acne prone skins as it might cause break outs.

  • YT is full of bugs! Doesnt put the replies right. And my previous comment was addressed to

    jepowelldotcom .

  • Yes, Renova has a more emollient base to combat peeling/drying in contrast to Retin-A. They both contain tretinoin though.

  • Do you know if a person has sensitive skin/redness could use retin-a like me? Thanks

  • Yes, retin-a actually helps with skin redness/rosacea but you should get the lowest dosage so as to not aggravate your skin :)

  • Thanks for the info!

I've been reading about retinoids in Dr.Leslie Baumann's book "The Skin Type Solution".

    They sound like amazing substances!

I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do with the fine lines which striate my forehead.

sigh...why didn't I wear sunscreen while I was working construction and tree planting.

...well. i guess because i just didn't know how damaging the sun's rays are.

    i do now. : (

I wish some kindly adults had told me irrefutably that the sun wrinkles skin.

  • can i use Differin 0.1 also with Retin a on every third night? and i am also taking Droxy capsule everynight.

  • MILF!

  • True dat bro!

  • its ok to use retin-a with accutane???

  • No!!! Do not use ANYTHING else while on accutane. Accutane is pretty much VERY high dosage of Vitamin A (retin-a) and adding any more to yourself can be extremely dangerous

  • I'm on this right now- 3rd day and LOTS of peeling, burning, and feelings of dryness throughout my face. I really hope I get used to this-sometimes things need to get worse before it gets better..im hoping that this is the case.

  • I've been using olive oil on my skin everyday for about an hours before I wash it off,(wash my face at night, slather on olive oil, then wash it off an hour or longer later then retin A) and I have absolutely no irritation from the retin a...i'm also on my 3rd day. If you don't want to use oil, be sure you are using a good moisturizer everyday.

  • doesn't olive oil break you out?

  • I really thought it would! Of course I'm in my 30's so it might break someone out who has acne prone skin. I'm using the retin a for anti aging not acne. I have found that the more moisturized my skin is,

  • the more balanced it is though and the less it breaks out. I now use it 2-3 times a week when I don't use the retin a and leave it on all night. LOVE IT!Try it on just a part of your face and see if it works for you. Cleopatra used it, so I guess it can't be all that bad : )

  • Make sure to wear sunscreen daily if you are using Retin-A.
