You had Jodeci, PM Dawn, Toni Braxton, Mary J Blige, New Jack/Jill music, real rap & ALL OTHER kinds of good music on the radio. I won't say the 90s was the best decade for music, but one of the last before radio became flooded with talentless, but pretty wastes. Remember when you had only a few crap artists on the radio...instead of being drowned & beaten down with autotuned, unimaginative mediocrity?
@babybkesha I do agree with you on most part, but there are great bands in every generations, even to day if you do a little research (consider our self lucky that we have the internet now a day) you'll find that there are a lot of bands that you've never heard of putting out great musics (all genre). @anime262 Yes there is great music in every generation. This is great example of music that became commercially successfully during an era when "alternative rock" was ruling the airwaves. I'm a huge fan of so called "alternative rock", but I'm glad I heard this and it made it to the top. I read some quote from Kurt Cobain, he said that his music was just repackaged, nothing truly great about it and hip hop would become the dominant genre in the coming future - something like that.
When I hear old songs like this I always say this is when music was good. I get so sick of saying that lol. Why can't music be good now. I shouldn't have to listen to songs that came out when I was 13 to hear good music. I swear the 90's was the last decade of good music. This is a classic.........

Oh my God: This (Soundtrack) and the "Mo' Money" Soundtrack. I turned 13 the year both were released and am proud to say that both were a part of my childhood. The Summer of 1992 was amazing musically. THIS was what got airplay on radio. I would not see that today, mainly because the artists were not afraid of being vulnerable, romantic, and admitting they were wrong, and didn't treat women like shit.

@EFunkRock Have to agree. I turned 14 that yr and spent a summer in DC, first time out of TX. You had Jodeci, PM Dawn, Toni Braxton, Mary J Blige, New Jack/Jill music, real rap & ALL OTHER kinds of good music on the radio. I won't say the 90s was the best decade for music, but one of the last before radio became flooded with talentless, but pretty wastes. Remember when you had only a few crap artists on the radio...instead of being drowned & beaten down with autotuned, unimaginative mediocrity?

@babybkesha I do agree with you on most part, but there are great bands in every generations, even to day if you do a little research (consider our self lucky that we have the internet now a day) you'll find that there are a lot of bands that you've never heard of putting out great musics (all genre). And you have to keep in mind that what's good for you might not be for others, everybody has their own preferences. Peace.

@anime262 Yes there is great music in every generation. This is great example of music that became commercially successfully during an era when "alternative rock" was ruling the airwaves. I'm a huge fan of so called "alternative rock", but I'm glad I heard this and it made it to the top. I read some quote from Kurt Cobain, he said that his music was just repackaged, nothing truly great about it and hip hop would become the dominant genre in the coming future - something like that.

When I hear old songs like this I always say this is when music was good. I get so sick of saying that lol. Why can't music be good now. I shouldn't have to listen to songs that came out when I was 13 to hear good music. I swear the 90's was the last decade of good music. This is a classic.........
