  • lol store is "pen" anyone? buy pen? lol

  • Do you have to have a filter????

  • Do you happen to sell pens? LOL... -.-

  • hi my name is mecha185 and can you breed bettas in a 5 gallon tank

  • Next on ExpertVillgage, how to cover your sneeze.

  • anodia "AKA" anakerouse

ow yeah that clears things up

  • pen

  • how much degrees is 72 degreess farinhiehgt

  • @ProWilsonTan 25-27

  • Wow, a good expertvillage video o.O

  • i got 2 bettas how can i tell them a part ????

  • @MrEnrique615 the male had a long tail

and the female had a shorter tail

  • @Blinkdelete lol no plakats males can have shorter tail ;p so unless they're long finned types...plakats are a lot more difficult to tell at times but you check for the pectoral fins, ovi(egg spot), and anal fin which in my opinion is a lot more rectangular if they're plakat females

  • @TheDarkPlakat tnks bro

  • Water temp for Betas should be mid-to high 80's. That's their natural temp in the natural habitat. I've found this to be very helpful with tanked Betas.

  • instead of the filter just turn it off and remove the eggs to a different tank

take a cup and scoop out water and put it into a different tank

  • did he say 70 - 72 degree's fahrenheit?? its a tropical fish you amateur, they breed in 80 degree F water temperature. watch my videos, i've actually successfully bred bettas and 70 - 72 is way to cold.

  • @ThaiBettas i'm confused

  • are pet store bettas good for breeding?

  • Geeez! He is soooo hot!!

  • How much do you have to wait for the female to be ready?.......

  • Next on .ExpertVillage, How to Wipe your ass

  • check out mrsnakeboy1998's videos

  • thanks nice info...

  • @expertvillage i super glued a rock to the bottom of a plant, if i put it in the tank would this be harmful to my fish? thanks in advance

  • Can halfmoon breed with betta

  • my betta is blue its a boy. and my other betta is black and its a female can i mate them?

  • @kimaly11 Sounds like you could but make sure to condition them to each other in seperate tanks, get fry food immedietly get at least a ten gallon so the fry can grow out there and you can do the mating in there. I recommend checking out Bettafish . com for more information. Everyone there is super helpful.

  • does both male and female betta must be of the same color???

  • @dunearn23 Of course not! What do you even ask a question like that?

  • @silvija3444 why*

  • @dunearn23 do people have to be the same skin hair and eye color to have kids?

  • About how many fish survive after this? Like, not being eaten, and actually grow up? I really want to try this, but i don't really want a huge amount of bettas.

  • @Phenguinz Typically? At least one hundred. Maybe two hundred fry.

  • rofl he said anal on 1:37 and then coughed XD

  • how soon do you feed the male after he's spawned her and deposited the eggs in the nest ? This part always scares me. I hate when they eat the eggs .

  • my betta is dieing... he dosent get up to swim..and hes kind of loseing his color! ):

  • & there tanks are small also.

  • Okay, i have a dark blue (bigger fish) & light kinda pearl pink beat fish (smaller fish) they both have seprate tanks, no filter. i wash it once a week. i want to breed them? but i thought when you put them together they fight???? like how would i do this?

  • This sucker's electrical. But I need a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity I need.

  • my male betta is a lot biger than my female will that eFEKt breeding them?

  • @pinkjack1994 that's a good question because the smaller females could need more time to condition, mature, develop eggs etc. Is her white ovipositor showing? They will only mate under right conditions. Otherwise his being a big dude should be fine.

  • stupid advertisement

  • i like how the open sign is broke lol

  • @skateboardB2000 its not open its pen lol (:

  • @skateboardB2000 its not broke its a pen sign :P

  • can u use a 5 gallon or smaller tank

  • I love your videos and you as well.

  • small tip fix that open sigh on the back

  • Can you put 2 male bettas in a 10 gallon fish tank??

  • @sincladutch no they will fight and kill each other.

  • @chickenTaco456 But a male wont kill a female??

  • @sincladutch You will need a see through aquarium divider for the tank. Then add the female betta onto the other side of the divider so that the male and female betta can see one another, but can't make contact. If you place a male and female betta together before the female is ready to spawn he will kill her. i will pm you the link to a site thats should help you because its too much to write in a comment box :)

  • @chickenTaco456 Can you send me the link too? ^_^ Thanks.

  • Good to see on your VDO, I am bettas breeder & seller from Thailand, This good to see that.

  • hey the fish store is pen now

  • hey were do u buy micro worms i have 6 betta and i dont know what to do man and my betta wont make bubble

  • why is the water blue on that small fish bowl??

  • @sayurasem it all magic

  • how many eggs are laid approximately?

  • how many eggs are laid approximately?

  • So Are u suppose to keep the male in the in ten tank? for how long ?

  • I read that the temperature has to be no colder than 78 degrees...and he said 70 to 72...so what is it?

  • Wait i'm confused i was watching this video up here and didn't say anything about a 10 gallon tank and if you have a fish bowl that doesn't have a filter are you required to have a sponge filter? Also this is my first time and i need help! Please reply, thanks.

  • @kinzykinz101 If you don't have a filter and are keeping a beta in a fish bowl then you shouldn't be breeding fish.

  • Okay if your gonna teach people how to breed a fish at least you could pronounce the name of the fish correctly. It is pronounced Beh-tuh...not Bay-tuh...standard English even explains that a vowel followed by 2 consonants is short. Most of the techniques explained here were accurate although temp should be more at 78 degrees F.

  • @Intimidator71 there is such a thing as an accent..

  • i thought the male betta keeps the fry from falling too far 0.0

  • the only thing this guy knows is betta fish are not birds

  • THX!

  • My female betta lay egg without male

(i put the female betta in a glass in male aquarium later i check the aquarium that there are some egg in the glass)

    What happened??

    Plis tell me.

  • @LordNessie it was pregnant when u got it or u just jacked off to ur own fish

  • @panda100123

    Don't be immature. :/

  • @LordNessie

What happened is very common. It's not uncommon that some females will lay their eggs if they go a long time without spawning.Other will reabsorb the eggs.No worries.

  • Thanks for the GREAT info!! :)

  • my female has a horizontal stripe ... what does that mean? i wanna mate her.. will she get vertical stripes?

  • @x0NiightMare0x

    horizontal stripes: stress

    vertical stripes: ready to spawn

  • @RainbowShaker but its part of her colour.. its not a stripe that goes away

  • i have put my betta in the tank together but befor i did that i had them in seprate tanks right next to each other then i put the female in the male start chasing her and and flaring his gills he has a bubble nest setup and also there different betta the female is a crowntail and the male is a regular betta u buy at the pet store ..so what do i do to succesfully breed them

  • fail subtitles

  • how long should i wait till i can mate the same female...

they spawned but the eggs died so i wanna try again..

  • @x0NiightMare0x just wait like 2 weeks for the female to rest

  • @Thebassmster k thx so much

  • how old do u start feeding the fry?

  • Ha, I went to his website and they don't even sell Bettas! How dumb is that? Make a video about breeding a species and not even supply them. Geesh....

  • chris!!! you rock!! you helped me to keep my goldfishes and i believe i need to thank you becouse of that!! so chris!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!

  • if she has stripes does that mean shes ready to mate?

  • my male kept attacking the female!! he did mate her.. he would attack for a little while but then run away from her.. wats happening.. he doesn't like her? he made a bubble nest and i had them in the tank separated for 3 days.. but when i put her in..he ran away. i waited 3 hours but nothing happened... after awhile the female got slower and i got worried so i separated everyone..whats wrong? should i try a new female?.. i have another one.. but shes in her own tank.. and she has stripes

  • Ooo. San Francisco, I should check this store on my day off.

  • wtf.. i have to do all this stuff.. i was just going to shove the female and the male in the same tank O_o.. holy crap..

  • isnt ok to feed them frozen baby brine shrimp ?

  • Chris seems like a nice guy and has probably got some unfair critical comments - even though he managed to include a couple of good burps! Anyways, for benefit of all, I am based in Thailand, the home of Siamese Fighting Fish (known here as 'Pla Ghat' ). Here we're not as technical as this video suggests. My checklist: Fish tank or bowl, tap water, hiding place, 1 x male, 1 x female and 1 Barry White CD. Hey presto, loads of baby fishes. Good luck!

  • @elDarksider

Haha, it's true, these fish have been around before filters and procedures and all that stuff. But I'm sure it all got better with Barry White CDs lol.

  • @elDarksider I think this is for breeding hobbyists - not commercial breeders.

  • @elDarksider u suck

  • @elDarksider i bet your chirs loloololololol

  • expert village is a condradiction in terms!! get off youtube

  • What the heck!!! Is it really this hard? How the hell do they do it in the wild then?

  • what do you think he 'really' says at 0:24

  • lol all i noticed in this vid was that your Open sign says "pen" :D

  • @DavidFrom209 ahahahah i didnt notice it

    good eye man

  • This is way to much work foo just let them mate it happens all the time when they r in there natural habitat

  • This is a tutorial on how to breed betta fishes, (it worked real good)

to all those who are trying to spawn your betta fish but failed, this is a video to solve all your problems!!!

    /watch?v=Q-EBp4_CxCM

  • can i keep a female betta and a male betta in a 5 gallon tank? would they reproduce? how many baby betta can they have?

  • ......this video sucks!

step 1 get ALL your gravel out

step 2 tape black sheets of paper all over your tank except for 1 side

step 3 USE A SPONGE FILTER!

STEP 4 let the bettas peacfully mate

  • You can't seriously have enough tanks so keep 10 - 20 males seperate so how could you do it?

  • @ryswe Why you think they call them fighter fish and keep 'em seperate at the pet store lol

  • he is hooooooooooooooooot

  • how do you now if the female is redy to mate

  • This is crap, this is a bad video of how to breed betta fish, he can't even say betta right. I hope not all americans are as silly as this. You need to do alot more to prevent the bettas killing each other and encourage less aggression. Stick two in there and one will most likely kill or injure the other. Bloody idiot...

  • @XxKittyxXxCatxX Only males fight that I seen. I had many females with one male no issues!

  • hi i have 2 bettas one boy and one girl i never put them together to spawn but thier bowl are close together the female is a bit chubby a has a little white thing under her stomach does that mean shes pregnant

  • @bhahahahaha45 never together how is it pregnant lol

  • @TheWhitevoices i know

  • @bhahahahaha45 if they where never together how would it be pregnant

  • @MuffinBustin i know

  • hello there!...very good job on the video....i have a question....i hade a betta fish..and i love it to death!!!!....a metalic blue one.....but it only lived for 5-6 mouths....(sorry about my english)and i,m going to get one on monday eney wa

  • I have a 10 gal filter on a 5 gal tank and lots of plants for the female to hide in, I put a screed divider between my male and female for about 1 week. They are still divided but he is not making a bubble nest. they definitely see each other because if she swims toward the screen he will show off in a non-aggressive way. what am i doing wrong? I am wondering if there is to much current from the filter or if the water is to cold (its just room temp)

    can you help me?

  • @killkayla Hi there. First off, you should not have a filter going. If you do, it should be a sponge filter that only bubbles a few times a second. Dividers don't work too well in a breeding tank.

You need to research before you breed. Try this article (replace the (dot) with a . )

    aquarticles(dot)com/articles/breeding/kick_beta-breeding.html

And google 'betta breeding tank setup'. lot's of good info out there.

Good luck and have fun! :)

  • @killkayla hope it worked !!

    yeah I think you're dead-on. Too much current = no bubble nest 4 U

  • good video

  • how much does the filter usually cost?

  • Wow... It's pronounced Bet-ta, not Bay-ta!

The general overview is fine, but it is Far more complicated to breed them, and raising the fry (Babies) is essentially a full time job. Breeding bettas is fun and rewarding, but it is also frustrating and heartbreaking most of the time.

Please do your research before attempting to breed!

zink3434, here are some amazing websites on breeding bettas: bettysplendens(dot)com

    bettatalk(dot)com

    And good luck!

  • @CSStein No actually it's bay-ta just telling you that your wrong

  • My betta is sick and I have tried everything. T.C Tetracycline etc. and he si not getting better. he is about 3 years old . . . . . is he just old? He still has lots of energy but keeps getting finrot and I clean the tank every 2 days . . . .?

    Any help?

    sincerely

    very concerned

  • @LivetoPaddle I'm sorry to hear that.

  • did anyone else notice the "PEN" sigh in the back ground? hahaha

  • @anarose1935 its open ._.

  • @anarose1935 i think it open

  • i have a female betta and it making alot of bubble near the heater it this normal????

  • fix your "Open" sign first, the "O" is busted. lol.

  • do females always have the white spot or just when ready to breed?

  • As i write this my Blue Plakat is putting eggs under his nest from a CT red female, i may post some videos up when they get old enough. BTW for me it usually takes 1 day to condition the bettas. But you dont need to add all this BS to the tank lol. Regular water is good and if you can get rain water better.

  • @DRsegueta Do you have to have heater and filter?

  • @u842

Depends if you live in a cold place but here in New York is getting warmer so right now i dont need a heater for them but i do have one for the older baby fry which are around 2 months old. I got 2 different tank one with the 4days old and the other one with 6 2 months old. You dont need it if you live in a warm place.

  • @u842

BTW the filter is up to you, i rather not used them because bettas come from calm water without much movement but you if you decide to buy one buy a turkey baster (i think that's the name) and a sponge filter so you dont suck the fry into the filter and kill them.

  • i got a betta today :) any one have any tips.

  • @dexterORYGON- i know my betta is for sure a male and already begin making his bubble nest agin after i adjusted the temperture. but now i discover some white dots on his fins and body, should i be concern????????

  • hi i was just curious is it possible to have two male bettas in a 45gal or bigger tank or even a male and female without a seperator?

  • my male betta made a huge bubble nest, but I accidently destroy it while feeding the betta...it's been a while now and my betta doesn't appear to be making any bubble after the destruction of it's nest. what's wrong with it and how can I help????

  • thats alot of work

  • Betta fish are weird creatures. They have babies called fries.

  • if you guys like aquariums check out my profile, I got some cool videos on artificial jellyfish

  • do female bettas build bubble nest cuz mine just did ?????????? Is this normal??

please resond i am kinda worried

  • @LivetoPaddle yes

  • probably is a short fin male...

  • @LivetoPaddle then your betta is probably a male

  • @LivetoPaddle no they dont usually, maybe her personality is different from others and likes to help out. After they are done spawning and the male is carying the eggs to the bubble nest, if she is too shes one that likes to help, but if not you should seperate them after they are done.

  • I dont think so, Only the male ones build it. maybe you got them mixed up. Or maybe thats not a bubble nest

  • pleaes visit my site and take a look if my breeding is correct

  • @thingsthatkeepmeup

  • can i ask some question ?

    PLEASE ANYONE ANSWER ME ?

  • @soumeii00

you can feed them flaked food but you want to crush it up really really fine. and you should give them oxygen

  • HI I'M A BETTA BEGINNER AND I JUST BOUGHT SOME FROZEN PACKET BLOODWORMS.

ARE THESE FROZEN PACKET BLOODWORMS SAFE/SANITARY TO KEEP IN THE FREEZER WITH MY .O. W. N . FOOD????

cuz I heard they can have parasites/bacteria

  • Thanks mate i'm from aussie and all the tips i could find didn't go into a great amount of detail (i was just wondering how vital is it to cycle tanks before breeding i've had fish most of my life (first time going to breed) and i've never cycle a tank before lol don't worry i won't do anything till i have 100% all the info i can find

  • u are ulye

  • thankxxxxxxxz

  • bettacare101. com

  • hi man outo off good!

  • can i feed fry flakes if i crush them into a kind of dust

  • Yes, if u dont crush it into too fine a dust, otherwise the fry will inhale it and it may scratch the gills

  • @FishCollecter wrong noob fish owner!!!!

  • How long to me release the female with male (same aquarium)?

  • When the female is fat and full of eggs, you can put them together. Note that fish stores tend to sell females before they're even mature. Wait until the female is fatter than the male before attempting to mate them.
