I did something good by showing this movie to my best friend who never was interested in history. she was so amazed by the portrait of Queen Victoria that she read her biography. History is important. We should all read more.

This movie deserved the Oscar Award... it's brilliantly amazing. I am so thankful that we have people like Albert in this world. He changed my perspective on life and love. this was such a touching, well made film. i have never been into historical romances but something about Victoria and Albert touched me deeply. I even cried towards the end... I hardly ever cry with movies.. so this was definitely well made, emotional, and a stunning film. Definitely needs more recognition that what it has received.

I think one of the best part about this movie and this plotline is that it wasn't just some fantasy romance with a fantasy couple. The love story of Victoria and Albert is one of the most beautiful and tragic known.

I love the story of this regal couple. Its so innocent and yet passionate. The fact that two people could be so in tune in the others' thinking, whether together or not, is just astounding. Especially with the monumental responsibilities they had to carry together. I was sad to see it end so early. Romances just are not like this any more. I wish they were chivalrous as such. Bravo!

This is a beautiful film describing a true love story. One of the most romantic love stories of all time, in my opinion. Prince Albert was one of the few people who actually believed in Victoria's ability to rule and fell for her because of her strong will and personality. The film is so underrated! I fell in love with it the minute I watched it.

Apparently, I can't say enough about the film because I also forgot to praise the fantastic score! I thought it soared in all the right parts...and Emily Blunt was amaazing, though it was Rupert Friend who truly impressed me. I must say, I underestimated him in the past, but he's now one of my favorite actors and this is one of my favorite films. Definitely go run off and watch it, for anyone who hasn't seen it yet :).

I loved this film! Immediately after it ended, I wanted to see another movie about the rest of Victoria's life, only with the same cast. It's like we got a peek into her early reign, but I was so intrigued by the rest of it, that I wanted to know more! After all, the Victorian Era was so rich and illustrious! Some of the romantic parts took my breath away; I kept "aww-ing" all throughout. This film is definitely underrated, it deserved a lot more recognition than just for its costume designs.

this movie was amaaaazing and so heartwarming to see such a beautiful love blossom and endure during those times and also because shes a royal. Im always seeing only movies and shows where love breaks up or they dont take it seriously but this was so goooood! The music and some tiny things of the movie make it amazing! It was an amazing film and it followed every historical detail precisely except 2 times when she is wearing purple at the end after Albert has died and the crown she wears is the one our queen was crowned with, Victoria had a tiny head so had her famously small crown! I love the music too though they did a fantastic job one of my all time fave films!

Yeah, I noticed she was wearing purple at the end as well. And I was like, "wuuuuut?" So sad about Albert. I cried at the end when it said he died of typhoid at 42 years old and how she laid out his clothes for him. Poor Victoria. :(

I was also confused at first but then I realized that Victoria was with Prince Albert.

I don't think they would have made her look that young after 20 years since the movie was pretty spot on. :)

@06pilchere Regarding your comment on the purple dress she wore after Albert's death, it WAS her favorite color (even though she wore black for the rest of her life after his death). It also could have been a reference to her eldest daughter's wedding; according to what I have read, she wore purple the day of Princess Victoria's wedding in 1858 to Prince Frederick, the Crown Prince of Prussia.

the dvd comes out in limited release in the U.S. on Dec. 18th. I live in Costa Rica and I already saw it just by downloading it off of Limewire :D There are torrents for it too.
