This is the challenge of this protest and really of our entire system. Money is SUPPOSED to be a way to overcome the limitations of barter. What the banks are doing IS A PYRAMID SCAM. If I put $2,000 in my checking account, they can loan $20,000 to my neighbor to buy a car. The extra $18,000 never existed. They just write $20,000 on my neighbors account and he pays interest on it. The worst part is the person who sold the car puts $20,000 in the bank and now they can loan $200,000 nonexistent dollars and charge interest When there is only $2,000 real dollars.

This is the challenge of this protest and really of our entire system. As a result of the left vs. right, capitalism vs. socialism war, people only have some information - not enough facts to understand the big picture. They are fighting the wrong foe. If I put $2,000 in my checking account, they can loan $20,000 to my neighbor to buy a car. The extra $18,000 never existed. They just write $20,000 on my neighbors account and he pays interest on it. The worst part is the person who sold the car puts $20,000 in the bank and now they can loan $200,000 nonexistent dollars and charge interest When there is only $2,000 real dollars.

I don't think the banker got OWNED. He did get upset, which is too bad. Part of the problem is that there is no room for discussion in today's world. Both sides have valid points, but we will never even hear them if we just hang around and shout at each other.

Before the Sumerian's we did not know gold had value. We hadn't been introduced to slavery, murder, rank, rape, adultery, mining, ect....
The ancient cultures of India, South America, North America, Africa.... all teach similar stories. Civilization is older then text books record; knowledge was brought to us from elsewhere, and the first changing of the poles brought us the Noah's ark story. The knowledge they brought is far beyond what we have today, and so many vital pieces are ignored

Those religious principles suggest payment is the first step to greed. Once we recognize a service or product is worth more, that person looses place in society and takes on a new one of more "worth". Despite what the moral/ethical characteristics of that person really are (the things worth should consist of), they can rise to a high stature on society due to a good or service.....
We're supposed to be a community and willing to work for each other, not for a paycheck.

We "got screwed" because liberals in government thought it would be a smart idea to give mortgage loans to people who couldn't afford them, then when the shit hit the fan they blamed it all on the very banks they held a gun to to make these loans. These Occupiers should be protesting on Capitol Hill with signs calling for Barney Frank's job.

I know you're all frustrated with how things work, but if you do not know the details, please stick to the general issues at hand. Capitalism, in the current state, is a funnel that allows a very small percentage of people to control nearly all of the wealth that our labour creates. It buries technology, it creates shoddy products to keep the wheel turning, and it fuels hatred and competition. One love.
