  • I think this is brilliant! Loved hearing you play it!!

  • @mikeymike365

    Many thanks!

  • This is just great Wishuey my friend Glyn introduced you to me, he plays the banjo. You are definitely as good as he says you are. I love the chimes at the end, it's a perfect finish.

Muriel xxx Thanks for posting Wishuey.

  • @REDLEN308GTB

Thanks; haven`t watched this for quite awhile. I could probably have done better.

  • My Daddy passed away in1995.This was his favorite tune to play on the (banjer). He wasn't the best at playing but I would give a million to hear him one more time.

  • Another great rendition. Thanks for posting it!

  • Just in time. That would have been a perfect ending if you had been playing the song "Grandfather's Clock". I'm writing a song about a gun called "Grandfather's Glock."

  • Hmmm...."Grandfather`s Glock" could be interesting.

  • Beautiful. I wish you were in my living room to teach me how to play this -- I cannot seem to get the roll. Yours is the prettiest version I've heard yet. Thank you.

  • Many thanks. Don`t spend too much time on my all wrong backwards roll. It will confuse your fellow musicians....

  • Very nice. I enjoyed that. Reminds me of when I was a child. My Dad would play guitar, mom accordion and we 3 girls would sing on the back porch of our farm looking over the valley. Nice memory.

  • Thanks for the kind words.

  • Many thanks!

  • Very Nice.

  • this is beautiful great work

  • Many thanks!

  • I think the dog wants out

    Maybe its that Twanging sound

    or he just gotta pee!!

  • Yeah, I think she prefers the gut string version....

  • That's one of my favourite tunes/songs

  • Don Reno`s version was the first I heard many years ago. The "double time" stuff he did is wonderful. Have you checked out "Renopicker" on YouTube? He`s indistinguishable from Don.

  • Love your verson of this I think Reno could do more with this tune then anybody I ever heard.

  • Thanks. Good question. As far as I`ve been able to determine from the serial number it started out as a 1931 style 3 Gibson Mastertone archtop plectrum. Over the years it`s been changed to a flat-top five string. I`ve owned it since the early 70s and it had the five string neck for a good while prior to that.

That`s probably more than you needed to know....

  • Nice job man!!!

Just curious what banjo that is?

  • Great banjo playing.

  • Very nice. These are some great tunes you have been posting. Most of them I had forgot about. I'm going to have to dust off my strings and get busy!

  • Thanks. I`m dusting off the old gut-string and building up my nerve to try and sing "When You and I Were Young Maggie"; could be awhile as I haven`t found the right key yet....

  • Beautiful piece. I enjoyed the laid-back style of the player. A couple of minor glitches, but they don't detract from the mood of the song.
