I'm not going to argue to the point as to whether or not Lewis Carroll wrote this story under the influence of drugs, but people seem to be acting as though you can't have any abstract or creative thoughts unless you are under the influence. I find that to be very far from the truth. Although drugs have helped (and I use the term "help" loosely) to create some very abstract art or ideas, the same thoughts can occur to a sober mind.

Alice in Wonderland is a 2 book series about alternate universes the man who wrote the books Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) was a mathmetician and he liked the theory of alternate realities thats wat Alice is about NOT DRUGS

But actually, one of my college professors told me that the character "Alice" was based off his (very) young neighbor. And the story was symbolic of the things he wanted to do to her after "leading her down the rabbit hole." Then again my college professor was crazy, so I'm not even sure.

But Alice in Wonderland was way before the time of drugs. Lewis Carroll was just a strange man.

@TheGIRROX also the entire first book alices adventures in wonderland is satire. each part makes fun of a different part of algebra which at the time was new and to lewis carroll this new form of math made little sense. for instance when caterpillar says keep your temper hes really telling alice to stop changing and remain in proportion.
