  • No, the most important verse is:

Will you go when He comes back again?

  • I have heard this by Johnny Cash and the Carter Family. I have always gotten chills over this song.

  • Why did you cut off the last verse, its the most important part......

"Were you there when He rose up from the grave."

I can't believe you left that off.

  • @ElCarrier777 You are so right!

Without the Resurection, We have no Savior.

  • @robie0788 My dear Pastor always says that at the cross our sins were forgiven but with out the resurrection we are forgiven but still in the grave.

Why do people keep shortening everything, they lose so much doing it.

    God bless you.

  • I get chills when I listen to Tennessee Ernie sing Hymns.

  • You can always recognize Tennessee Ernie Ford's voice, when he sings!!! When he talks he can be funny with his accent. Sort of a Jim Nabor voice... lol... This is a good Spiritual Song!!! Love this song!!!

  • @KissMeQuk Jim Nabors has a very good voice. This guy had a GREAT Voice.

  • What is the name of the accompanying choir, Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians?

  • @jazz61021 No, that would be Ernie's regular backing group The Top Twenty. They were a regular part of The Ford Show for many years.

The choir that is seen in the accompanying pictures here is the Anderson Street Methodist Church in Bristol Tennessee that Ernie grew up in. He did record an album with them entitled "Hymns At Home" in 1960.
