This is from the colorized version of this 1944 classic. The original was filmed in black & white. One of my favorite movies. But why does Lauren Bacall call Bogie's character "Steve" but yet Walter Brennan calls him "Harry"? Inquiring minds want to know. The movie is MUCH better than the short Hemingway novel it's based on. Usually the opposite is true! THANKS for sharing this clip with us! :)
@JubalCalif, It was a nickname of Howard Hawks, the Director, and 'Slim' was the nickname of his wife. Bogie & Bacall named their son Stephen, after this character. Cheers.
is that a new effect technology or something or someone has the original roles of the film and somehow someway.........(?!) coulded master them again (?!) converted in colour ? (...)
anyways, I just cant understand right now how was this made...
interesting but, personal opinion: definetly black&white fits 100% and looks the best!
And my statement is ridicoulus? Funny. I'm a Orson Welles cultor and, according to your thought, i should thank Robert Wise to have cut his second movie. Yes, because we must enjoy all works e in every shape or color.
My comment wasn't meant to be offensive...No need to be on the defense. I'd had to start one of those stupid Youtube spats. All I meant was that if someone enjoys his work, they're a fan. "To each his own."
It was shown on our television station years ago on RTL4 and I taped it. When I have the time, I will put parts of it up, since I still have the tapes :)
EW DID THEY FUCKING COLORIZE THIS SHIT? BURN IT.

I'm sure that at least one of Turner's buildings looks drab. Hey lets pour some paint down the sides and "improve" it!

Never seen this colorized. It still looks cool, but black and white does better with this movie.

The Big Sleep, Dark Passage and Key Largo are film-noir movies and should be in black and white that´s the whole point!
