  • Spoken in true wisdom. I suffered in my early school life at the hands of bullies and every thing you have said is true, the times did pass and I'm now better then any of those people.

  • Also AA, did you submit this to the It Gets Better campaign?

  • @2edsajdmsa No I didn't

  • @AngryAussie If you were considering it at all, I think it would be a cool thing to do, its a wonderful campaign.

  • I'm constantly amazed at how beautiful the English countryside is.

  • a second choice to escape cyber bullies.Put the person on ignore on your account.

  • @mazykie That is a very good idea

  • We just did a video on Cyber bullying... It truly can't be said enough... so much more needs to be done in an effort to end cyber bullying, h8, and homophobia! Good video

  • @GayFamilyEthics Thank you

  • On the topic of cyber bullying, some guy was sent to prison about 9 days after you posted this for it. He posted obscene messages on Facebook sites set up in memory of dead people including one of a small boy who was killed by a dog.

Why would anyone think it's fun to do that?

  • @Whatupwidat Because they are complete losers

  • In case you are wondering Aussie... You do get better and better.

  • @lilwitchmel Thank you

  • wow this is an amazing video Aussie. I'm glad I found this. It's nice to see you mellow for a change too:)

  • @hugfrombug Variety is the spice of life :)

  • At my school, the Big Wigs allowed us to wear purple tees for Anti-homophobia opposed to the normal uniform polo shirt. Half the people who wore purple I know didn't care about those kids. People suck...

  • @CanaanSGl Yes they do

  • i just wanted to say thanks,

because hearing you say "this too shall pass" just really put my current situation in perspective for me. nothing to do with bullying, but it really helped.

  • @ProjectRedfoot It applies to any situation :)

  • @qqqCYBERLEADERppp Always worth remembering

  • yeah, but its realistic.

  • @bigben7sf It's bullshit. Acting as if "fucked up" is something that should simply be accepted does nothing more than make you fucked up.

  • every time i hear these storys about kids in highschools being bullied it scares me. thank god i was pulled out of school to be home schooled but before that just the kids in my ELEMENTARY school were incredibly mean to me and on alot of levels i have not goten over it to this day. i'm not sure why its stuck with me so long.

  • @WanabeLoser Childhood trauma can have a lasting effect

  • @hot13t Glad you enjoyed it

  • modern bullies are too pussy to do physical bullying anymore, it is really now pyschalogical and verbal abuse. Some fuckwit at my school attacked a possuem and according to him i "dogged" him to a teacher the kid didn't do shit, he just hurled verbal abuse and threw a tennis ball at me. The cunt did it right in front of a pregnant teacher, freaked out and ran. Seriouslyi have never ever been physically abuse by bullies, they seriously are gut-less peices of shit who end up no where anyhow

  • @Jaihadist There is a shitload of physical bullying goes on

  • @AngryAussie You want I should go into details for ya to illustrate the point?

  • @edeyn You sure don't have to for me

  • @AngryAussie, Good news there's a Anti-bullying that got passed and it's about damn time

  • Good advice as idiots make us of the computers and phones to get to you so if you dont go on facebook and other chat sites then it cant worrie you and as for phone calls and text messages keep them and use answering machine with landlines as if it get physical you have proof, Which will only strengthen your case then it goes to court and very difficult for them to deny.

Like the old saying give them enough rope and they will hang them selves.

  • @blueman4444444 Good point

  • I'm so glad I got this new account so I could hear Aussie's words of wisdom again:)

  • @OldCarsAreBest I'm glad you did too

  • I love you forever! Great video! I'm spreading it to all my friends as a reminder: It does get better!

  • @SynestheticSoul It's worth remembering

  • I ended up not going to school because of how I was made to feel. I even did year 11 and I never realised I did it lol!

As steve said, listen to the angry ;)

Hope your having a good time with steve?

Maybe you might like to watch my latest vid about this subject :)

    peace

  • @mkuebler5 Steve was great to travel with

  • I lived the exact same thing at high school. There's nothing you can do if you are smarter than the average, or simply different. You will get bullied and popular people will never be your friends. But in the college the same thing happened to me too. Even the popular football players from the team made friends with me and I started saying myself "wow, what a great place is this college, cause finally people caught up with my maturity" And I'm a guy who still watches cartoons...

  • @conmech It's something you just have to learn to deal with because eventually you'll get away from it

  • Wow Angry, that video was actually really amazing (im not saying that your other videos aren't) But i find that video was really.... something special. i think sharing your personal experiences with other people will really help some of the victims.

When you talk like this in your videos it makes me wonder if it has potential for a "Therapeutic Tuesday" segment. Quite proud of you, really. i don't know how much that means but i think you deserve to know that at least one of your viewer are =)

  • @pidgeon0stomper I do really appreciate your feedback - I think I'll make this sort of video occasional rather than regular

  • I have lots horror story from bullies. All my suicide attempts were genuine if clumsy. A big FU to the world. There is one thing I hated more than the torture, false sympathy, people who took my pain and made it about them. Taking your advice about staying off the net but not for the reasons you stated. Purple my ass.

  • @ZOMGitsDouchebag Not saying you are not being genuine andrew.

  • @ZOMGitsDouchebag You need something that helps you feel that you have power

  • as a bisexual pagan with a higher level of intelligence, I was treated terribly in school. My grandmother kept telling me it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. It's not right for people from another generation to give advice, or pass judgement on school life now. Because it IS much worse.

  • @ObsurdityReformed17 That's why the message is "it gets better"

  • @AngryAussie

I agree. Thank you for making this video to speak to and for others who don't think anyone cares, or that anyone will listen. Very well done and blessed be :)

  • @ObsurdityReformed17 BTW This is DraoiSidhe, I have 2 accounts.

  • I didnt grow up with any particular religous domination, I didnt even know the concept of a "God" until I was in 3rd grade. First time i asked a classmate what "God" was they never let me live it down. They would slam Bibles on my desk, recite verses everytime they walked by me, even told my teacher that I was "casting spells" on them and then I got sent to the principals office for it and I never did such a thing. I cant belive people treat eachother like that over minor differences.

  • @DraoiSidhe I was almost expelled in middleschool for bringing a wiccan book to class for free reading.

  • @ObsurdityReformed17 I am not wiccan per se but I follow a spiritual path that is close to Wicca, I remember bringing in a wiccan book one day just like you did and the girls that were harassing me decided they were going to throw it off my desk and rip pages from it.... the sad thing is that the teachers didnt do anything about it even when I told them about how the girls were treating me.

  • @DraoiSidhe That sort of thing is messed up

  • Holy crap! I discovered the same thing when I left college! I even noticed it in my last one or two years of college. As someone who was apparently 'retarded' I was suddenly called 'awesome' all the time. To this day I still have no idea how this happened...

  • @BimboZombieFilms It's quite a shock when you realise the other people were the problem

  • Anyone who opts to bully through an indirect interface rather than face-to-face is a weak, cowardly low-life, I think! That, or they really have no life at all and are incapable of occupying themselves with normal activities. Either way, you have an edge that puts you ahead of them.

Everything that you said here in this video is entirely true. Way to speak the truth, man.

  • @LyzaraKitsune I hope speaking out like this helps some people

  • I got bullied and picked on at school pretty badly, even by people I thought were my friends. And let me say it to anyone who is going through it too, what AA says about switching the computer off is 100% true. Just log off of facebook, msn and myspace and they really can't get to you.

And yes, it does get better, believe me. I make good money now and have a great fulfilling life, which is more than what I can say for those meat head, wood work lowlife motherfuckers that picked on me.

  • @2edsajdmsa Living well is the best revenge

  • I had a very similar experience as you did. I was harassed in both grade school and high school for no reason except I was kinda shy and liked to draw. I got through it and met a bunch of amazing people who had similar interests as me in college (I studied graphic design) and was finally happy at school. I had a little circle of friends who stuck to me in high school even if they were getting shit for being my friend. I don't know how I would have made it if it hadn't been for them.

  • @petitwallaby I'm glad you were able to get through it

  • :/ Bullying the ''AngryAussie'' isn't a good idea anymore :D

  • @Craig6623 Damn straight

  • our school had us wear purple the other day for awareness of gay bullying/suicide

  • @HHollyMMarie Good for them

  • even though i don't agree with you most of the time, i totally agree with you on this one. i read an article on yahoo about how a high school in the eastern part of america had four suicied due to bullying. one was bullied because she was disabled, another was bullied because he wore pink, a third was bullied because of her accent, and a fourth was bullied because she was a lesbian. they were all a few years apart from one another.

  • @tigertank06 and i also like the fact that you included people who committed suicide recently that weren't gay/lesbian. a lot of attention is focused onto people who are bullied because of their sexual orientation and not other reasons like having an accent or being different from the student body.

  • @tigertank06 It's a problem for a lot of people

  • i've just started college and it is alot better than school. Mainly because the people are more mature.

  • @TheXtraGuy I found that too

  • @bigmanoooo1 There are too many examples of schools trying gloss over things rather than deal with them

  • This is my troll account, but I have so much respect for you right now.

  • @Geekassassin Ummmmmm OK

  • @Geekassassin You have a troll account? Really? Trolls are the bullies of the net sitting there trolling through to find people to insult, degrade and belittle. If you have respect for anyone, then think before you comment to insult.

  • @speebyda very wise words.

  • Good video about a very important topic...and yes "it gets better"!!

  • @1sunbear Something worth remembering

  • Completely true.

  • @manyeyeshere Yes it is

  • I knew there is a reason why I think you have a sexy attitude and now I see your smart... sexy ... smart... Attitude.... Mmmmmmm yummy if I was into that type of thing

  • @sunsetlover hahahahaa Thanks for that

  • This is your best video, ever.

  • @tylerjamesstephens Thank you

  • Also, Angry Aussie your an inspirational man. I mean that,

  • Just finished school today (forever), I wasn't really bullied about much really in general. I just want to say that yes when you finish school, within 1 hour of getting home you will feel so free of any trouble that there was at school. School and the bullshit it contains becomes very insignificant very quickly.

    Good Luck to everyone

  • @Rossco9992 Good luck with the exams I presume are coming!

  • Haven't been keeping up with ur videos, but I can see that you've got a new hairdo.

    Rocker colours? haha

  • @bakamund The sunlight brings out the colour

  • hmm i think this is the longest i have ever gone without hearing you screaming and yelling and not giving a fuck.....i'm starting to miss it. =(...but i like these videos to so it's all good. =)

  • @eagleeye5199 Variety is the spice of life

  • @sylvan0707 It's bizarre how things that seem so important at the time are utterly trivial a few years later.

  • This is easily one of your better videos.

  • @jvry8c Thank you

  • are u sersely u been bullied omg dam

  • @HQHDanime2 This is not about me

  • If you don't work to better your situation, nothing changes. To obsess over the past is pointless, to moon over the future is foolish and to pray another will hand you a new life is pathetic. You will only get past bullying if you have the strength to do so, there are bullies all through life, if you simply wait for it to end, you'll wake to find you've grown old and frail. Make your own fate, or accept the one given to you. Your choice.

  • @XLycorisX The central point I was making was that the difficulties of the moment often seem insurmountable so it's worth reminding young people that things get better. I don't think you're going to win friends with sanctimonious preaching.

  • Hearing this helped me out in what seems to be really rough times. thanks angry aussie, i owe ya!

  • @kronoff317 Glad yo hear it - the tough times will always pass

  • If only other people would stand up for those being bullied, thankfully theirs not much of that shit in my school >.>

  • @ilikelemonpie1 It does require everyone to stand up

  • @p717 Not always true. My counselor was among the only reasons I didn't kill myself. Her support is the reason I had the strength to get through the pain, the bullying, all the crap people put me through, and are still putting me through.

My history teacher let me hand in papers late at no cost to my grades because I was emotionally unstable. Nobody falls under a stereotype, just because they hold a title. Thinking otherwise is just plain close-minded and stupid.

  • @p717 The schools frequently fail badly

  • @morehate4uall Bastard beetroot thieves!

  • @Motosuna1982 Sometimes that's a very hard step to take

  • @FanshiiKingyo And it's worth remembering that you'll get to that better time.

  • "It does get better" Something I've been telling people for years; and I know it is cold comfort for someone who is being bullied but there is no better way of putting it.

You did a great job in capturing you thoughts there and expressing them; and I don't know what it is about the scenery in the background but it really gives a Zen quality to the whole thing. Some people can rabbit on about similar topics and make it seem like a lecture, but that was great.

  • @ProgrammedForDamage I like using nice settings for difficult topics

  • Also all these so called religious nuts that can't seem to grasp the idea that you must treat everyone respectfully regardless of sexual preference. Shit back during slavery the dumb ass christians were split over bible passages one side saying Slavery was OK and quoting bible verse's and the other side who were so disgusted by slavery and also quoting bible verses to prove they were right. Fucking division, divide and conquer!! NIMRODS!!!!! start treating people respectfully!

  • @bigben7sf The Bible was written by people, not by God. I wish all the stupid Christian zealots at my school could get that through their thick skulls for once. The concepts of "good" or "evil" are purely man-made conventions that have no true meaning within this world outside of our own heads.

  • @Kallen2121

I understand that just making a point on how people can be such sheep. The world doesnt change if everyone is following

  • BLAME THE PARENTS!!

  • A few days ago, I scared away a potential friend just b/c I mentioned that my daughter's dad was murdered-but I wasn't focusing on the terrible thing that happened to him. I was trying to say that she looks like her dad and that I think that's a GOOD thing.

She decided I wasn't worth talking to, ever again. Even after I apologized, sort or, for scaring her away.

And somebody sent me a comment saying I deserved to go to hell. Like he knows where I deserve to go.

    Dumbass.

  • @vickiormindyb Like my advice always is - block and delete

  • Hahahahahaah Come on !!! Bully's will always be around regardless. U wanna know why? because the dumb ass parents don't prioritize whats important. The children should be most important but unfortunately they are too busy playing with their i-phones, ipods, text messages, facebook, etc... and all around too self centered and lost to give a shit.

  • @bigben7sf What a wonderful outlook

  • Comment removed

  • I wish someone had said this to me while I was in school. Thanks Andrew

  • @MrBarry91 I wish the same!

  • Problems in this world are not going to fix themselves. Why should someone have to live through years of pain if it is not necessary for them to suffer? I don't think telling people that you just have to wait for things to get better is a good message, people should be encouraged to make a difference now.

  • @AgujaAzulMD There will always be bullies, there will always be victims. Deal with it

  • @KingTekins There is a difference between dealing with it and ignoring it. Even though I do think sometimes people need to be a little less sensitive to what other people say and do, if someone is having their life turned into a living hell by others, sitting back and saying "you know what, I shouldn't do anything about this because it'll just get better" is not the right thing to do. That's like saying there will always be cancer, so if you get it, you should just sit back and "deal with it".

  • @AgujaAzulMD Like what? I have no idea what that comment is even supposed to mean. Do you live in the real world?

  • @AngryAussie People shouldn't let others push them around is all I'm saying. So many people lack any self-confidence, and they aren't going to gain any if they're told to sit back and let people hurt them. Instead of saying "it'll just get better", they should be saying "get comfortable with who you are and stand up for yourself."

  • well said Angry

  • @grimtok Cheers

  • Wonderful video Mr AngryAussie, a beautiful village lane and you philosophising,on such an important subject perfect! I hope we will get a whole tranche of videos of your holiday, with all of your likes and dislikes about England and Scotland, combined with some general musing about life would be excellent.

  • @conrad152 I actually didn't do much musing - it's mostly scenery shots

  • That was a good video you put up! I only wish it would be put in more places than this single webpage.

  • That was a good video you put up! I only wish it would be put in more places than this single webpage.

  • @zNelson24 Well, the message is being spread fairly widely

  • Homophobia really is a weird phobia unlike any other phobia its parred with hate

  • @holyboddy Well, it is really a phobia, that's essentially a very inaccurate name

  • That vid was as lovely as the village. Great insight there. Am proudly wearing purple atm. Oh, and kudos for the Flaming Lips reference, Yoshimi is such a nice album.

Peace and love fellow human :)

  • @killalmostwise I'm a huge fan

  • If your getting bullied real bad, just do what I did and break the urinal with the bullies head, they never fucked with me after that.

  • @TSEpictures Not always an option

  • one thing i like to add.. in MMORPGs if youre geting bullyed just do what they hate the most.. ignore list ftw

  • @brass76 Good strategy!

  • Nicely said.

Also, it's easier to respond to the cyber bullying just by using all the block options at our disposal. People sometimes forget that it requires far more effort from them to harass than it is for us to 'virtually' kick them to the curb.

  • @OhCurt Yep, I enjoy how easy it is to get them out of my life

  • ....did you color your hair?

Anyway, thank you for making this video. In JHS, I was ruthlessly bullied, once I got to HS, I adopted a "Ima just be me and not give a fuck" attitude, that got me through, but I still had issues. Thank God I made it through and College is fucking amazing, if someone is saying something abt me, they look like the idiot cause its college! Grow up! lol.

  • @MxTori Yep, it's usually better when people grow up

  • ....did you color your hair?

  • @MxTori A month or so ago

  • I attended a boarding school where it was impossible to escape the bullies, both pupils and teachers. One day a fat and stupid bully chased me around and jumped onto the corrugated iron roof of the bike shed with the intention of jumping on me, he then ran onto the asbestos roof of the dustbin shed and fell through into the rubbish! Beauty!

Yeah, 20 odd years on, the memories of being bullied is getting dimmer and I have had no contact with the bullies since.

  • @TheWelly888 That's some karma at work there

  • Personally I think the whole 'Cyber-Bullying' thing is way overblown. As you said, the extremely simple solution is to switch off the computer for a while. It's not like Facebook and Myspace is an essential need for people to live. Sure I'll be sympathetic when it actually causes a death or something, but generally I have very little tolerance for people who keep feeding the trolls and bringing on all their problems by themselves. Ever heard of Chris-Chan?

  • @Protectorett It's bullying generally that is the problem

  • @AngryAussie Real life bullying is the real issue, yes. I've personally never thought that it was a really major thing, but maybe that's just because my bullies whenever I had them were easy enough to deal with. I imagine most others have it a lot harder.

  • As much as I like your angry rants AA... This is a good point to discuss. And I agree with some of the other comments. This is a important topic that has to be discussed. Nothing is gonna get done about it if people are in the dark about it.

  • @BLACKHAWKDRAGOON Variety is the spice of life

  • another good and timely video! Great advice too! I was wondering, how you are able to film yourself while strolling. Is there a certain device you use?

  • @NeonBKP he uses a monopod, he's explained this in past videos.. in essence it's a camera on a stick, lol

  • @NeonBKP I did a video with Andrew aka AngryAussie showing how he films with the monopod, if you want to see how it's used.

  • @NeonBKP Like the folks below said :)

  • This shit (homophobia) is rampant in my college. My sister that was visiting saw a guy just walking across the campus with a shirt that said "God hates fags". And then several people have told me that it is okay to hate gays, since the gays are going to Hell anyways. I guess that's the nature of the beast when going to a "good Christian school".

  • @TheOutdoorWarrior That is a very unfortunate situation

  • Inspirational words from Mr. Angry. I never really caught shit in highschool, because that was a fresh start for me, but when I was in about 5th to 7th, I was bullied. Then one day, I broke out of my shyness shell, and by showing people who I was, and letting the twats who picked on me know that shit wasn't happening anymore, I became on of the accepted people.

But still, I wish I saw this video back then, during the harder times.

  • @IrrIsponsible Yeah, the whole aim is to reach people going through it now

  • Maybe they could make a law where as when cyber bullies are traced and found out.. they get banned from using computers for 5/6 years regardless of what age they are. It's a subject which isn't taken seriously enough by the authorities who could never have experienced it and barely know how to use email alone.

  • @MikeHuntagape There are about a million things that could go wrong with an approach like that

  • Rarely have I gotten bullied at school, to be honest. I'm not even done with Jr. High and the only time I've gotten bullied was in third grade. I'm not bringing this up to make people that are getting bullied feel bad, but to say that not all people in school are total dicks and bitches. Of course the occasional comment that I'm going out with a boy that I talk to and hang out with may come up, but it's nothing worse than that.

  • @FloraFaerie Of course not everyone is bad

  • always love your clips Angry!!...always something good to say about the right subject!

  • @EndlessGrind78 Glad you enjoy what I do

  • a really good message thanks andrew

  • @mistelroth Cheers

  • it's always darkest before the dawn
