  • That's a nice cuda but by no means a monster. I see them every dive I do much larger than that. I do not see them I'm free diving off the beach very often. Lately I have been seeing schools of giant tarpon 50-100lbs+ right off the beach (massive schools) close to where you are fishing.

  • How big do they usually get? And what kind and size of hook was used!

  • @AmazingZombieWeapons

They can get over 50lbs. We use 7/0 j hooks. I used the Owners, but not I am looking for a new J hook. The Owners rust to quickly.

  • what kind of bait did you use?

  • @jkleech1

    I believe it was bonito.

  • I know where this is hehe, i was paddleboarding there today

  • why do you always stop filming right after you catch it??

  • @namm3rboi

I don't anymore, all my new videos show the release. I used to be scared to get my camera wet or damaged, so I would turn it off and put it away.

  • is this in boca raton?

  • Nope.

  • @BlacktipH where?? nice catch

  • @googsyboy123

    Somewhere in SE Florida.

  • Nice size Cuda, but by no means a monster. I've seen a lot of cuda over 6 feet in length over the years in SFL. What beach was this on? All of the beaches in south east Florida that I know of do not allow fishing from shore.

  • @Laz1287

This may not be a 6ft cuda, but all beaches in Florida allow fishing. According to Chapter 379.104 of the Florida Statutes states: "The Legislature recognizes that hunting, fishing, and the taking of game are a valued part of the cultural heritage of Florida and should be forever preserved for Floridians" and also "the Legislature intends that the citizens of Florida have a right to hunt, fish, and take game"

  • @Laz1287

Also in Chapter 379.2412 is states: "The power to regulate the taking or possession of saltwater fish, as defined in s. 379.101, is expressly reserved to the state". The high tide mark is state property and no local government has the authority to ban fishing. Surf fishing is permitted on any beach in South Florida.

  • where do u fish at ?

  • @poophead688

    SE Florida

  • @BlacktipH is it just me or is the water there very blue?

  • @IIxxxACExxxII

It is very blue water. The gulf stream is only a few miles out.

  • @BlacktipH thats sweet. i veiw you videos and it makes me want to surf fish from that spot. looks like you catch loads! you catch something everytime you go out?

  • @IIxxxACExxxII

Not all the time, some days the fish don't bite.

  • can you catch cuda on the beaches of sc

  • @sharkfishing37

I don't know, I have never fished there.

  • OOOOOooooooo Barracuda

  • Is this a rare thing to catch these fish there or is it quite a common thing.

  • @creamtt

It's very common, barracudas hunt along structure (beaches, piers, reefs, etc...)

  • @BlacktipH TY For the prompt reply, just like to say i am very envious of the fish that are available to you.

    Tight lines.

  • @creamtt very few people can say tthat hey caught tarpon in the surf

  • @curtgowdysharkhunter I wish i could say i had caught one from the shore, where i live the commercial fishermen have taken everything and destroyed our fishing.

  • @creamtt were do u live

  • i notice you use a penn senator 4/0 wide a good bit and im getting a shimano tld 25 in a couple of days can it do all the stuff it does it has the same capacity plus its a lever drag so that means higher drag

  • @sharkfishing37

The senators are very basic, I personally don't like them, but they work. Avet's are the way to go!

  • @BlacktipH ya i almost got a 4/0 wide but then i saw a used tld 25 for 70 dollars the guy hasnt sold it and hes aggervated so it was 150 only used 2 times but lowered down to 70 but you see in the video that it works he just doesnt fish any more and considering the price of some avets i would have to mow a lot of lawns that would take to much time i had an old okuma conv reel but it broke cuz okuma sucks so im going to work my way up to a big reel like an avetexw 50/2 or a shimano tiagra 50wide

  • @sharkfishing37 get a penn international 50 wide 2 speed they go for 500 bucks i have the okuma titus t50 and that thing is an animal u can only get them used because they dont make them any more

  • @curtgowdysharkhunter did you read the other comments? i cant afford that and if i'm getting a "big" reel i would get a shimano tiagra and even if they still made the okuma titus i would definitely get a shimano tiagra i've had to many problems with okuma over the years with there parts breaking

  • are cuda any good to eat?

  • @benkerr69

Yes they are, but barracudas are considered unsafe to eat. Barracudas are known to carry ciguatera poisoning, which has no treatment and no way proven way to test for contamination. People who get ciguatera poisoning never forget how horrible it is.

  • what were you usin as bait.

  • @bradandthedawgs11

    Bonito

  • @BlacktipH how far is ur cast!?

  • @pinkkirby518465

    We kayaked the bait 100yds

  • dude, your living the best life! i wish i was

  • what penn senator reel is that? and how much line does it hold?

  • @splatter10

4/0 wide, and it holds 600yds of 30lb mono

  • @BlacktipH thank you good sir

  • what beach is that? and what pound test do u use normally

  • @fishingallyear100

The beach is in Southeast Florida and we use 65lb PowerPro.

  • This cudda is not a monster, it is a decent size, what a real cuda should look like, however I have snagged 6 1/2 feet Cudas, almost 7 feet that would dwarf this one. Fat too

  • What is the name of this rod? And how much?

  • @TibagDon

That is a 8ft Shakesphere Ugly Stick Big Water 40-80 stand-up rod and I believe it costs $60.00.

  • BAIT!

  • @smoothcriminal997

Tubeworms are the best lures for cudas. Use either Needlefish or Blue Runner for bait. They are usually within 50yds from shore.

  • I still need a yak, and to make atrip to the beach. I've never caught a trip without the surf... nice water! Nice fish!

  • @smoothcriminal997

Yes they are common in the surf. They are more common to catch in the summer months than the winter months.

  • what was that 30lb line?

  • @BugMoneyFishing

    80lb PowerPro

  • @BlacktipH with a penn reel?

  • @BugMoneyFishing

    Penn 4/0 wide

  • where is that at

  • @ijoj1

    West Palm Beach

  • @smoothcriminal997

    Yes sir.

  • DID YOU RELEASE IT?

  • @starwarsboy9

Nope, we kept it for shark bait.

  • @BlacktipH i forgot do you release the sharks?

  • @starwarsboy9

    Yes, tag and release.

  • @BlacktipH okay good

  • that thing was 42" long
