hes basically saying that after all these years he has finally found out what ararat really is, not just a mountain, but a symbol for our people. He is saying neither he nor us (armenians) will forget ararat and it is in our hearts.

I believe Arto lives in Los Angeles now. You can search the Los Angeles Times website for an article they wrote about him last summer, when he brought over the Navy Band for a big concert at the prestigious Disney concert hall there.

his last name is armenian too not turkish. the root of his last name is turkish but it's still an armenian last name because of the yan. armenians got their last names from first names such as hagopian (son of hagop) or trades such as son of blacksmith or son of carpenter. some of the root words were turkish such as bilezikjian, ziljian, and my great grandpa's, dinjian, which means son of religion or something along th elines. jsut cause the root word might be turkish doesnt mean its not armeian
