What happened to creativity in games? I mean, seriously; What made this game so epic was all the locations and areas you could see ... you were actually EXCITED to see what the game would throw at you next. Now games are more like "Oh, this level is a forest ... and here's a cave ...". The only creative company out now is Nintendo (And even then that's kinda debatable); Why can't we have more creative developers?

@200zero I'm aware of that. I played both the PS2 and Wii titles. I like keeping it on something with a stylus or "brush", because the actions feel natural, compared to a joystick. By "brush" I mean something like the WiiMote, because it is quite like grabbing a brush and just painting.

Also, I included "from now on" meaning, from this date onwards. Not back when it just came out for the PS2 or had a chance to be glanced at with the GC.

I swear this is the best game ever. What I heard was that it scores just under the Zelda games but I think it should be rated the same. It's not childish at all and really well thought of. When you get past a certain point in the game it gets really exiting because of all the different brush techniques you get. Like that it becomes more interesting and fun to play :P

I actually loved the graphics on the underwater palace. I kinda wish they made it longer. I just loved the bubble and watery effects of it.

For example, the first one, Tsutamaki Ruins, is a joke. It can be completed within two-three minutes, especially with Issun holding your hand -_-...

And that is what holds me back from calling this game perfect.

Don't get me wrong, Okami is still one of the best games I played.

It just doesn't hit the "perfect" bar for me.

Which would you rather have? Longer dungeons? Or an epic storyline? Besides, there were other stuff that could be done... like upgrading your techniques, hunting demons in demon scrolls, even upgrading some of the brush techniques. Maybe find all those special beads along the way. They can only do so much in a game and within a time limit that they were in. Gotta keep the business booming somehow.

I agree, and I wouldn't mind the short dungeons early in the game if it didn't give you a nudge to do this or that (e.g. when you reach the top of the waterfall in Tsutamaki Ruins, the game gives a camera view of the pots polluting the water, as if saying "Hey! See these? You can knock 'em over!". I mean, is that really necessary? Why wouldn't you knock them over?).

Another thing that bothers me is that the game blatantly tells you where to go (e.g. when you escape the Sunken Ship and you wash up on shore, the Lucky Mallet pops out and you have to follow it to the crack in the wall in the Emporer's Palace). I'd rather work that stuff out for myself.

Still, Okami is one of greatest games out there and definitely holds a number 2 spot in my book.

They said there will be a sequel if enough copies are sold and that it was exceeding expectations. IIRC, they also mentioned that they wanted to go to more Clover franchises again.

A sequel can come if you make more people buy the Wii version particularly.

You glance at GTA and tell that it is about driving and killing... insta buy. You glance at FPSs and notice the big ass guns and insta buy.

Oblivion? Boring! Why?cause I have a goal and can't go randomly killing unless I want to waste time. It takes one hour to get anywhere in that game. My cousin wanted in when I showed him my 100 sneak/thieving tho.

Oblivion has insta-travel, even to places you haven't been.

Only applies to most landmarks including important places and towns.

I myself put about 20-30 hours on it, then I just drifted away from it... I should pick it up again. I did just get it a month ago.

Oblivion does have insta-travel but it takes place in "real time" in a sense but only to locations you found besides major cities.

I placed around 200 hours. It is simply a game you can't get anywhere in a under an hour as I said. It isn't a reckless kill spree unless you want to make quests nearly impossible. You gotta think, plan, practice, study, search, save and all.

A bit too much for the JRPG crowd at times... far too much for those who don't like RPGs to look more than 10 minutes.
