  • Awesome! Roland brings it live. The man can SING! I'm so overdue for a show.

  • Abso- bloody-lutely AWESOME!!!

    Long Live Tears For Fears!!

  • I've heard "better" singers but only very, very few have the ability to be as consistently excellent as Roland - amazing. Curt is very good but not in the same league as Roland - together they are wonderful.

  • Amazing live version of this song!! Tears For Fears rocks!!! Roland hits every note just right. It's too bad I never saw them in concert. They seem to put on a great show if this is any indication! A thumbs up and faved! Peace2U, Alex

  • I enjoyed that.

  • TY for the upload......completely underated band....imo...way before their time.

  • god I love this song and how it makes me feel..... I feel I can conquer the world!

  • fantastic !

  • Parts of this have always reminded me of a military march or something... and then when I see Orzabal salute it makes me wonder... : )

  • @Ztinkyy The Beatles used the melody and also Oasis

  • Parts of this remind me of a military march or something...

  • I saw them in Fort Lauderdale, FL last week. They sounded like they were in the studio. It's great to see Roland and Curt performing again. I didn't really know how great they were until I saw em live. Quite an awesome live band.

  • @asz420 yep - saw this past 2 summers .. they sound GREAT live! it is quite shocking, actually, namaste

  • @maccafixx thanks for sharing. i love clips from the Minneapolis Concert!!!! is there a DVD?

  • i love clips from the Minneapolis Concert!!!! is there a DVD?

  • hey! where is curt here?

  • @tonix2005 They split in the early 90's then Roland went off as Tears for Fears alone

  • In the future, some children of our children will listen this song and they realized that their grandparents were so lucky to listen this real artist. All the best for Roland.

  • Why did I keep thinking this was a hit by ABC? Good thing I remembered the title of the song. :)

  • Oh those leather pants, and whats in them!!

  • He is AWESOME!!!!!

  • Good Song :D

  • Roland's voice is outstanding. I think his microphonist could make a bass adjustment. A little more could be suitable for this song.

WOW this is a so nice live version.

  • I'm obsessed with tears for fears and is completely in love with Roland's powerful voice and musical creativity. But his work after sowing the seeds of love don't get me at all. It sounds too... pop rock or I don't know how you would call that particular genre. It reminds me too much of bands I don't really like such as nickelback. Although I don't listen to his new stuff, I still respect him very much for daring to change and not always sticking to the same formula. Does anyone feel the same?

  • I always love ROLAND!

  • I really must second the ROLAND< ROLAND< ROLAND.... OH ROLAND!

  • awesome song !!!

    awful sound & video : (

  • Roland Roland Roland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesomeness

  • Man, he is a terrific lead vocalist. Damn.

  • Roland is so HOT!

    Fantastic song!

  • WONDERFUL!!! See my account to see a new song for Laura Pausini!!!! Click on my name.

  • T4F puts me in an f'n time machine and transports me back to much much better times. Eighties and early 90's for me was the best. I had everything then I mean everything and today in reflection it's almost all gone, just some faded memories that seem like a million miles away. Thanks for taking me back once again ......

  • @hiredgun7777 life is short ... make some new memories! namaste

  • very cool!!!

  • @gimee50k- It is not at all embarrassing. You should be proud of yourself. Liking a particular music hasn't got much to do with age. The music made with heart and soul will reach out to anyone. That's how I see it.

  • @gimee50k got for it u have great taste! and they still sound amazing live

  • cool

  • Who is the lead guitarist ? Anyone know???

  • sexiness

  • Roland's voice is sooo beautiful! and damn that man is HOT!!!!!

  • I know what you're thinking, "a zoo?" Our zoo has a gorgeous ampetheater in the center. I wish more great artists realized this and would come to Portland, OR.

  • I've been wanting to see them for 10 yrs. I finally got to see them July 11th at the Portland Zoo and it was absolutely amazing.

  • Gonna see them on Friday...can't wait!!!

  • awesome...i love them...still great vocals

  • I actually can't believe how incredible and consistent a vocalist Roland is. He probably kills it in studio if he can pull of vocals this good in a live setting. Amazing song writer. Curt too, of course. I'm glad to see them writing/playing music together again. Hopefully they come to Canada!

  • Roland imho is the best live singer around. He is just as good-even better than in the 80's. He hits every note, not like Bonjovi who harmonizes almost everything anymore.

  • @shmtnmusic i totally agree♥

  • @shmtnmusic bon jovi sucks live.... gay singer

  • @atmoi666 i've seen them the last 2 summers ... had set my expectations low as some of the youtubes didn't sound so great live ... but they killed it! fantastic!

  • what does that mean :Break It Down Again ?

    thanks

  • If your life is mixed up, if there are problems...it means to take those troubles apart bit by bit. Look at the pieces in front of you and you will maybe see that the problem isn't so big after all. So: "Break it down" = think about what is really important in life instead of worrying about things you have no control over.

  • thanks a lot for your answer :-)

  • what does that mean :Break It Down Again ?

    thanks in advance

  • Superb. where was I..?

  • super powerful song!

  • this is quite amusing....

is that Curt on the bass? if it is then this is truly amusing since this song was written without his involvement. after 1989 there was a 15 year split between him and Roland.

  • You mean on the left? No! That's not Curt. Curt is much better looking than that.

  • the lead singer said "break it dow"

  • Ao som desta fantástica banda de imortais do rock vivi uma adolescência marcante. São inesquecíveis.

  • Já somos 2 !!

  • In my opinion, the lyrics themes of this band are very singular. My 80's and 90's would not be the same without Tears for Fears. Thank you!

  • "Stand tall like a man...

WHEN YOU'RE HUNG LIKE A HORSE!"

    Hee hee hee...

  • It's "headstrong like a horse."

  • Oh thats hilarious!!!! who knows?????

  • @squeakyben jgh548,,, that comment was in response to your rendition of "headstrong like a horse"

  • Great video! Fabulous singing, as usual. Love it! Is this video available commercially?

  • I saw this band playing this song in concert when they went to Colombia in 1997, it was the best!

  • best First Ave, performance since Prince did "Baby I'm A Star" ;)

  • this is so good and i'm so glad theres not one bad comment about this! there shouldn't be!

  • Wow, amazing the energy of Roland and the crowd. Wish I had been there.

  • First Avenue is a sweet little venue in Minneapolis, lot of history. Wish I could have seen this show!

  • God, I love this band. Elemental is the first album I ever purchased. I was 10. =) Brings back good memories... Roland is my hero.

  • I would be suprised if theres one bad thing to say. This group was one of the best in the 80's..Theres a few i love and tears for fears is one.Awesome is all i can say.Good to see there still singing.

  • fast off to phuket just like big Sastebe on a motorbike

  • They sound great live like most bands of the 80's... except milli vanilli and many of the bands or singers today. Thanks for sharing the vid.

  • I envy all of u guys. I even have born yet when they took this video. Found their old tapes from my bro's drawer couple of years ago and I love their music just like that. Wished they do a show for 1 last time for me to watch :(

  • Cool, I was there too! I didn't realize it was taped. I was back by the lights guy and there really wasn't a bad spot. This was an awesome concert. I did see the reunion of Roland and Curt at the State Theatre in Mpls., but this one will always hold a special place in my heart. TFF fan forever!!!

  • Wow! I was in the front row at this show. I've been looking for video of it since that night in 1996. Thanks! Looking at it now, it's as great as I remember it. What a performance.

  • Thanks for inadvertently answering my question. I was going to ask what year this concert was, just to see it answered. Thank you!

  • No problem, glad I could help. I still have my backstage pass from that show. Drove home 7 hours in a blizzard that night. But, it was all worth it.

  • De los mejores grupos de los 80, y 90, por supuesto. Muy bueno en directo.

  • the same as their recording. this guy is the shit when it comes to a guy that really has a voice. you wont find that in the late 90s or the 2000's. if these guys go on tour i'm all over it. dearly worth the second concert i would have ever paid for

  • their is a few performances from the first avenue ratkos gig, does anyone know whether anyone has this whole gig recorded

  • Great performance and an equally great audience! I have never seen a crowd reaction like that at the TFF concerts that I have seen so far on video or TV!

  • excellent!

  • super bueno
