God loves us all and gives us a home in Heaven. He gave his son's life to give us the way to live eternally with him. Jesus died for us and God wants us to love them both. Except Jesus into your hearts and live for God and be with them in Heaven.
A great version by one of the greatest country singers of all time, but this song was written from the perspective of a casual believer trying to reconcile tragedy with the love of God. Connie's strong faith comes through in her vocal presentation, while Tammy Wynette's version conveyed the shock, uncertainty and struggle of someone who has not always walked closely with God seeking his comfort at a time of tragedy.
@Cris43130 Got to say this,I am a great fan of Tammy Wynette, consider her the best female country singer ever. But,I have to give the edge here to Connie Smith.Wow,what a recording, chilling, spell binding
Parts of this song are contrary to the bible, such as "God is no respecter of persons", etc.If He would take one child to heaven because He saw his future, and saw that the child would turn his back on Him in the future, then He would have to do it for all children.I remember once during an interview, Connie said if she had to do over, that there were some songs she would not record, even religious songs, and I always believed that this was one of them. She has matured spiritually since that song
I can't help but put another post on here about his extraordinary version of this beautiful song!! It is truly haunting and the more I listen to it I cry and truly feel the presence of God. This is truly an anointed piece of work and thank you again so much for posting this on here.
One of the greatest gospel numbers ever written. Originally written for and recorded by Tammy Wynette, although I do prefer Connie's version, but that's subjective.
The lyrics in the Italian version are far superior!

Great version of a "goosebump" song. Produced by George Richey (Mr. Tammy Wynette) ironically, before he and Wynette married.

I love Tammy Wynette but Connie Smith eclipses every country female singer! The woman is the cream of the crop singer!!!
