Emotions love, compassion, grief, sadnes, anger it has it.. and THIS is a great version smack dope any sort of drugs didnt make zep any worse or better than they were.. ( can zeppelin be any better? )
I cry inside when I hear this! There is no other song like this that touch me this much (Tears in heaven, Little Green) Robert is just.... such a singer and composer! It is so true, this simple melody says everything. So does his lyrics and voice. Can't stop listening to it
@TANNERGRN I knew that....back in the mid 90's back when VH1 was a relevant music station and aired the "VH1 Legends" mini series and profiled Zeppelin and mentioned about Plant losing his child.
This is band is still alive for me, not only memory but in the fact I keep getting new experiences from all this rare shit that gets posted on the net.
Great sound too. I if they have enough sound and film for another reconstructed live DVD.
@20carrocks Pagey was shwacked out of his mind on heroin. But keep in mind that he never duplicated his solos live. Sometimes he landed on his feet, sometimes he fell on his face. But he was never boring.

I will never underunderstand why most of the 1980 and 1977 where never made into a officel LP, I remember buying a bootleg of Zeppelin Berlin 1980 and was so sad on how awful the sound recording was....I felt so pissed, because if you lissen to them play they where tight.
i was at this show, frankfurt festhalle, we stood center stage against the guardrail (there were two rails) they played for four and half hours! and there were only about ten or twelve thousand people there. i still have the stub and the review from the stars and stripes newspaper. certainly made up for the tampa fiasco!
@lucho663 AT THIS SHOW JOHN PAUL JONES PLAYED KEY BOARDS MOST ALL NIGHT THEY HAD A GUY WHOS LAST NAME WAS CARLSON PLAYING BASS BUT I CANT REMEMBER HIS FIRST NAME. AND OF COURSE JOHN PAUL DID PLAY BASS WITH HIS FEET UNDER THE KEY BOARD ON SOME SONGS. IT WAS A GOOD SHOW.
This is beyond AWESOME, John Henry Bonham was with out a doubt a great drummer, I have heard all of there studio stuff a million times over but I thank you as this version is new to me, Thank You for sharing as I am A Led Head.
I started playing guitar because of them. I just recorded my first demo album. If you want to hear how Led Zeppelin-inspired music sounds 2010 style click on wisztrock.
I have seen many concerts in both the United States and Europe. In fact the 1st concert I saw was Led Zeppelin Jan 18th, 1975 in Minneapolis MN. After seeing other concerts I again saw Led Zeppelin April 12th, 1977 at the same venue. During my military service I was stationed in West Berlin. For the 3rd time, I was able to secure tickets and had a front row seat (standing) at a Led Zeppelin concert, 7 July 1980. Little did I know it was to be Bonzo's final performance. I saw a apart of history.
Im 16, a huge fan of music, yet i've never gone to a concert, but a couple years ago I tried to get my hands on the 2007 Led Zeppelin tickets, I never got them, but it would of been awesome for someone of my age to say, "My first concert I went to was Led Zeppelin"
I doubt they will ever play again, but if they do, I will be willing to give up all my guitars for a ticket
When the 2007 concert at the O2 arean in London was announced, there were 20,000,000 ticket requests for only 20,000 available tickets. This caused the system to crash. You are correct they will never again play as Led Zeppelin. In fact if it were not for Jason Bonham on drums, they may have not performed as Led Zeppelin. I was 15 when I first saw LZ and 20 when I saw their final performance with John Bonham on drums. Hang in there even when your 1st concert won't be Led Zeppelin.
@lukeazadee i'd have loved to see them, probably the last time together. i'm glad to say my first concert i went yo Roger Waters in 2007, I was only ten

hey everyone,i just upload stairway to heaven 2 unreleased version- led zeppelin feat pink floyd.Check it out at my profile..i just upload 1 video only.
John Paul Jones used the Fairlight CMI synthesizer for this tour, i think he was one of the first musicians to own one. it was the first digital sampler and was a very expensive instrument, although Jones was happy to get rid of most of his stage keyboards.he kept his Yamaha piano for since i been lovng you and the Honer clavinet for trampled underfoot.
for the studio verson of all of my love and the 1979 concerts Jones used the Yamaha GX1 synth.
@lucho663 John Paul Jones did it all. He was amazing. He had foot bass pedals so in songs such as this one, The Rain Song, No Quarter and Since I've Been Loving You he played the bass with his feet. He was an absolute genius. All my keyboard playing friends just can't believe how talented he was.
@lucho663@lucho663 He have a little fender bass keyboard with only 2 octave and he play it simultaneously, infact the bass in this song sounds very mechanical
I love this song. However, it makes me very sad. June 30 1980...only a few more months until John Bonham passes away. This feels like a reqium. R.I.P John Bonham...you helped forge one of the greatest bands in history..if not the greatest. Led Zeppelin forever!
LZ are one of my favourite bands ever. Always on the prowl for new stuff in this vein. Recently came across the Black Keys, a crazy duo called Left Lane Cruiser and an unknown band called DeepSeaGreen.
page only used a theremin in whole lotta love (the eary sounds just beforethe solo) and a little bit of no quarter. a theremin is an instrument invented in the late 1920 or early 1903s. it was the first digital instrument. they work through radio waves creating sound through a loud speaker. by moving yor hand around the antanna it alters the pitch.
Growing up on long Island and being 15 when Bonham died I am still heartbroken because I was going to go to Zep's "In through the Outdoor tour" and it never happened. I have read that tickets were already sold for some of the US tour, imagine having a Zep ticket that could never be redeemed.

they never, -never-, left a crowd unsatisfied, DID YOU KNOW THAT ONE NIGHT IN LIKE 73, THEY PLAYED A CONCERT AND THEY TURNED OFF THE POWER AFTER THE CONCERT, THE RIOT WAS SO BIG THEY WENT BACK TO THE CONCERT, AND PLAYED EVEN LONGER, WITHOUT POWER thats how fucking amazing they are, and will be, they are the gods of music
aww i loved reading that!! were you there? They are truly amazing and its sad to think there will never be anything like them again. i wish so badly i could have lived back then!!! i don't think anyone understands how much i love it!!!!!

Yeah, 1980. John "Bonzo" Bonham (Bono is the guy from U2, remember) died on September 25, 1980.

In most cases i hate syntesisers but this here is a masterpiece. And the performance is so good

@0live0wire0 wasn't it a keyboard that was used instead of a synthesizer?

I didn't know that he had a son that died..very sorry to hear and yes knowing that makes the song more understandable..Thanks

This song was written for Robert Plant's son, who died unexpectedly and at a very young age. Listen to it in that context, and the lyrics make sense.
