  • i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee barbara lewis Voice Muahhhhhh she is my Girl

  • It's a great song that lends itself to many interpretations. I like this one. :-)

  • Check out Abbey Lincoln's version.

  • she missed the whole point of this song , each note and word , the whole song , the music , the chords , is supposed to flow in circular motion if u know what i mean guys lol most versions flow , one word into another next verse into another before u know it after three different verses u are back to the first almost like u are in this circle of beautiful music ...and u cant get out ...

what she has done here is chopped it up and lose the meaning of the song .... not impressed

  • YOu sound GRRRReat...Great Tone!!

i just recorded this..."Live"..would LUV & appreciate any comments@@ my channel

    Blessings :)

  • Dark SHADOWS guys... the other sample is the Dark Shadows Theme by Robert Cobert (it's on youtube look it up)

  • whoever is having us lose the playing of Barbara Lewis GO SUCK A EGG please post or whatever u have to do to get her music to the world(me) "think a little suger"

  • I love the icy-cool late 60's feel of this version. Very much more slick than the somewhat rushed Noel Harrison original.

  • Esthero has the best version of this

  • I guess I'm in the minority here, but I quitelLike Ms. Lewis's version.. Admittedly, it's different from the more pensive reading by Dusty Springfield or Petula Clark, however that makes her take on this classic all the more interesting. Thanks for posting this great version!

  • What a great version! How can you denigrate this?

  • @eastshorejohn Dusty has a better voice, her arrangement is better, the tempo is better (but still too slow). Apart from that Barbara lewis has sucked all the life from the song.

  • excellent voice,

dreadful rendition of this song though.

  • Hate it

  • Scarface samples this in Dying With Your Boots On (1993)

  • so funky and great version, great voice and tasteful rhythm guitar

  • I love this version.

  • I'm not feeling this cover . Ms. Lewis has a beautiful voice but I prefer the slower pace of Dusty and even more recently of Alison Moyet. Thank you for posting. Greta to hear multiple versions of the some tunes. One of the better parts of YouTube...

  • A great rendition..I always loved this song, Dusty is great also, Barbara's soulful voice makes this version..the background music could have been much better for her.

  • I love he voice and interpretation...think it may be one of my favorite versions .....voice wise...too bad the orchestration /production is so cliched

  • This version is different and has its own beat, .......like it very much

  • I agree with davidaud777, her voice is great but the song works because it flows endlessly. This version doesn't.

  • Premoooooooooooo

  • She's good, her voice is superb, however, I think the style in which she sings it kills the whole pondering mood of the song...

  • ya it's unique....but the circular nature of the sound is diminished with this arrangement

  • Seems to be the best version of the song!

  • Barbara Lewis owns The Windmills of your Mind. It's perfect for her voice lets her reach the highs with just the right volume, easy to listen to.

  • Dusty Springfield's version remains my favourite but this is funky and I am loving it!

  • Just heard Dusty's... Very nice.....But this one is so soulful...

  • Beautiful!

  • GREAT voice - so cool, wow. Love this.

  • what happen to barbara lewis

  • She retired in 1970 but came out of retirement after 20 years and is still performing. I just saw her at a Valentine's concert in Los Angeles and she was fabulous. I also got to meet her. Join us at her fan club site squidoo (dot com)/barbaralewis.

  • O enekli a legjobban!!!!!

  • Gangstarr Fucking amazing Primo You need to stop trick my min like that get hypt when i connect the beat with each other :D

  • királynő

  • Nice!!

  • just another flavour!,luvin it

  • cry on

  • if you think it's not good it's because of the internet quality. trust me.

  • She has sucked out all the romance and beauty of this song. This is terrible! Not all "jazz" versions are improvements.

  • which version is your favorite?

  • @incrediblecHiller dusty's ver is the best by far

  • @incrediblecHiller Can't believe I've been missing this gem for so long! This is the funkiest version of T.W.O.Y.M. I've ever heard! AWESOME indeed. My favorite ones though are: Dusty Springfield's and Sting's. Jose Feliciano's stands out too. But I only have two favorite.

  • I agree. Just like Sting's version. Well sung, but the harmonies are changed beyond recognition and the song is ruined.

  • I agree. I love the version from Alison Moyet.

  • @teachmike2000 Come on, this is such a schmaltzy song to begin with; neither romantic nor beautiful. At best you get a fun, catchy arrangement like this one, and there ain't nothing wrong with that.

  • There is a Barbara Lewis fan club at squidoo (dot) com (slash) barbaralewis and I have a fan page at myspace (dot) com (slash) barbaralewisfan with lots of pictures (slide show) and lots of info. Please visit both sites. She has come out of retirement and is performing with other Oldies artists.

  • Scarface used this for "Dying With Your Boots On".

  • No one will ever equal Barbara's soulful voice.

  • Gangstarr's The Millitia (the 1st one on Moment of Truth) samples "Dark Towers" by Robert Cobert if im not mistaken......

  • nah, this is definately the militia sample.

you must have mixed things up or there is a "secondary" sample i wouldn't know of...

  • @incrediblecHiller yea this is it. but theres another one. u might not notice it cuz i said the same thing at first, its the sample used right before everyones verse

  • @DeEmReegs17 thats the other part he sampled but this is the main sample

  • Barbara's voice is incredible.

    Ann Adams

  • Thats for sure.

  • this is a very different way of singging this beutifull song which realy make me cry when ever i here this valuable antique song anywhere by any singers

  • Used for "The Militia" by Gangstarr

  • seem like this is the song that is sung most number of singers....

  • Thank you for posting! Really clear, showcases her beautiful voice. Thanks
