The reason that they died was because info wasn't released sooner enough, not because they didn't evacuate sooner enough, the sole purpose of the video was regarding to the way he reacted to the reporter about blaming innocent civilians. Hmm but then thinking about it, if the reporters/media got there in time, shouldn't the gov already be there? govt shouldn't wait for media to notify them anything regarding to a crisis. The fact that the president went to a wedding and was late for 30min+ to arrive the crisis control central is unforgivable. If actions were taken 30min earlier there would be less people sacrificed in this occasion, not to mention that they turned down on international assistance while they really need it.

Nope, Chen's parent lives in Tainan, every single Taiwanese knows how much effort Chen put into the south side as he even mentioned about moving the capital city to the south side. Chen has been the mayor of Taipei too, it's just that you don't see Ma too much at south side at all. No one said it's Ma's fault for not doing much for the south side, but it's his fault to blame on people that lives there. Again, the main point is about his words towards those people that died in a horrible death.

No, the typhoon already approached on the 7th that's why the crisis central has already code red standby, dad was in Tainan at that time for conference so I'm fully aware of this. That is the main reason that pissed people off. 8th was when the heavy storm brought severe rain. "no one allowed to go home" was since the 7th for people working at the crisis control center, Ma was late for more than half an hour when he was supposed to be there commanding, at that time there's already people dying.

I'm not a DPP fan nor a KMT fan since I don't get myself into politics anymore. your arguments that this was a natural disaster and no one could of predicted that this, I agree. but I think this time, Ma did mess up and the government wasn't fully capable of handling. Most dpp favoured policies would be barred from passing because kmt had larger numbers, that's what they did to force the law to be changed. Its common sense that if a party is at rule... that party should have atleast 60 % of the seats which means during DPP's rule... its the DPP who has majority of the seats...

No...@_@... that's the presidential election poll not parliament seats. When dpp was in place, over 50% of parliament seats were kmt so basically they were the ones setting the game rules. Now kmt is in place and has more seats in parliament so they shouldn't blame anything on anyone, and certainly not on civilians.
Nah, presidential election poll and parliament seats are two different elections done at two different time frames, the more parliament seats you have in a nation's parliament the greater decision authorities you'll have. In this case although dpp was the one that won presidential election but kmt won more parliament seats, which are the ones to decide or not to change laws, Taiwan's future directions etc :)

So far, Ma's admin had spent a lot of money without much impact. It's a repeat from the days he was Taipei mayor. Only effective leadership and policies will get Taiwan back on track. Yes some would think it's silly, but then again, it's for balancing the colony, just like what they did in South Korea. To move capital is not dumb but needs a very long and accurate planning and calculation, the reason for it is to avoid urbanization, which causes overpopulation, traffic issues, land value rising and pollutions etc. and I'm sure these are all currently some of Taiwan's main problem. Also the memorial header was changed once by dpp, kmt changed it back at midnight secretly...

Nah, that's the whole point, you don't move capital into an already urbanized location, that'd be counter-effective. Of course south side isn't the financial central of Taiwan, but don't forget where the main cash flow comes from. It's like in Australia, Camberra isn't anywhere near as rich and financial capable as Sydney and Melbourne, yet it's the capital of Australia. Finance and business elements alone doesn't constitute of a capital city of a nation :)

Based on knowledge and maturity, you're a kid. Earthquake is harder to predict and pinpoint the location, but there is seismographs to detect earth tremor. There is always little tremors before the big ones. Weather satellites and radars can track tropical depression or storm in early stage way before it reaches any land. There is a lot time to prepare such as storing food and water, evacuation for low-lying areas subject to flooding or mudslides. Ma didn't issue warning or rescue people.

Yup of course he didn't mean it, but that doesn't mean it's the civilian's fault. The reason that they died was because info wasn't released sooner enough, not because they didn't evacuate sooner enough, the sole purpose of the video was regarding to the way he reacted to the reporter about blaming innocent civilians. No offense but every government somehow benefits from illegal channels, the thing is that it's obviously which side 'ate' more throughout history and in this case it's clearly kmt.

Hmm but then thinking about it, if the reporters/media got there in time, shouldn't the gov already be there? govt shouldn't wait for media to notify them anything regarding to a crisis. The fact that the president went to a wedding and was late for 30min+ to arrive the crisis control central is unforgivable. If actions were taken 30min earlier there would be less people sacrificed in this occasion, not to mention that they turned down on international assistance while they really need it.

Yes and that's the whole point of the issue that most Taiwan people have right now: he shouldn't blame on anyone, not the civilians at least. He could say that it was too rushed and there just weren't enough resources at disposal, not just telling one of the largest media in the world that it's the civilian's fault. Ya, but the whole south sectors of Taiwan isn't just "everywhere" or "anywhere", North sector isn't all Taiwan is about, they do deserve the same attention. Yes, it's not easy, but they do need to be sure about every word spoken. No, he didn't do anything for the south sector, the elected official, which are the mayors, are the ones that's making advancements of a city, govt central only goes through plans and policies requested from local and make decisions in regarding to whether to release the funds or not, KaoHsuing was advanced ever since the previous president was in place, and no, it wasn't Chen who took the credit, the mayors did :)

Nope, Chen's parent lives in Tainan, every single Taiwanese knows how much effort Chen put into the south side as he even mentioned about moving the capital city to the south side. Chen has been the mayor of Taipei too, it's just that you don't see Ma too much at south side at all. No one said it's Ma's fault for not doing much for the south side, but it's his fault to blame on people that lives there. Again, the main point is about his words towards those people that died in a horrible death.

No, the typhoon already approached on the 7th that's why the crisis central has already code red standby, dad was in Tainan at that time for conference so I'm fully aware of this. That is the main reason that pissed people off. 8th was when the heavy storm brought severe rain. "no one allowed to go home" was since the 7th for people working at the crisis control center, Ma was late for more than half an hour when he was supposed to be there commanding, at that time there's already people dying.

The main fact here is, both Chen and Ma committed this crime, but Ma obviously got away with it because laws regarding to the allowances has been changed by kmt in order to get Ma out of the trouble. No, they cannot change the law like what kmt has been doing for the past 9 years, as kmt had larger numbers in the parliament and I'm sure you'd know that too. Most dpp favoured policies would be barred from passing because kmt had larger numbers, that's what they did to force the law to be changed. It seems like you've been talking about surface issues all the time but not really considering why and how it happened? Yes, if there's evidence then they should be in jail, if not, save it.

No...@_@... that's the presidential election poll not parliament seats. When dpp was in place, over 50% of parliament seats were kmt so basically they were the ones setting the game rules. Now kmt is in place and has more seats in parliament so they shouldn't blame anything on anyone, and certainly not on civilians.

Nah, presidential election poll and parliament seats are two different elections done at two different time frames, the more parliament seats you have in a nation's parliament the greater decision authorities you'll have. In this case although dpp was the one that won presidential election but kmt won more parliament seats, which are the ones to decide or not to change laws, Taiwan's future directions etc :)

So far, Ma's admin had spent a lot of money without much impact. It's a repeat from the days he was Taipei mayor. Only effective leadership and policies will get Taiwan back on track. Oh please killing Chen? My God!!! didnt u know a detective was sent from the US to detect this case and coz he knew very well who did this...which was he shot himself...it was just a show!!! thats why he went back or else he wud have been caught and killed by the DPP!!! if I had a chance to kill him...why wudnt I kill him right at the heart why in a place where he isnt going to die!!! common sense!

Nah this was ages ago mate, we're talking about different things, it was a car accident outside of his place, not about the gun shot, this was way back. There's never any evidence showing that he shot himself, you do know that a couple of cm difference can be fatal right? I'm not too sure whether there's anyone with that sort of accuracy even by using a sniper without wind/light/heat distraction...

Your so called "detective" ended the investigation by claiming it's not a self inflicted wound, he is a kmt supporter, and now even kmt doesn't believe his report and wanted to regroup another investigation team, don't you think that's ironic :)?

Nope, I'm not screaming, if you look at my previous replied you'd know that I've been reasoning. I don't really care who shot the bullet and who made her in a wheelchair for the remaining life time as it may be a secret forever. I'm solely commenting on what I can see right now which is what's happening in this video and that the government screwed up bad this time, don't really know why all the dpp and kmt crap.

This was what happened when dpp was in place, they were blamed for everything from petrol price to economy, kmt at the time commented "don't blame anything on international influence" but now they blame everything on international influences too. It's not easy to simply making the economics climb. dpp couldn't do it, neither could kmt at this stage, I can only say what comes around comes around.

No, you obviously forgot what happened before, you lower the fuel price, they'll be in huge debt, kmt will complain in that case about government's dumb decision, you pull up the petrol price, kmt will complain too about not being able to control the fuel price. So yes, let's see what kmt is gonna do, they raised this issue, now they're in total control, shouldn't we see some changes? I sure don't see much changes regarding this issue.

well are u physically in taiwan? if ur not then how cud u say so... on the 7th the typhoon hadnt even reach taiwan.. it was at a standby position near hwa lian....it was all over the news... and the news even said they didnt know how long it was gonna drag its stay in taiwan!

No, but as mentioned my parent was in Tainan, and it was already pretty severe over there on the 7th that's why 7th was a day off and code red for everyone. If it's all over the news you'd see that typhoon has already began on the 7th, 8th was when it went "REALLY BAD". Yes if no one knows how long this is going to drag and that means it's severe and gov officials should be ready at all time to avoid any destructions happening, which in this case is what this video is all about not about dpp/kmt

No, and I don't think anyone in Taiwan that suffers from the crisis cares. He went to dye his hair on the 11th, even if it doesn't take a long time, they knew doing this would make the news heading. Why do so? Why when everyone's searching body etc and you're dying your hair? If you think that's not a big deal, no one can change how you think, but the fact that it's all over the news means that majority of the populations do think it's a big deal.

and yea u were saying Chen wanted to make the south city a capital city... are u sure?!!!! Taipei is not good enough to be the capital...? that he has to change it to the south? U know how much money wud that cost? by changing a freaking name on the memorial hall wasted so much money that he not only changed it once but bloody times...>!!!

You've never heard about it :S? It was all over the news about moving capital, but yes anyone knows that it comes at a cost, but many also understands why he had the thought. Changing the name on the memorial hall header wasted money and may be useless and dumb, but why don't we talk about the time and money the new government spent to changed it back afterward? Is that really smart?

Yes some would think it's silly, but then again, it's for balancing the colony, just like what they did in South Korea. To move capital is not dumb but needs a very long and accurate planning and calculation, the reason for it is to avoid urbanization, which causes overpopulation, traffic issues, land value rising and pollutions etc. and I'm sure these are all currently some of Taiwan's main problem. Also the memorial header was changed once by dpp, kmt changed it back at midnight secretly...

I wud say its ridiculous...he should urbanize the south first before making it the capital... sometimes he is just off his brains...I agree Kao is not a bad place...but at this time.... its the second best city in Taiwan!!!...we all love it!!!...but its not the financial and business center of Taiwan!

Nah, that's the whole point, you don't move capital into an already urbanized location, that'd be counter-effective. Of course south side isn't the financial central of Taiwan, but don't forget where the main cash flow comes from. It's like in Australia, Camberra isn't anywhere near as rich and financial capable as Sydney and Melbourne, yet it's the capital of Australia. Finance and business elements alone doesn't constitute of a capital city of a nation :)

Well you're wrong, as a matter of fact I'm just pointing the facts and negate your saying about moving capital is meaningless. It is not meaningless but a procedure that takes a long time, countless resource to implement. Some that are more caring about the environment and the quality of living would probably agree about this, after all a nation is not just all about your so called "financial and business central". It's much more than that.

Exactly, so why did the president blamed these people for not evacuating sooner enough when asked by the CNN reporter? According to him if the government couldn't predict this, what gives him the right to blame on these people? I don't think any of these civilians could've predicted this typhoon's severity so the main point of this video was to show that it's wrong about him blaming on the civilians. Yes, I'm sure they'll evacuate if gov had the info sooner enough, not after days.

Based on knowledge and maturity, you're a kid. Earthquake is harder to predict and pinpoint the location, but there is seismographs to detect earth tremor. There is always little tremors before the big ones. Weather satellites and radars can track tropical depression or storm in early stage way before it reaches any land. There is a lot time to prepare such as storing food and water, evacuation for low-lying areas subject to flooding or mudslides. Ma didn't issue warning or rescue people.

Didn't you see even foreign media said Ma seems arrogant and aloof? He doesn't have the quality to lead as a president. If he can't get the cabinets and staff right, he can't direct them to act. He doesn't have a clue himself. He doesn't to listen all he did was to find excuses for failure. The best way for him is to resign and let some one who is capable to step in.
