  • Well, there are several beach resorts nearby. San Fernando, La Union :-)

  • I think I remember this place, is it near a local Beach?

  • What I meant is, if I leave some power on until the flare, then chop, I get better landings. The stall horn is always blaring during the touchdown. Else you're too fast.

See the Carlo's "Indescribable Pilots" video. That's a spot landing in full idle. The runway is only 600 meters long, with a 45 meter power line pole directly aligned with it 20 meters from the threshold (a meter is 3.3 feet).

The touchdown was right on the edge of the pavement.

  • Try greasing it with the stall horn going. THAT'S a good landing and won't be achievable with the power at 1000 RPM.

  • Hey, Mark. 1513 is a sinker, and falls out of the sky when I chop (ask me how I know this)

If I leave 1,000-1,200 rpm on during the flare I get greasers :-P

  • Good effort Tonet. I always chop early as I'm used to landing at Omni...will try to replicate next trip up to SF. Best,

    Mark
