  • Blushing: until THIS MOMENT, I had not realized that there were CLEAN, non-sarcastic verses to this song -- all 7 of us kids loved it because our mother would always yell at our dad for singing what I now know was NOT the real thing. Thank you for the laugh at myself -- and for finally being able to understand my mom's irritation!

  • 1.57. I wonder if was the late Bill Johnson's little harmonic that made Marty chuckle there? They certainly seem like a band that enjoys what they do. Its such a pity that we are on this earth for such a short time.......

  • The old country music is the best not like the country music these days and marty robbins was the best and they will never be another xx..

  • I liked the guitar solo!

  • B.D. -Sept. 26 th. {  me too lol }

    First triple By-pass in history. Gave him another 10 years.

    Great Talent . RIP.

  • tarquin, Marty was always a great person to be around backstage at the Opry. Some of his quips brings a smile to me still. One time I remember he tried to out rhinestone Porter and brought a coat with him that had almost a square inch of material showing. It was all in fun, and Marty was certainly fun to be around.

  • what a great singer he was.Marty

    and Hank are the only real

    country singers  we have

    seen.

  • @AgentCarter yes of course i forgot,the father of country music.

  • A fellow by the name of Jimmy Work wrote this. I met him when he worked at Goodyear in Union City, Tennessee. He also wrote the classic, "Makin' Believe"..

  • was 5249 I certainly agree with you. He not only had the most beautiful of voices, but knew how to use it. His songwriting was second to none and he was overloaded with charisma. A special person who we will never see the likes of again.

  • I love everything he ever sang. I belive he was the best I ever heard.

  • Great singer and Nice posting.
