Actually Sanskrit is a derivative from Indo-Iranian langauge (which came from Central Asia). When these Central Asians settled along Saraswati River, they developed Sanskrit. Sanskrit was NOT developed in kashmir, though kashmiri does have a Sanskrit base (with added Farsi and some Arabic). Kashmiris followed Proto-Indo-Iranian religion.They were Vedic Saraswat brahmins. Kashmiri Pandits traditionally did not get nose piercings. The Kashmiri Muslims in the Srinagar also did not ususally get nose piercings, but it was quite common in the villages. Also note that the nose was usually pierced on the left side and not the right (for reasons I don't know). In South India, it is more common for them to pierce their nose on the right side.

Most of the Muslims and Pandits of Kashmir valley share a common ethnicity. There are however a small number of Bengalis and Biharis who moved into Kashmir some 200 yrs back and mixed with the poorer Pandits, resulting in some pandits who don;t look kashmiri. There are also some Bihari/UPite Muslims who moved into the valley and mixed with the Muslims there. Anyway, the two communities share more in common than with either Indians or Pakistanis, in terms of language, food, and culture.

However I don't think a good looking Pashtun (Imran Khan cricketer, Emaad Irfani from what I know) look any better than the Punjabis which are good looking (Hrithik, Fazal Mahmood (cricketer), Akshay Oberoi) but on average there are of course a higher percentage of good looking Pashtuns than Punjabis - this is because many Punjabis are mixed with Dravidian.

I have one Kashmiri Hindu Pandit friend call Amit Razdan, he is the cousin of Aman Kachroo and he himself says that there are the real Kashmiri Pandits - all those other tribes who moved there are by all means not considered real Kashmiris according to what I have seen. That is like saying the Niazi Pashtun tribes (like Imran Khan) living in Punjabi are Punjabi.

You are wrong abt Pandits being Zoroastrians. There was a religion in Central Asia known as Proto-Indo-Iranian religion. This religion gave rise to two sets of beliefs- 1) Vedic philosophy and 2) Zoroastrian faith. Central Asians settled along the now-dried up Saraswati River (Saraswat Brahmins) developed Vedic philosophy. Central Asians who settled in Persia developed Zoroastrianism. Pandits had some Zoroastrian influence but we still are Vedic followers (Saraswat Brahmins)

Actually Sanskrit is a derivative from Indo-Iranian langauge (which came from Central Asia). When these Central Asians settled along Saraswati River, they developed Sanskrit. Sanskrit was NOT developed in kashmir, though kashmiri does have a Sanskrit base (with added Farsi and some Arabic). Kashmiris followed Proto-Indo-Iranian religion.They were Vedic Saraswat brahmins. There is no religion known as Hinduism- Hinduism as a monolith is a misconception.

Kashmiri Pandits traditionally did not get nose piercings. The Kashmiri Muslims in the Srinagar also did not ususally get nose piercings, but it was quite common in the villages. Also note that the nose was usually pierced on the left side and not the right (for reasons I don't know). In South India, it is more common for them to pierce their nose on the right side.

Yes, Kashmir actually is only the valley, where people speak in kashmiri language and have koshur culture (Pherans, pashmina shawals, Kangri, Rogan Josh/Goshtaba, Pahalgam, Gulmarg). Neither the Azad Kashmiris nor the Dogras know anything of our culture. Dogras/Azad Kashmiris (Pothwaris) are practically the same people. In fact POK and Jammu actually are more like extensions of Punjab. Kashmiri culture is Central Asian and not South Asian. Ladakh is more like Tibet.

Most of the Muslims and Pandits of Kashmir valley share a common ethnicity. There are however a small number of Bengalis and Biharis who moved into Kashmir some 200 yrs back and mixed with the poorer Pandits, resulting in some pandits who don;t look kashmiri. There are also some Bihari/UPite Muslims who moved into the valley and mixed with the Muslims there. Anyway, the two communities share more in common than with either Indians or Pakistanis, in terms of language, food, and culture.

However I don't think a good looking Pashtun (Imran Khan cricketer, Emaad Irfani from what I know) look any better than the Punjabis which are good looking (Hrithik, Fazal Mahmood (cricketer), Akshay Oberoi) but on average there are of course a higher percentage of good looking Pashtuns than Punjabis - this is because many Punjabis are mixed with Dravidian.

I have one Kashmiri Hindu Pandit friend call Amit Razdan, he is the cousin of Aman Kachroo and he himself says that there are the real Kashmiri Pandits - all those other tribes who moved there are by all means not considered real Kashmiris according to what I have seen. That is like saying the Niazi Pashtun tribes (like Imran Khan) living in Punjabi are Punjabi.

I know many Kashmiris are yeah in general they are not colored at all - they are usually olive complexioned or in some terms white. And from what I have seen the Gujjars are the lightest in the whole of NW India - I have seen so many with light eyes, and dirty Blonde hair - not that I care about these things but just saying.

And actually even most Pashtuns I know do not even have light eyes - the majority of the world has dark brown eyes - Mongoloids are there in Himachal Pradesh but they do not make up the majority I would say it is 50-50 - when I say Himachali I mean mainly Dhogra and Gujjar people.
