I quite enjoyed this video. it was well filmed for being what appears to be a one man project. the storyline, IMO needed more development in the beginning to connect the viewers with why the character felt the need to commit suicide. without thisdevelopment, viewers are left feeling disconnected from the character + idea that you are trying to portray - the end result is your audience feeling upset at witnessing a suicide without understanding the message the artist is trying to convey.

ok, i'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but you should not slash your wrists sideways. you'll be spending a painful and long time cutting through all those tendons that control your hands. you should go between the tendons, vertically towards the inside of your elbow.

and that knife is huge and would be quite difficult to control. a scalpel or even a steak knife or piece of glass would be a lot better

Not all sad songs are emo. Emo is a particular derivation of hardcore. NIN, Pink Floyd and The Cure made (make) quite depressing music, but they were around before EMO went mainstream.

You'll have to go through it line by line, as Matty tends to go for single really compelling lines rather than whole songs that make good sense when put together. I'm not complaining, it's just observation ;)

I've always read this one as being about two people growing up together, and one - the "you" in the song - somehow becoming a much worse person than whom the speaker used to know in their youth. I'm sure others will see it differently though.

When I heard the song I thought it had to do with his battle with sarcoidosis. He had vocal cord surgery before writing this album.

The film has nothing to do with that because sadly I had to film this by myself in one evening and then had a couple of hours to edit it. Everything was rather spur of the moment.
