Holger has always reminded me a bit of a mad scientist. He apparently has a very good sense of humor. Of course their sales of albums are probably better now than they were in the 1970's. Amazing was being on of the most influential bands of their era did for them.

Hi this is Lucky again. Sometimes we remember that music is of individual taste and that even a shitcan can be named a genius, depend of who is talking. True genius at that time? Here is just one: Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and still serves in the view of experimental composing and performance up today.
Lucky, your comments smack of sour grapes. Just because you only like Holgers output "some of the time" is hardly reason for your dismissmal of his music as " a true pain in the arse if you`re not stoned or crazy" Holger and Can are a truly important influence on music around the world. I hope the world understands you are not really bitter about the result of your "cologne jams" with Holger.

CAN back than and as of today can be a true pain in the a if youre not completly stoned or crazy. May the world understand that this is NOT german art but always a poor intention to pick up with the great US and Brits that time. I like some of it but..... do we need ocasional well doing musicians or do we need original and true artists? Sorry Holger, maybe you remember me from a couple of Cologne Jams, lets get to the next level, right.
I believe it's a song from Can's 1988 reunion album 'Rite Time' but not sure the name. Not their best record by any means...I recommend (as highly as I can) getting Ege Bamyasi, Tago Mago or Monster Movie to start with.
You're right on all counts. I have never been able to get hold of Rite Time though, but I'm well aware of Can's earlier stuff.
I wonder if the album is shit or is it just that rock critics think it is. I love Holger's solo work from around the same time and that is generally panned by those "in the know."
er... Genius!

Jawoll, that's right. The best psychelic band of Europe ever. And I'm met a few of them during my holidays in Croatia in ± 1972....

Holger is an amazing musician and apparently funny as hell! A huge inspiration to me on bass and electronic noises. Great vid.

He can't. LuckySaintLuis is just an inbreed hater. At least Walmart has all the Christian rock that he could ever want.
