Pier Platters! Definitely one of the great independent record stores. A sad day when they closed ...the irony of seeing this now is that bands defecting to the majors, and SY lead the way in making it 'cool', unwittingly contributed to the demise of indy record stores since every 'alternative' band that sold more than 10,000 copies was signed during the wake of Nirvana's Nevermind.

Indy stores had a very tough time competing when the mega chain stores now carried similar inventory cheaper.Sad.

first: english is not our (germany) mother tongue ), so is clearly that the answers are sounding a bit weird. imagine how its sound when an american tries to speak german.
