Salut
Nice groovy version. You're missing one chord, though. You're using F instead of Dm. It gives your version kind of a "happier" vibe during the bridge, but I personally like better the original one. Congratulations anyway :)
Hi jseb. Yes Yes you got the feel of this. I see you study guitar music. The first time I heard Dire Straits on my van radio back in 1978 I knew this was something special. It was way to sophisticated for the UK pop scene at that time. It was one of the cathartic moments..like 9/11..the assasination of JFK. I am not at all musical but if I was...then MK would be my hero. To me MK is a contemporary Strauss.
It's always interesting to know how people feel the music and how a song or a band is associated in the memorie with some historical even, or a own personal event...
Dire Straits have a special place in these 1970's ending years... and for me MK have a real talent of song writer and contemporary "composer", like Bob Dylan.
You deserve the comment. I remember too the first time I heard "Mr Tambourine Man" by Bob Dylan. I was about 14. This was another one of those moments frozen in memory. I waited about 30 years to find out who sang that song.
Trying to understand why these moments happen is like trying to catch smoke in the air...beyond rationality.
I want to do a new video of this song with a better video quality. I want to play it with two guitars, an acoustic and a electric one. With the technique of re recording, I hope it should'nt be too difficult. Hope you'll like it too!
At 1:04 and 1:11 you play a wrong chord. You play F Major, but it is a D Minor chord. At least Mark Knopfler plays it this way.

I just watched the 77 demo you posted, and was drawn to have a look at your guitar playing. I'm glad I did. Very nice, thanks for posting them both.
