  • Been there a couple of times now. Its an interesting town. Lots of little places to eat, People selling stuff along the street. It can be a bit dirty, but that goes for much of the towns in costa rica. They have poor trash management and are not highly educated. As for crimes, I cant say much. I wouldnt recommed leaving anything anywhere, you will probably never see it again. All the times I've been there, I have not been robbed, or harmed, but was asked many times if i wanted to buy some weed

  • The people we stayed with were attacked by masked gunmen at their home with guns and machetes, beware if you plan on making the trip here. I am surprised that we made it through o.k. Walking around in Puerto Viejo in the town area I did not feel like it was a safe environment at all. In fact one of the local drug dealers had a bandana on his face like a real outlaw and he was sitting out in the open while we were walking around and no one seemed to care. He offered to get us some weed but...

  • Lived here for 4 months. Don't let stories about rain and drugs stop you from going to paradise. Just go, you won't regret it.

  • Wow!!! Amazing video

  • I spent 6 months in costa rica in 2001. Puerto Viejo was the only place I got robbed. I wonder if El Loco Natural is still jamming down there.

  • Puerto Viejo can be sketchy.

  • My husband was just there in Puerto Viejo! He said it was beautiful but it did rain a lot. Does it rain more on the Atlantic side?

  • drugs are taking its toal on the community.

  • drugs are taking its toll on your spelling

  • Drugs are taking THEIR toll on your spelling as well. Drugs is a plural noun, therefore you should use a plural pronoun... xD

  • I have gone to this beautiful place in Costa Rica. The video does not lie it is truly PARADISE
