At video play time of 1:00 minute into the video, I was standing exactly where you your standing when I was there in Ginza Tokyo on July 4, and 5 of 2011. You are extremely close to the metal lion statue. I'm from the Tampa, Florida area. Maybe I can post my video of that same spot soon. I tried to get into the Nissan building accross the street, but the doors were locked. I was there too late at night I guess. Anyway, all of Tokyo is amazing. The Japanese people are so cool and modern.

@blade1417z Well I work for a major airline as a ramp agent, and I get free flight privileges, but they still charged me for taxes and other fees that added up to about $80 round trip, so it's not completely free, but I flew first class. It would still have costed me the exact same thing even in coach. I guess that price isn't too bad?

@herrerakim80 In metropolis in Japan it's faster by public transport, walking or bike for short distance. Too much traffic plus Japan is too crowded you'll probably have to pay a dollar every 10-20 minutes for parking & to rent a parking space would cost you a couple hundred bucks a month.

Every Japanese person studies english in highschool since the war... so most have a basic level of english. You can usualy find some one who can speak at least basic enough to make a transaction. Places like Ginza are high tourist areas, so the stores like to have people who can speak to their customers...

There's a cool hole in the wall bar called "the Pink Cow" in Shibuya. It's off the beaten track but it's full of travelers. You can meet people to go sightseeing with. Also check out the you tube videos of a comedian staying in Tokyo. i think it's called "life in Tokyo". I found it pretty helpful before i went.

shadowpal2, I'm happy for you. Japan is a beautiful nation, with temples, castles and nature. Tokyo and Osaka are vibrant and have a great night-life. I guess the only trouble with Tokyo is that it's quite expensive, but the low-rent apartments shouldn't be hard to find!

And if big cities aren't your thing, Kyoto might be of interest to you. Called the city of 1000 temples, it is peaceful and full of culture. You can enjoy Noh theatre, check out the Golden Temple, or simply have a walk. Enjoy!
