whenever I listen to Mariah's voice, the reality is this girl is NEVER going to be able to sing the way she did ion the 90's again. Her voice is destroyed from 15 years of singing whistle register. Its a sad reality, but don't expect any more tracks like 'Emotions' again.

@BlueSpirit3743 Alot of great singers lose their original voice as they age. The reality is, people age and so do their vocal chords. Look at Marilyn Manson, Dani Filth, Whitney Houston, Courtney Love - the last two could be attributed to drug use, but I think its more or less the fact that they've gotten older than anything.

@LordKalbert I used to think that, however, Mariah's just over 40 - and so is Celine Dion. Tina Turner sounded better than ever when she played Wembley in 2000, and she was 60 then (granted Turner didn't sound up to par on her last tour). I just think Mariah over did it. I bet you a million £'s she's had nodule surgery, and isn't admitting it, and that's why her chords were damaged.

@BlueSpirit3743 It usually happens at some point before or after 40. Marilyn Manson's voice started changing around 40, Dani Filth is around 40 something I'm sure. Here's another example, but this show's the opposite effect - someone's voice changing for the better - Meat Loaf, ever heard of him? Listen to a song by him called Bat out of Hell, then after that listen to his version of It's All Coming Back to Me Now. It sounds like a completely different person, but his voice aged up quite a bit.

aside from getting her old shape back, i think her speaking voice is also more compact, compare to her rosie 1999 interview where it was raspy. i hope her album being recorded would showcase a better mariah vocals compare to her 2previous albums. im glad for her.
