  • Before metal rods were inserted in her arms, Louise Degn liked to bring her LDS ward choir to its final note with a strong, upbeat flourish. Now Degn must settle for using her baton in downward motion as a more subtle punctuation, with her arms lifted only halfway to her shoulders.

But she can still conduct the choir's traditional Christmas program Sunday, accompanied by a full orchestra, at the east-side Salt Lake City chapel.

  • President Thomas S. Monson said the Church will build temples in Paris, France; Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo; Durban, South Africa; Barranquilla, Colombia and Star Valley, Wyoming. The Church will also rebuild the historic Provo, Utah Tabernacle - which was heavily damaged by fire in December 2010 - and convert it into a temple.

  • Uh, where is the rambling in the answer?

  • @help4343 I understand why you can't hear it.

  • The LDS Church has scored another parcel of land near Provo's fire-ravaged historic tabernacle, but what the Salt Lake City-based faith will do with its new property remains a mystery.

By unanimous vote Tuesday, the Provo City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency Board, signed a letter of intent with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to sell the Hotel Roberts site at 192 S. University Ave. for $500,000.

  • @omiolo

    Ok... and....

  • @omiolo Scored?

  • "I was definitely a curiosity," Barlow said. But the curiosity, he said, faded within the first academic year. He found out later when he was due for tenure there was a man on the board of directors who made a fuss about tenuring a Mormon, he added. Barlow later came to USU in 2007.

  • @omiolo We all have to deal with the prejudices of others.

  • This video is so ad hominem.

Shawn answered this question correctly. Why should be believe anything else? The question was asked in such a way to trip him up in his words. So he just played it safe.

The reason he says what happened is exactly what the Bible says happened is because of how Mormons view the Bible. They do not trust it 100%.

  • @ZimZam205 Wow. The Pastor McCraney supporters will say anything.

  • We have to expect that men will rant against what we believe, that they will scream with all their might to confuse and distort what we know to be true. This man should not be our focus, our focus should be our Savior and His example. Men like Shawn are obsessed and we cannot help them by bashing back. Lets live more Christlike lives and do good. If they sow seeds of hate against us, lets not be offended but show through our faith and with the help of Heaven that what we believe is true.

  • @llewellleo We can laugh at those who gnash.

  • @BornAgainstMormons I've struggled with this inherited condition for since my early teens. So, I am intimately acquainted with this illness, and what conditions can worsen an already chronic condition into a lethal one. The additional stresses placed by the Mormon culture on a person predisposed to depression, young men in particular, can be lethal. I firmly believe if I hadn't left the LDS church, I would be dead. As is my brother, and that poor Swartz kid who couldn't say "No Bishop".

  • @eeikman You lie with this continual spam.

  • @BornAgainstMormons You deny with continual lack of proof

  • @silversniper231 Is this another one of your many usernames?

  • @BornAgainstMormons

No siree, Silversniper is the one and only username i have :) I wouldn't use THAT much time. Honestly, i wish you could answer the question though.

  • @silversniper231 You responded to a comment to another username.

  • @BornAgainstMormons Correct. I was telling him how i pitied you ^_^

  • @silversniper231 I am so glad you don't have a sock account. To think that anti- Mormons would troll these videos pretending like they are more than they really are, well that would be unbelievable.

  • @BornAgainstMormons Even so, im pretty sure they'd only have one account. Making multiple accounts sounds like too much of a pain. I don't use that much of my time on indoctrinated Mormons, its really a feeble pursuit. I'm just looking for answers. Apparently your religion seems to have none however :/ .

PS: sock account? hahahaha that sounds funny XD why sock instead of just multiple?

  • @BornAgainstMormons Hey. Help me out. I can't tell if you're Mormon, anti-Mormon, or just plain anti-anti-Mormon, but not Mormon. Or maybe just Anti-Shawn Mccraney, which everyone should be. You seem to support the Church, but I just can't tell. Thanks.

  • Shawn McCraney clearly is indicating that the Mormon teachings and interpretations differ from the Bibles original context. Anyone who has watched his show will know that he points out the misinterpretations and contextomy all the time. This in no way implies that Shawn does not know what the Mount of Transfiguration is and clearly is of itself quote mining since the uploader cuts off Shawn and goes to the famous pageant response again trying to imply something and equate something about Shawn.

  • @imbiased Actually, Pastor McCraney is letting everyone know that his Biblical interpretation is correct above all others.

  • @BornAgainstMormons I have no way of responding to your reply without hearing Shawns statement in complete and proper context. All I hear is Shawn saying that the Bible means what it says. Not sure why you, as the uploader, would want to imply he gave an inadequate response by playing (and thus equating) the Ms Retard pageant response.

BTW, thanks for the friend invite.

  • Who is the girl?

  • @54v115 Since she is a bleached blonde and won't answer questions, she must be related to Pastor McCraney.

  • Mormonism is a false religion.

  • @XXXPharcydeXXX I am sure that was the mantra of the wicked Jews in the days of Christ.

  • This video was pointless. Shawn McCraney rules!

  • @jlc19702 Yes, Pastor McCraney rules his minions.

  • What is the point of this video?

  • @kristikclark If you watch it and read the information, you won't have to ask that.

  • Congradulations at creating one of the poorest attempts at smearing a fellow YouTuber. Fail.

  • @palermo131 How about Pastor McCraney just answer the questions?

  • This video is stupid. What are you retarded?

  • @SaintJimmyI That isn't a nice thing to say.

  • @BornAgainstMormons Wasn't interested in being nice. I was interested in telling the truth.

  • @SaintJimmyI You failed at both.

  • @BornAgainstMormons Don't be a bitch

  • @SaintJimmyI Is that the language your god teaches you to use?

  • I'm laughing so hard I can't even think of anything to say!

  • @Dalessiokiller Why? Shawn is simply saying he interprets Luke 9:27-36 and/or Matthew 17:1-13 literally. What's wrong with that? Sure, maybe he didn't know the exact chapter and verses as I've listed here, but really, how many people have the entire Bible memorized chapter and verse?

  • @chriscb No dude I was laughing at the fact the what followed was a pageant candidate's goofy response to who knows what. It just caught me off guard. Calm down, I had to look up the verses myself.

  • Joseph smith was a conman from 1820-1826, he looked at seer stones in his hat(witchcraft) to pretend that he could find hidden treasure. He 'translated' golden plates by looking at a stone in his hat.

Martin Harris took 116 pages of these 'translations' and hid them to prove that smith was really 'translating'. Smith could not prove he was translating by redoing the writings.

Smith plagiarized a book called View of the Hebrews(1823) by ethan smith. The book is about jews sailing to america.

  • @solomanspaming Watch my video on how Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I hope that helps.

  • @BornAgainstMormons Joseph smith also married 11 other mens wives and claimed an angel threatened to kill him if he didn't become a polygamist. If you believe that, you deserve to be conned out of 10% of your income.

More importantly, why would he commit adultery when he could have married single women? He's also a pedophile because Nancy Winchester and Helen Mar Kimble were 14 when he married them.

  • @BornAgainstMormons google that, you are an ignorant MORmON. Even the mormon website familysearch org lists 24 of his 33 wives (11 who were already married) and 2-14 year olds Winchester and Kimble.

And he did claim that an angel told him to become a plig or be killed in 1843, it's all documented MORmON church history.

Here's another FACT: They were called the Church of LATTER DAY SAINTS from 1834-1838.

  • @solomanspaming still no.

  • i'd just like to mention that having dyed blonde hair has nothing to do with intelligence.

  • ive never seen a clip that was longer than 10 seconds: that refutes shawn

  • @GOLLYJONNY I am sure you only see what you want to.

  • I challenge any of you cowards to call Shawn and have the ball$ to debate with him on his show. You and your false doctrine will be put down!

  • @jwickrosco Pastor McCraney has you duped. Mormon Christians call all the time and he either hangs up on them or doesn't let them on.

  • @jwickrosco Shawn claims to be a Christian, yet, his whole "Ministry" is based on hate and bashing on Mormons. I can't find the Gospel of Hate and Bitterness anywhere in the Bible. I would think that if someone truly was searching for God, they wouldn't waste time with such hate and bitterness. Shawn could be doing a lot of good in the world. Instead, he hides away on his little cardboard box of a show and hates. It's very sad that people can't see right through this.

  • Since when does, "exactly what the bible says (happened)", compare fairly to her ridiculous answer?

  • @CutintheHeart Your question is unclear.

  • @Cilence13 Shawn McCraney was asked about the events that took place on the Mount of Transfiguration but was unable to expand other than to say I believe what's in the Bible.

  • Its funny that he knows more about the bible and book of morman than just about any morman. haha.

  • @pedroelcarvron Since you posted 'haha', I assume you must be kidding. I laughed too at your funny statement.

  • @BornAgainstMormons I believe what I said. I thought the video was funny... though I dont agree with it.

  • Jude 1: 18 - There shall be mockers in the latter-days. Maybe Jude had seen him in that vision because he sure fits the bill.

  • Ok, considering he is doing what God told him to do? yah, that makes perfect sense. This man was LDS. This man was a minister in the LDS. He knows LDS. He loves LDS. He doesnt make it look pretty but truly he is doing this for the LDS that are not sure if they believe. He's showing them all these facts that you cant back up. No DNA evidence for the Book of Mormon. No early christianity in early americas. Joseph Smith taught polygamy was the only way to become a God. WERE NEVER GOING TO BE A GOD.

  • @jessejaymz94 That is like saying Judas knows what it is like to be Christian.

  • Mormons need to be disparaged. Good for Shawn. this underwhelming youtube video only increases his popularity. PLEASE MAKE MORE! Down with the ridiculous and Godless pseudo-philosophy of the arrogant whoring Joseph Smith.

  • @niksilvourbolt I will make more, and more of his supporters will continue to turn a blind eye to this TV Evangelist.

  • @niksilvourbolt You ANTImormon types make me SICK. You swallow the ADULTERY and DRUG ABUSE of Shawn McCraney and then shoot LYING rhetoric at good men. I would tell you to go to HELL, but I am sure you are ALL ready there.

  • @omiolo Good points.

  • While it may not seem vital how academic theologians regard us, in Christian religions beside our own, they advise denominational leaders, and there is definitely a "trickle down" effect from religious elites to ordinary Protestants and Catholics.

This erroneous Pelagian-Mormon identification matters to a Mormon running for President or a person forming a values coalition or to any of us who receive a chilly reception in professional meetings. This fact is clear to me. . .

  • @niksilvourbolt You aren't actually for anything except hate. It seems doubtful you even care about shawn except in his role as mormon critic. There is nothing about him that is extraordinary, he is just an average guy with a decent layman's understanding of things. His obsession with mormons, and tearful blubbering that he doesn't want them all tortured for eternity, is mildly disturbing, but not too interesting.. "Godless pseudo-philosophy"...what? Do you know what any of those terms mean?

  • @SammyHales

"You aren't actually for anything except hate. "

You got all that from a few sentences on Youtube, huh? Do you think your reply sounds that much different?

"It seems doubtful you even care about shawn except in his role as mormon critic. "

Bad assumption. I've spoken with Shawn, and support what he does. Mormonism sucks, and you should jump off that bandwagon, too.

  • @niksilvourbolt Does hate bother you?

  • @SammyHales Thank you, this was concisely and accurately written.

  • Shawney McCraney is simply a genius... so he believes.

  • Hopefully, those who see the images that photographers shoot can bring about change, he added.

"I understand what post-traumatic stress is a little better now," Jenkins said...

  • Dallas freelance photojournalist Lawrence Jenkins, who covered the earthquake initially and has been back to Haiti three times, simplified it by saying the camera allows a photographer to detach himself from the scene. It was only afterward, while editing the horrific images, that he began to cry over the misery he had witnessed.

  • Deseret News - 9 hours ago

PORT-AU-PRINCE -- Five days after the Haiti earthquake on Jan. 12, 2010, I was witness to the massive destruction of a city and an enormous loss of life and misery. To say that covering this scene was jarring would be the understatement of the century.

Most photojournalists would agree that somehow a camera held to the eye acts as a shield and barrier while photographing the worst moments of life and death.

  • @omiolo Scary.

  • The choir released a three-disc set of songs titled 100: Celebrating a Century of Recording Excellence, which includes aCD/DVD of rarely seen or heard performances. • The balancing act

Swinton's first draft contained 900 pages. President Monson read it, loved it; then she cut it to around 600, a necessary step.

The manuscript was passed to Emily Watts, one of Deseret Book's most experienced editors, who was told she had roughly three months to review the material and catch any mistakes.

  • A quote Swinton obtained from President Boyd K. Packer, president of the church's Quorum of the Twelve, summarizes President Monson the best: "He is more Christlike than the rest of us. He is known for emphasizing and elevating things that are most important, the ordinary things. He is one for whom the widow and the orphan are not just statements in a book."

In his dedicatory prayer at the March 6, 1999, opening of the Colonia Juarez Chihuahua Temple — the first Latin American temple dedicated during this period — President Hinckley invoked a blessing that perhaps signaled the significance of the moment: "May the sons and daughters of father Lehi grow in strength and in fulfillment of the ancient promises made concerning them."

  • @BornAgainstMormons You say that Shawn McCraney is Anti-Mormon and you accuse him of "attacking" mormons but, aren't you doing the same thing by accusing him of whatever it is that your accusing him of?

  • The center, which reopened to the public on 7 August, is located on Santa Monica Boulevard adjacent to the Los Angeles Temple.

  • Can someone explain to me how he showed a lack of knowledge there? I'm not seeing it.

  • @Cilence13 so he answered the question? With an answer that depicts his knowledge?

  • Seriously? I mean really? He prefaces as to why his answer is so short and simple by asking if it set up the argument enough for the twistianity that was most certainly about to follow. His mumbling was not out of ignorance, it was out of frustration with the inane arguments that the LDS put forth.

  • @omiolo Hey, bub - why don't you post your OWN videos. then you can clutter your OWN coments threads with irrelevant spam that has nothing to do with the discussion. You obviously have way too much time on your hands.

  • He know's enough not to tamper with Gods Word, unlike Joseph whom changed the gospel to meet his needs as a man. He needed to change the first vision 7 times to get it right, He needed a lot of women 33 wives(8 which were already wed) , And money 10% of everything they made, he needed complete control to the point of having men join him in a walk across America, Where he found the only relic(Zelph) of his make believe BOM And then was killed in a gun battle and called a martyr.

  • @pappyforyou I guess if you rewrite history you can get it to say whatever you want! But I do NOT think that is honest!

  • @pappyforyou I think you are getting the words RESTORED mixed up with CHANGED. I think we can give the pagan emperor Constantine credit for changing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and forcing those damnable CREEDS upon Christianity.

  • There's no meat to this discussion. Shawn answered this way because the guy was trying to shoot down the credibility of the Bible the whole time. This stance makes little sense a believing Mormon.

  • I don't understand why you think his response was stupid. He said that he believes what the bible says about transfiguration. What's wrong with that?

  • org is also a tremendous resource for employers. Employers can post job openings, review potential candidates, make contacts and even hire new employees based on Web site profiles. As an employer, Ebert explains, I can literally go to the Web site, send an electronic message to the individual saying, I have an interest in meeting with you. The Web site is the catalyst for bringing the prospective employer and employee together.

  • When a person logs on the site, they will be invited to create a profile that includes their employment history, qualifications, education and skills. Rich Vunder, manager of Church employment resource services in northern Utah, says the exciting thing about the site is the control prospective employees have over their information. It is a self-directed Web site. The better their profile is, the better their opportunities to connect with employers.

  • 2. An unimpaired condition

Elder Holland spoke of the structural integrity of a healthy heart. Impairments in the integrity of a human heart can result in failure and death. The human body is, by nature, flawed and subject to structural failure. In like manner, spiritual flaws result in a failure of the integrity of the soul.

  • Joan of Arc, he added, believed some things are worse than even dying young. "One of those things worse than dying is to live without integrity to a cause you believe to be more sacred than life itself."

  • Antimormon interesting how he presents mormonism very accurately, yet people get angry because he tells them what the doctrines and history of the church are. And he has actually asked several times to have an official spokesman of the church come on his show and been denied several time by the LDS church. So I think the LDS are the ones who have something to hide as they are pagans. I was also LDS and I love my LDS brothers and sisters the same regardless of difference in beliefs

  • is this him being interviewed by thomas s monson??

  • @POC777

IRONIC, since you have little to NO clue of what Mormonism is!

  • Yes I figured that there had to be something in his past that gave him no other purpose than to promote hatred and bigotry. It usually doesn't take much research to find out that this is the case just as Ed Decker the maker of the misinformative anti-Mormon propoganda cartoon the Godmakers is nothing more than his way of dealing with his adultery and unfaithfulness to his family and subsequent excommunication to try and promote hatred and bigotry...this behavior never comes out of love, period.

  • In his classic volume "Investigating the Book of Mormon Witnesses" -- described by one of my BYU colleagues, not unreasonably, as "next to the scriptures themselves, the most faith-promoting book (he had) ever read" -- and in later studies (two of which are available on the website of Brigham Young University's Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship), he has set out a deeply impressive case. I earnestly commend his work to those unfamiliar with it.

  • Further, one can note the calendrical similarity of the events of the week prior to April 3, according to the chronology presented in Part 1. On Sunday, 27 March A.D. 33, the body of Jesus was anointed ("dedicated"?) for burial. (John 12:1-7.) Similarly, the Kirtland Temple was dedicated on Sunday, 27 March 1836. (D&C 109.)

  • In recent years the group has met in various homes along the Wasatch Front.

At each gathering, missionaries look forward to a delicious potluck meal including such Mexican favorites as homemade tortillas, chile verde or chile relleno casserole.

The group enjoys singing hymns in Spanish, seeing photographs and reminiscing about mission days. Updates and reports from those who have visited the mission area spark interest.

  • Moreover, during the week following both of these dedications, the ordinance of the washing of feet was introduced and the sacrament of the Lord's supper was observed. (See History of the Church, 2:410-40.)

  • For the most part, Nephite scribes are uninterested with the Mulekites (the term "Mulekite" is never used in the Book of Mormon). We see the same thing in the book of Ether. The primary character in the early chapters is the "brother of Jared." His name is never given. Why? Because it's Jared's lineage that is important, not the lineage of the "brother of Jared."

  • The families and descendants of Laman and Lemuel essentially cease to exist in the Nephite tribal narrative except when they emerge in warfare with the Nephites. Once the wars end, they once again cease to exist.

Likewise, the Mulekites, who by descent outnumbered the Nephites, are barely mentioned in the Nephite record and very little information is really given about them.

  • LOL!!!

  • Faith is an anxiety buster. We don't have to fixate on what about this and what about that if there is complete faith in the Savior. Life, no matter what, will be OK, and we can set back our clocks so we don't have to dread everything stressful or worrisome. Faith is our safe, secure standard time.

So instead of turning clocks forward and backward for Daylight or Standard time, we can use repentance and faith to leap ahead to the present for all of us on Mormon Time.

  • What a joy to walk into the temple and find it in perfect condition. We just had to close a few drawers and straighten a few crooked pictures. It felt so good to be there in that peaceful refuge and find normality. Moroni did lose his trumpet, however! That was the only noticeable damage." And then, they even held a session that day! Wow.

  • Shawn McCraney has a lot of knowledge. It takes a lot of guts to do what he does ! Plus, the TRUTH needs to come out about the origination of book of mormon. God bless Shawn ! His lessons on the book of mormon are spectacular ! More movies NEED to be made about HOW the book of mormon originated. NOT the sugar coating what has been given to the LDS.

but for realz, yes he openly admits to sin, the difference being that he knows that Jesus is working inside of him and he knows that without Jesus those things would dominate his life.

    Instead, Jesus dominates his life.

  • "Jesus dominates his life"

from what I hear, abuse, addiction, and his temper dominate Shawn McCraney's life.

For me those things are the OPPOSITE of Jesus Christ. But then again, my Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world!

  • you are quite right, those things are opposite of Christ

and can you tell me that you do not sin?

  • Speaking of the importance of obedience, Sister Lant encouraged students to learn to love obedience and its rewards.

"Heavenly Father will bless us as we are obedient to His commandments," Sister Lant said. "It comes down to whether or not we will give ourselves over to Him and be obedient. It is our choice."

  • Opponents say the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple is 10 feet higher than what zoning laws allow and is not a good fit with their neighborhood.

Church officials said the petition won't change their plans to build the temple.

Mormon Church spokesman Len Greer said the church will continue 'bridge building' with neighbors and will hopefully work toward a satisfactory resolution.

  • PHOENIX (AP) - Mormon officials are offering to work with neighbors upset about the proposed height of a north Phoenix temple.

Neighbors living near 51st Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road turned in more than 16,000 signatures last week asking that voters decide the temple's height.

  • "The instructions I give are that the Ciudad Juarez Temple is our temple," said Darwin R. Jensen, president of the El Paso Texas Mount Franklin Stake. "That's where we have our assignments. My counsel to [members of the stake] is that this is our opportunity and we have a responsibility to fulfill our assignment.

  • Two stakes from El Paso, Texas, are assigned to attend the Ciudad Juarez Mexico Temple, shown above.

  • The El Paso Texas Mount Franklin and El Paso Texas Stakes are both part of the Ciudad Juarez Mexico Temple district. The former is assigned to provide temple patrons each Tuesday, the latter every Thursday.

  • Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucres sake. Titus 1: 11

  • Thats the worst thing really about living a life like shawn. They use the holy bible as much as they can to puff themself in their own pride. But they dont even take the time to read the holy bible or get to know it. If they did they would see that the LDS faith is the only one that even comes close to whats in it.

  • I hear he has read pamphlets and books about the Bible, Book of Mormon, D&C, PoGP, J o D, HOC, Mormon Doctrine, etc.

They're laced with hatred towards the LDS church and are written by scholars so that information must be true, right?

That's a negative on the "trutfhfulness"

What most won't agree upon is settling their disputes in a "fair" place free from personal bias; If I want to buy a Toyota, I'm not going to ask a Ford Dealer what they know about the Toyota car. Same goes for Shawn!

  • LDSLIFE - Shawn was a "Toyota". He was a Mormon for 40 years. But you know what? Mormons are really great about dismissing the messenger ANY way they can - so they won't have to deal with the MESSAGE.

  • @LDSUnderground

    Apparently in 40 years he was unable to discover what happened during the Mt. of Transfiguration, for example. I prefer to heed such counsel given by Gamaliel and steer far away from such folks;

"And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God."

    (See Acts 5:34-39 respectively)
