  • Andre Kostelanetz and his Orchestra did it better.

  • This has always been my fav rendition of Malaguena. In my teens I played the accordion and I had the sheet music to this exact song and the Boston Pops record also. I would go up to my bedroom, put on the recording at full volume and blast along with it on my accordion! lol Thanks for posting this.

  • Oooh. I love music like this.

  • Don't want to get maudlin, but... Today's my birthday. The last time, I heard this exact recording was about 60 years ago. It has always been my favorite piece of music and favorite recording and I thought I'd never hear it again. Fantastic birthday present. One of the best I'd ever gotten. Thank you.

  • Fiedler is is grand, but Stanley Black is breathtaking!

  • Malaguena is old but is not an anonymously composed folksong,it was composed by the famous cuban composer and pianist Ernesto Lecuona.

  • Wonderful. I am looking for a recording of Malaguena that comes from an album called "Bullfight!". I remember there being castanets and a few sounds that imitated a live recording in the stadium, however I doubt that was the case. The sound quality was fabulous. I sure would appreciate any help locating this record.

  • OMG I have this record!!!!!

  • Wish I hadn't sold my victrola for rent money back in 1998.

  • I remember in the late or mid 40's that Boston Pops Orchestra made a record 10 inch 45 rpm of Jealousie backed with Ritual fire dance. Just wondering if you heard of it or have it. My sister sat on it and that is history of the record.

  • The composer is Ernesto Lecuona and the arranger is Ferde Grofé..

  • From the article on Wikipedia:

Originally the sixth movement of the Suite Andalucia by Ernesto Lecuona, who also provided it with Spanish lyrics, the song "Malagueña" has since become a popular, jazz, marching band, and drum corps standard and has been provided with lyrics in several languages.

  • who is the composer of this song?

and whats the actual song's name, not just the movement?

  • @davidhan96 Malaguena is actually a very old & anonymously composed folksong from the Spanish port city of Malaga in Andalusia.

  • Bro love this very much...wish I had found this earlier. My dad had the LP. I tried looking for it in CD or DVD to no avail.

  • Ole!

  • i play this almost every day and it is a very entertaining song

  • My sister and I played this as a two-piano duet! This makes me want to play it again. Too much fun!

  • love the video and of course the music! thanks!

  • Greatest composition ever written!

  • Thanks for this upload!!

I've been looking for this version of Malagueña for more than 20 years.

I still have a coal LP but don't have the console to play it.

  • The best orchestral version of Malagueña in all youtube.

  • My grandad had this record and played it for me when I was a kid. I loved it then and now. It's the best version of Malguena I've ever heard. I wonder if it's on DVD now. I'll have to check.

Thanks so much for putting it here! Bravo!!
